Quote of the Day 10-20-09

... from almost any angle, the abortion-rights stance is so much "easier." For starters, it's far more politically correct. It requires no personal sacrifice.

In contrast the anti-abortion position is, by definition, selfless. I'm not just talking about choosing the "easy" answer of abortion over the sacrifice of motherhood or giving a baby up for adoption. And yes, I fully get that, for many women, undergoing an abortion is in the end understandably traumatic.

I also find it so telling that I've not heard of an abortion provider that gives away services, and I don't know of an anti-abortion crisis pregnancy center that charges for theirs.

"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Good points, Betsy.

I've never heard of a doctor who gets paid to kill and is subject to virtually no oversight.

I pray that abortionists will see the error of their ways.

But don't you remember after 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina that PP offered free abortions to "help out?"

This, for some reason, reminds me of a quote by Fowles discussing the Nazis. That the Nazis were not popular because they brought order to chaos but because they allowed people to do anything that they wanted. I'll try and find it. I'm not normally one to liken abortion to the Holocaust, but I thought that that was a very telling quote.

The use of the word selfless made me think of Jennifer's husband comment that she found so impacting: "It just occurred to me that being pro-life is being pro-other people's-life," he quipped. "Everyone is pro-their own-life." from www.conversiondiary.com/2008/01/how-i-became-pro-life.html#

Becca,

It is not my quote. I copied and pasted if from somewhere and I can't recall the where or the who.

That is why I put it in quotations.

I aplogize. I bet if you google it, it will come up.
