... I roll my eyes at people who have kids to shore up fading relationships, because they just happen to need a hobby, because they want someone to carry their name, or just because they never stopped to ask if that's what they really want to do.

If anything, bringing a child into the world under shady circumstances has always struck me as more suspect than having an abortion for seemingly frivolous reasons, since once you have a child, you're bringing a helpless person into the situation.

~Amanda Marcotte, who ignores the fact that a woman already has a "helpless" child once she is pregnant, as quoted by RH Reality Check, July 6

Comments:

I roll my eyes at anyone who ever could consider an abortion for whatever reason. Killing a child in the womb is always worse than allowing that child to be born. Life always trumps death. Always.

Maybe we ought to screen expectant parents, to see if the reason they are having children is "good enough". Sorry, but there are no mistakes in God's eyes. A life is valuable because it is, not because our human reasoning deems it so.

If anything, aborting a child usually under shady circumstances has always struck me as more suspect than having a baby for seemingly frivolous reasons, since once you have an abortion, you will always have a dead child and you can never undo that.

What Amanda Marcotte would say if she had a brain in her head and a heart in chest.

I believe parents should the reserve the right for perpetuity to choose to 'choice' their children for any and every, or no reason, simply because they 'choose' to do so.

Now that is true freedom of 'choice'.

Power to the parents. Right on.

Poor Amanda. What an unhappy soul. She needs our prayers. Really.
