monica letter slide 2.JPG

On April 22 Notre Dame's student newspaper, The Observer, will feature a full page color ad placed by Citizens for a Pro-Life Society (click to enlarge).

The powerful ad includes photos taken of the severed hand and foot of an aborted baby found in late-term MI abortionist Alberto Hodari's dumpster 13 months ago....

In the ad CPLC calls on ND President Fr. John Jenkins to disinvite radical pro-abortion President Barack Obama "for Jacob," the name given the aborted baby in its ad. The ad will reorient readers to the reality of the discussion.

View the pdf of the ad here.

Comments:

Oh, yeah, I remember Baby Jacob. He's the little guy that was stashed next to the crushed Happy Meals in that dump. Him and about a few other of his dismembered buddies as I recall.

The Notre Dame story continues to build momentum. I'm amazed and admire the job pro life people are doing.

God Bless you, Monica Miller!

That picture is so disturbing.

Posted by: Vannah at April 20, 2009 8:50 PM

The saddest imagery to me is the little crease on the baby's hand.

you're right Lauren! Its as if his hand had an iron go over it.......

Our Lady is weeping in Heaven. Please pray for Fr. Jenkins' change of heart.

Ugh. I just read a post by a woman who worked in a hospital that performed abortions. She said the nurses that assisted called the procedure "suck and chuck."

How depraved can we get?

Posted by: Lauren at April 20, 2009 9:53 PM

What a strong, yet moving, ad. I pray that it works and Fr. Jenkins regrets the invite and rescinds it.

Well you all know how I feel about graphic imagery...but the seasoned prochoice activist will probably believe the images are fake or images of miscarriages/stillbirths, while the average american may be more influenced by the images or may dismiss them as disgusting all together.

Posted by: Rachael C. at April 20, 2009 11:09 PM

Rachael, I think these specific images have been shot well so that you see the obvious humanity of the child, but it isn't so overt that you turn away and block the image from your mind.

That's my opinion at least.

I thought you were against porn? Thats all "allegedly aborted fetus" photos are. Grow up.

Posted by: Yo La Tengo at April 21, 2009 12:11 AM

Please explain to me how a photo of a murdered child is "porn."

Lauren, could you please post that link? I'd like to read that article/story please...

Posted by: AK Krystal at April 21, 2009 12:31 AM

Sure, Krystal. It was in the comment section on Barbara's blog.
Barbara, Before becoming a Mom I worked as an operating room nurse and have encountered similar situations and have had different reactions. At one, a large regional trauma center with many ORs, abortions were done officially up to 24 weeks. I refused to participate in any way, including touching any of the equipment when it came back from processing. My stance was well known. Those who did work the rooms where abortions were done used to refer to abortion days as "birthday party days" and the abortions themselves as "suck and chucks". The official name was ETOP/d&c or d&e. When they would use this language I would always respond, "no, it's death & carnage day". The size of the facility and the multitude of specialties available to work in allowed me to avoid the abortions themselves while still working there. I always felt that at least someone was calling it what it was and maybe some seed would be planted in those who overheard our exchanges.
Later in my career I made the policy for myself to not work in any facility that did abortions. I no longer wanted to be anywhere near them, even if I was speaking out against them."

In other news, people are sending hatemail to Myah. She's really upset by it, naturally. Please pray for her and for those who are sending such horrible things to such a wonderful woman.

Oh please, PLEASE, tell the newspaper to check their spelling! it's not TO late - should be TOO. This may seem unimportant to many, but spelling errors like this give me the thought that those who spawned them were just a tad careless, and that makes me question how careful they are with everything else.

If they are going to run this ad, they must be professional.

I know it sounds absurd that nurses would joke about abortions but after reading Won by Love by Norma McCorvey(the Roe of Roe V Wade)I understand it better. The crude humor was used to keep them emotionally distant from the horror that they knew they were involved in. Thanks for the link, Lauren!

This brings to mind the saying that we will know a tree by it's fruits. The fruits of the Obama policies are dead babies, and so we should see them all around him, all the time. That way we can see what he represents, clearly.

/how can anyone look at these pictures and not be completely appalled by abortion?

I thought you were against porn? Thats all "allegedly aborted fetus" photos are.

Are you saying the aborted foetuses and embryos do not look like this?

How is this porn?

Posted by: Louise at April 21, 2009 11:56 AM

Thanks Lauren for the link. Makes me sad...
At least that woman knows now not to support abortion in anyway! WTG for her!

Posted by: AK Krystal at April 21, 2009 12:23 PM

Yo La,

"I thought you were against porn? Thats all "allegedly aborted fetus" photos are. Grow up." Porn is sexual in nature. Pictures of aborted fetuses certainly are not. Consider in Vermont they want to legalize teen "sexting" (sex-texting). If that isn't porn, how can pictures of aborted fetuses possibly be?

* * * *
As an aside, this proposed law is a ridiculous wast of tax-payer dollars. They want to legalize "sexting" and then warn kids of the dangers. Brilliant.

The line has been drawn...

And the faithful Catholic ND kids are now taking a stand and fighting back...

...there is no turning back.

Thank you Presdient abortion for waking up and mobilizing the majority of the "sleeping" Catholic faithful to the Truth of what you really are.

Yes, God works in mysterious ways. :)

Yeah, Janet..whenever something like this happens...I try to find the silver lining...it sometimes take time to understand why the Lord allows these things to happen to His Church.

My shortest prayer ...Not ours, but Thy WILL be done.

I've been offline for a couple of weeks very sick... I'm going to go see what's going on with Myah... how dare anyone send that precious, sweet person hate mail????
