Lunch Break: Obamas dance at Fiesta Latina

Lunch Break today is courtesy of the Huffington Post:

Now this is great TV! As part of their ongoing series of parties and events at the White House, the Obamas hosted a Latin music celebration (or, "Fiesta Latina") on Tuesday night. The performers included Gloria Estefan, Marc Anthony, Jose Feliciano, Los Lobos, the New York bachata band Aventura, the Mexican singer Thalia, among others. In the video below, the Obama family is onstage and dancing -- Michelle with Malia, and Barack with Sasha -- and Jennifer Lopez, wearing gold, is swaying just behind them.

Vannah,

Millions of Americans would not just wish to be there, but just for one night, be able to eat the wonderful foods they had chef's prepare for them, but can't because they can barely put a bowl of cereal on the table during this economic crisis.

And the taxpayers got to pay for it all! Cool!

Sad, really, but I'm happy for the 1st family and am so glad they had such a wonderful time...I really am.

People, you have not lived until you have been to a fiesta latina. And by that I mean full blown salsa, merengue, food, beverages, and party to the break of dawn.

I actually know the piece that was playing in the video.

I remember during the campaign Obama shaking his groove thang in Puerto Rico. Hillary, too. Twas a sight to behold.

Gee, they're such a pretty, fashionable 1st family that I almost forget that those little girls are being raised by parents who believe that it must be legal for Americans to vaccuum the brains out of a near-born baby's head or leave a live-birthed baby to die in a soiled utility room. They are very lucky girls indeed! Their parents let them live, and live quite a privileged life at that! Isn't that the new American Dream?

What was the total ($) bill for their little fiesta?

I hate to say it but just the mere fact that he is there makes me glad I did not go.
