Since the mid-1970s, abortion opponents have managed to cut off insurance coverage for the procedure for a larger and larger number of Americans. With exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother, federally funded abortions are banned for women covered by military insurance, Medicaid, the health benefits program for federal employees, and the Indian Health Service. This is, of course, the result of deep religious conviction.
It's a legal medical procedure -- and insurance should cover it.

Elective abortion is NOT health care.
Pregnancy is not a sexually transmitted disease.
Neither is pregnancy a physcial abnormality that requires a surgical or pharmaseutical remedy.
No taxpayer should be required to pay for another persons elective surgery.
My children need some dental work.
Any of you socialists want to donate your money to pay for my kids orthodontics?
I didn't think so.
Religion ain't got nothin to do with your willingness to spend other peoples money and not voluntarily contribute a dime of your own.

I'm not really a socialist, but I'll throw in ten bucks.
Posted by: Hal at November 2, 2009 3:49 PMAbortion is NOT Health Care nor is it a NECESSARY "medical procedure". Pregnancy is not a sexually transmitted disease; it is the natural end result of sexual relations between a man and a woman.
Posted by: LizFromNebraska at November 2, 2009 4:03 PMAll I want to say is - Thank you, Jill Stanek, for all your time and efforts on this cause. Some are too busy with worldliness that they are blinded by selfish human needs and the mundane 'busyness' of life. You and others (like us) work for the 'eternal' cause - to stand up for millions of innocent lives lost daily to abortion :( and relying on God's Word. God bless you, God help us all, and God forgive those who are 'confused' by the distortions from the media and 'liberal' left.

Thanks for the offer, but the question was rhetorical?
But if you are feeling particularly generous buy a homeless person a Thanksgiving dinner. You will not lose your reward.

I used to be able to spell fairly well. My real problem is typing.
When I took typing in high school, while everyone else in my class was doing timed writing, I was doing timed 'writhing'!

Posted by: kbhvac at November 3, 2009 7:54 AMHi!
I am a pro-life blogger from Czech Republic (Europe). Maybe you will be interested that just today (3/11) one of our newspapers translated THIS ARTICLE from USA Today and issued it in rubric "View from the world". Though, I don´ t remember ANY pro-life commentary being ever translated from American newspapers...
P.S. Please excuse my English. I´ ve been learning for years, but still making mistakes :-(
Hi, Eva! Do you read this blog often? You should stick around and talk some more. International viewpoints are so cool, and your English is fine.
I saw the Czech Republic once on a TV show. The architecture looked so neat but the language sounded really difficult.
What are the abortion laws like there? Is it legal? Do women have what they need to have a healthy pregnancy instead of abortion?
:)
