Quote of the Day 11-16-09

ethan zohn.pngIf all goes as planned, he'll then move into a hospital for 30 days to face a stem-cell transplant, a process that will bring both his white and red blood-cell counts down to zero before doctors reintroduce his own harvested, healthy stem cells and attempt to regrow his immune system from scratch....

[S]ays... Morasca "We're overkilling to the max: completely wiping out the cells, putting in new cells and pressing restart."

~ As quoted from People magazine, November 23 issue, re: Survivor: Africa 2002 winner Ethan Zohn.

Zohn, famous for his curly moptop hair, was diagnosed last April with Hodgkin's disease.  Although it has a 90% cure rate, Zohn's has thus far fallen into the 10% who are not cured.

With the support of girlfriend Jenna Morasca, Survivor: The Amazon 2003 winner, Zohn hopes an adult stem cell transplant from his own body will beat this cancer.
