ABC and Time/CNN on BornAliveTruth.org Gianna ads

By Time/CNN's Mark Halperin on The Page this morning:

time-cnn bat.jpg

And the ABC News Jake Tapper blog this morning also included the YouTube video of the Gianna ad...

A new 527 has emerged. Called BornAliveTruth.org, the political organization says its mission "is to educate the public on the IL Born Alive Infants Protection Act and Senator Obama's record opposing this act."

abc logo.gif

In this TV ad, which is said to be airing in battleground states NM and OH, a woman named Gianna Jessen says she survived an failed abortion, and criticizes Obama for voting against legislation that would have declared that if a baby survives an abortion its life must be saved.

"I'm a survivor, as are many others...but if Barack Obama had his way, I wouldn't be here," she says. "Four times, Barack Obama voted to oppose a law to protect babies left to die after a failed abortion. Senator Obama, please support born alive infant protections. I'm living proof these babies have a right to live."

Jessen claims on her website to have survived her then-17-year-old mother's saline abortion in her third trimester.

We told you about this abortion vote that Republicans would use agianst Obama back in January.

"Subject: Special prayer for Sarah Palin

This email is from Rosemary Dupras, whose daughter is on Gov. Palin's staff. Regardless of your political persuasion, these words are straight from scripture and can be prayed over anyone or any situation, of course Rosanne and Rosemary are asking for your intercession for Gov. Sarah Palin according to Psalms 27.

Sarah Palin is a born-again, Spirit-filled Godly person who said 'yes' when asked recently to serve her country. Since then, Gov. Palin asked my daughter Rosanne, who is part of her staff in Anchorage, for prayer, and so over the weekend Rosanne and I put together the attached 'Psalm for Sarah for 66.' It's intercessory prayer using Psalm 27 for the 66 days between the date of Sarah's accepting McCain's offer and election day, Nov. 4; it's not about who wins the election or about politics or your voting choice.

We've sent it to a number of Christians across the county so would you also pray for Gov. Palin in this Esther-like time of her life? You might also pass it along or copy any one who might pray. If this request is offensive to you, I apologize.

Rosemary Dupras

A Psalm for Sarah for 66 Days:

Sixty-six Days of Intercession for Gov. Sarah Palin according to Psalm 27

Pray for Sarah, husband Todd, sons Track, baby Trig, daughters Bristol,
Willow, Piper, from August 29 through November 4.

Pray for:

Singleness of Vision, Moral Clarity

Fearlessness, Boldness
Ps 27:1b - The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?

Protection from Libel, Slander, Hatred, Persecution
Ps 27:2 - When [not 'if'] evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, my adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell.

Confidence in Christ, a Guarded Heart
Ps 27:3 - Though a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear;
Though war arise against me, in spite of this I shall be confident.

Priorities Devotions, Rest, Balance
Ps 27:4 - One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to meditate in His temple.

Deliverance, Favor
Ps 27:5 - For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.

An Overcoming Spirit, a Higher Perspective
Ps 27:6 - And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me; And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

Direction, Wisdom, Surefootedness
Ps 27:7, 11 - Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice, and be gracious to me and answer me. . . Teach me Thy way, O Lord and lead me in a level path because of my foes.

A Release of Faith, an Expectancy of Good,
Ps 27:13 - I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Strength, Courage, Endurance,
Ps 27:14 - Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the Lord.

And let Your kingdom come and let Your will be done.

In the name of Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen"

May I also add Jill Stanek, Gianna Jessen and all the pro-life and faithful commenters on this blog to the prayer list, as the gates of hell will come against them but will not prevail.

"sorry about the last message, trying to type with a 7 month old on my lap!"

LOL, Becky. I sometimes lay my daughter on my lap and feed her her bottle while I type with one hand. But she always kicks my hand and pushes it into other keys I don't mean to press, so I definitely sympathize with you there. God love you.

Becky, Bobby and Hisman...I guess I kinda belong too...I'm typing with a bruised/swollen upper lip from my 13 month old when he threw (sideways) a plastic teether/ rattle at point-blank range.

Ah..the "joys" of parenthood...

Gotta love this comment by bert on that blog:

Scott Peterson received a death sentence for killing the unborn baby inside his wife who he also killed. According to Obama this baby was not a baby and Peterson was convicted of killing a thing.

Obama is a lawyer, he should get to work on Scott Peterson's appeal.

Yep Zeke. In fact, there is someone who frequents this blog who has expressed skepticism over Gianna's "claim" to have been aborted.

ANYTHING to not deal with the consequences of abortion. Deny science, history, your senses, math, whatever it takes to hold onto the sacrament of choice.

*************************************

Yeah, apparently they think that NO ONE actually could survive an abortion. I mean, they're not supposed to, right? Maybe that's why these people think the BAIPA is just a hoax, right?

And perhaps they think that Gianna is just faking, since abortion survivors gain SO much wealth and status and fame and showers of blessings from society for speaking out...right? ;)

okay, enough sarcasm for one morning.

Battle Scars? ...I never thought of it that way...but I like it!!!

Reminds me of all the stupid stuff we did during high school as part of JROTC and ROTC in college...and all the years studying martial arts under a Japanese sensei..

But all that pales in comparison to parenthood...

"I'm a survivor, as are many others...but if Barack Obama had his way, I wouldn't be here," she says.

She was born years before Obama ever voted on this issues. She appears to be lying about this.

Posted by: Hal at September 16, 2008 1:29 PM

Hal,

She's talking about a "What if"...

Posted by: RSD at September 16, 2008 1:30 PM

She probably means If Barack Obama had his way, other people like me wouldn't be here."

