Preborn baby remembrance charm

Bethany has told her Happy to Be Called Mommy blog readers about a new piece of jewelry that may be of interest to special mothers:

I found a charm online for memorializing an unborn child today.... [I]t might be just the thing someone is looking for to memorialize their baby lost through miscarriage. It's so precious and sweet.

The charm can be purchased here.

I think this would be a touching memory charm for post-abortive mothers to wear, too.

Miscarriage from a Christian perspective

Jill received an email recently from a woman who has written a book to encourage and support mothers grieving after miscarriage. If you have gone through a loss, this may be for you.

From the email...

Blessing's photo adopted

blessing 1.jpgIt seems much longer than 14 months ago when I first met moderator and friend Bethany via email. She had just miscarried her 6-week-old baby she named Blessing. Bethany sent me her story and photos of Blessing, giving me permission to post them.

Many mourning mothers have since written to thank Bethany for posting Blessing's photos. I just received another touching note this morning, also with permission to post...

One mother's miscarriage, a pro-abort's joke

by Bethany Kerr

A few days ago I gave Jill permission to post manipulations of a photo of my miscarried baby someone named "Barbra Walters" emailed me.

Cruelly intended, the photoshopped pictures did not cause me grief as some here worried. I knew the ideology of the person sending them and have developed a tolerance for pro-abortion cruelty.

That said, there are still some things to learn about the pro-abortion mind, as I found out.

insult1.jpgI let Jill post the pictures to help people understand how deeply depraved abortion proponents can be. I thought this would demonstrate in the worst terms what they do: treat the unborn child as a worthless object and deny grief by ridiculing mourning mothers who have lost their children either through abortion or miscarriage.

I was surprised though, when a couple liberal bloggers picked up my post and to their shame added to the ridicule. Could it get worse? Yes.

How about equating miscarried babies with food, making the photoshopped photos our fault, and threatening "by any means necessary" would they fight this battle?

Read on....

Miscarriage of cruelty

I met moderator Bethany a little over 1 year ago via email when she sent me photos of her recently miscarried 6-week-old baby, who Bethany named Blessing.

I posted Blessing's photos, and to this day Bethany receives emails and comments from mothers wanting to share with Bethany the pain of the loss of their baby.

But the dark side of the world is inhabited by twisted, hurtful people. Over the weekend, Bethany received 2 emails from "Barbra Walters" with photoshopped pictures of Blessing. Bethany gave me permission to post.

Mile high abortion, miscarriage, or murder UPDATE

UPDATE, 4/2, 3:50p: I'm moving old updates to page 2. Read the story in chronological order from the airplane graphic, below. Here's the latest, from, today:

No charges will be filed in the case of a fetus found in a trash bin on an airplane....

Investigators said the 14-year-old mother was returning from New York with a chaperoned school group.

Police presented the case to the Harris County District Attorney's Office, which declined to charge the girl or the apparent 14-year-old expectant father.

These 2 should be in 8th grade. Will MSM check to see whether these kids' school taught comprehensive sex ed or abstinence ed?

Yesterday afternoon a mother on board a Continental flight somewhere between NY and Houston delivered a preterm baby, or "apparent fetus," as the Associated Press called him/her...

Mourning has broken

From My Fox Colorado, March 3:

Commerce City Police are investigating the discovery of a fetus at a wastewater treatment plant....

A routine walk-through by a plant operator turned up a sad discovery... found amidst piles of garbage and human waste....

"Based on the size, we guess, it's was somewhere in the second trimester, somewhere between 4 to 6 months," says Commerce City police officer, Lanissa Blevens.

Police suspect it was most likely flushed....

But police say they may have a possible suspect. And what charges she faces for discarding her fetus, depends on whether it was capable of living outside the womb.

"If it wasn't viable, we're looking at charges of abuse of a corpse, to possible concealment of death," says Blevens.

If it was viable, the charges are much more severe, including possible homicide....

How can "it" be a "corpse"? Moreover, how can a blob of tissue be a "corpse"? But I digress.

Pro-abort responses to yesterday's post, "Caskets for miscarried babies," disgusted even me, and I have a high tolerance for ignorance. I awakened this morning to thoughts of those crude, cruel comments and decided to delete the lot of them. But alas, so many had already responded, I had to leave them on pathetic display.

I asked commenter and miscarriage expert Sandy to compose her thoughts on all this. Here they are....

Caskets for miscarried babies

I just received an email from a man who recently launched a pro-life ministry with his wife to supply burial caskets for miscarried children. They have lost 3 children to miscarriage, aged 6 to 17 weeks.

He read my post about the France Supreme Court's recent ruling to allow parents the right to name and bury their miscarried baby no matter what gestational age.

Bless his heart, he wondered if I had contact information for the 3 mothers who won that lawsuit so he could provide them free caskets.

I don't have that information, but I sure can spotlight his ministry, called Heaven's Gain. I have posted the address on "web links," right, for your reference.

Here are some of the casket choices, very reasonably priced:

Naming France's fetuses

bethany%27s%20baby.jpgAFP reports the French Supreme Court has ruled that parents have the right to name their miscarried or stillborn baby no matter what gestational age.

Before 3 mothers of earlier-term babies filed the winning lawsuit, French officials "insisted," according to the story, that preborns be 22-weeks-old or 1.1 pounds to merit a name.

The ruling will also allow mothers to bury their babies rather than be forced to let hospitals incinerate them and let moms take maternity leave....

Bethany's baby

I received the following note and photos this morning. They are self-explanatory.

bethanyf.jpgDear Jill,

The reason I'm emailing is because a little over two weeks ago I experienced a miscarriage. It was very difficult to deal with, as I was so excited about having a fourth child and had no idea anything was wrong until the day I had the routine ultrasound, and the doctors told me that the baby had died in my womb. :-( I had to wait a week to miscarry the baby, and it was so difficult.

Once the baby came, I took several pictures of the baby, who was around six weeks old when he or she died. These pictures were first taken for myself, so that I would never forget what my baby looked like....