But, that's a lie too. Obama isn't having "his way." The worst you can say about his position is that he thought the government should stay out of it, and not impose any "way."

And here's the freaken amazing part of her whole ad, she IS ALIVE despite the fact that this bill hadn't even been introduced yet. So, who needs this Act?

Posted by: Hal at September 16, 2008 1:34 PM

"She was born years before Obama ever voted on this issues."

Hal, I think she just means in general. For example, remember SoMG telling us that his mom had an abortion? Well, perhaps today his mom would say "If Bobby Bambino had his way, I would not have been able to have my abortion." Well, I didn't exist when she had her abortion (I think, at least) but she would just mean that I want to take away the right to procure an abortion, and if I could, I would have taken that if I could have had my "supernatural" way, I would have made abortions illegal, even before I was born.

OK, that was an odd analogy, but hopefully it makes sense...

Posted by: Bobby Bambino at September 16, 2008 1:36 PM

Poor Hal. We're obviously insulting him with all this sympathy for a woman who "claims" to have survived an abortion, and he's just expressing his "anger".

How thoughtless of us not to think of his feelings. How could we be so cold and unfeeling?

Just think how frustrated he is that she is still alive when her mother obviously wanted her to be dead, so many years ago. How long will we torture him?

Posted by: Doyle Chadwick at September 16, 2008 2:39 PM

Doyle, this woman is alive despite the fact that "Jill's Law" was not yet in effect. How can we explain this? I thought that without this law Obama would kill all the babies?

Posted by: Hal at September 16, 2008 2:55 PM

Hal, she's alive because of a nurse with a soul who took her from the abortion clinic to the hospital.

Had she followed "standard procedure" Gianna would have either been left to die, or strangled or suffocated to death as happened with other babies born alive at the time (and probably still happens).

Jill's law establishes that children born alive MUST be given care when they otherwise would have been left to die.

"Hal, she's alive because of a nurse with a soul who took her from the abortion clinic to the hospital."

Do you think people need a law to tell them to do the right thing?

Posted by: Hal at September 16, 2008 3:20 PM

Bobby @ 1:36,

You analogy makes perfect sense to me.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Hal @ 3:20,

"Hal, she's alive because of a nurse with a soul who took her from the abortion clinic to the hospital."

Do you think people need a law to tell them to do the right thing?

In the case of Partial Birth Abortion, YES. Before the law changed, an abortionist had the power to take matters in his own hands (literally) when a baby was born alive. He did not have to have a second doctor there with him during the abortion if he had deemed the fetus/BABY "NON-VIABLE" prior to the abortion attempt. This is the so-called LOOP-HOLE in the existing law that Obama chose to ignore.

Posted by: Janet at September 16, 2008 5:03 PM

How I wish even HALF THIS ENERGY AND DEBATE COULD BE DIRECTED TOWARD THE UNNECESSARY! and often EXCESSIVE ADDICTION to "sex",( NOT LOVE OR BABY MAKING)that permeates every conscious minute in the USA, today! The "baby" (fetus) didn't ORININATE in any woman's womb without a SPERM being introduced! How about these anti-abortion Evangelists FOCUSING MORE ON THE uncontrolled pursuit of SEX/LUST regardless of the "proper' entitlements(?)..or, simple refusal to exercise any self control!
Albeit it's a natural and needed form of biological action, I HAVE YET TO HEAR A SERMON FROM ANYONE (MAN OR WOMAN!) reminding the male population of THEIR GOD GIVEN OBLIGATION to NOT allow a conception..if, not delibertly, intended!

For "openers'..they could start with the over whelming INCITEMENTS in every imaginable way ! that the MEDIA saturates the American public with
daily...in their own homes...their livingrooms, bedrooms and yes, even in the presence of their children during "family" quality time!

Instead of pounding on the MINORITY of woman who wish legitimate medical HELP to nuliffy an unwanted pregnancy (!!) Show me YOUR CRUSADING COURAGE TO TAKE ON "THE_BIG_BOYS" to preclude that a high precentage of "accidential" pregnancy
N E V E R >>>O C C U R E

And that the "focus" (day and night) disappears from a "wardrobe slip?"?;a double meaning alluding to "sex'; female body exposure; ditto,Gay adventures, Gloifying immoral Celebrities? etc
and the wholesome, more advantageous things in USA are
APPLAUDED! We have beome so "childish" !! along this line...that we have become the laughing stock of the world among civilized countries!

Biological reproduction is ...as old as the human race! If, it can't be separated from hormonal-drive- lust-! than at least...recognize there is an "over-lap" that should be guarded against!

Posted by: M.P.MOONEY at September 16, 2008 5:09 PM

Hal, accidents do happen. Gianna was born in California, not Illinois, (and long before Obama voted to let such babies die, 4 times) but she was lucky enough to have been born after the abortionist had left the room, and a sympathetic nurse called 911. But should we depend on "luck" to bring medical attention to such babies? Or should we make it mandatory?

Posted by: Doyle at September 16, 2008 5:14 PM

Hal: "Do you think people need a law to tell them to do the right thing?"

Uhm yes? Do you think we need a law to tell a person its not the right thing to murder someone randomly? Apparently so!

I would insult you, but you just did it to yourself by typing words down and submiting them.

Posted by: Oliver at September 16, 2008 10:34 PM

"Hal: "Do you think people need a law to tell them to do the right thing?"

Ok Hal, for somebody who personalizes the "what's right for you may not be right for me" idealogy (moral relativism)...

shouldn't you be the first one to admit the need for this law?
