The problem is that no liberal woman speaks to the average woman. The average American woman does not look like most liberal politicians. Sarah Palin has so much power because women identify with her.

I didn't want to vote Hilary Clinton into the presidency because I thought her motives were wrong (raving ambition, proving to her husband she could be a better president) although I had to admit that men in politics are frequently acting out of blind ambition too. Had I known how unamerican Obama would have turned out to be, I might have been more soft on Clinton. I gave my vote to McCain and Palin so that I wouldn't have Obama's pro-abortion blood on my hands. I have been laughed at and criticized for voting for her. I didn't think that she was ready for the vice-presidency yet, but I couldn't face myself in the mirror if I had even thought for a second of voting for Obama.

Now, I have to admit: Palin is smarter than I thought! And she has something that a lot of shrill feminists don't have: charm. Oh, yes, charm. That quality that can't be bought or sold, that quality that you either have or you don't. Feminazis can't stand if anyone has anything they don't, that's why they make fun of her looks, as if one can't be pretty and smart at the same time. Sarah Palin is winning my respect anew. I'll vote for Palin again, this time with even more enthusiasm!

I wish Saran would come to Canada, I'd work for her election. We need a "Deborah" to lead us into battle.

Ha! I loved that last quote of a liberal whining that they don't have someone like Palin. The truth is they wouldn't know what to do with her even if they did. For example, what is she going to do to promote abortion rights? Go stumping on the right of mama grizzlys to eat their young? ROTFL! Yeah, right ... that'll win the hearts and minds of the American people. Go for it, Dems!

Of course, the November election is ours to lose at this point. The RINOs / socialists infecting the GOP leadership need to be tossed out to the street. Anyone they convince to park their Big Tent in the middle of the road is going to get run over. We dare not let them have their way.

The Femi-Nazi's hate Palin because she embodies everything they don't want women to have: a big family, responsibility to care for a special needs kid, deep faith, a devoted husband, recreational hunting and gun ownership, common sense administration, kinship with other "momma grizzlies" and pride to BE a woman.

I'd vote her to be president any day!

Me neither. Is it leftover from the "Obama can do no wrong attitude", perhaps? Blacks are only 4% (25,000 pop.) of Alaska. Perhaps blacks nationwide don't think she could relate to them??

Call me a snob but, personally, I'm getting tired of her exaggerated accent. (If she wants to make it nationally I think she should tone it down.) That may be part of her problem being widely accepted. (There are probably people in Britain who can't understand her brand of English.) I still think of Tina Fey every time I hear her talk so it's hard for me to take her seriously at times - although I like her and respect her enthusiasm. I'm not fond of the animal references all the time. Liberals who live in cities aren't going to relate very well to them.

You should read her book Going Rogue, it is amazing what she accomplished! When it came out the left had their fact-checkers all over it and they couldn't find anything dishonest in what she wrote. To even compare her with Obama is so insulting to her.

I can't believe you're all falling for Palin's bogus populism: the accent, the hunting, the trisomy son she hoisted in front of the bright lights at the RNC. Unlike the "average American woman," she has MONEY, by dint of her own efforts or not, which makes it considerably easier to raise a large family and parade them around the political circuit.

She's no more genuine than Obama, or any other politician.

It's always fun to see the women who could not do all the things Palin has done, exhibit the envy.

My recommendation is for Palin to continue in her own style to accomplish her political aims. Putting on a false face is just like any other lie.... it takes work to maintain the fiction.

At this time, Palin is more sympathetic to the pro-life movement than any other currently electable, national politician. She also has the ability to encourage people to do their best. For that reason, I support her.

Expect the women who use abortion to solve their personal problems to dislike a person who did not do that. Expect the feminists to hate Palin for proving that a woman could succeed in a career without killing her babies.

As for the money.......the Palins were not swimming in it until Sarah wrote her books. She's been quite generous to the pro-life organizations. The Alaska governor's salary was $125,000 per year, and it precluded accepting funds from any other source.

I don't have to know anything about the men running for sheriff in my county.

I just drive around my area to see who has what campaign sign in their yard.

This tells me everything I need to know.

Good one, Megan. So in terms of who you support you didn't "fall for" their stand on issues did you? No, you like what you heard, believed in what they said and I am sure voiced your opinion by voting for them.

Oh, and that little boy with Down Syndrome? His name is Trig and he is Sarah's son. I haven't seen a politician yet that hasn't "hoisted" their entire family on stage. Kind of like how Obama "hoisted" his girls right?

Do you level the same criticism toward the Obamas? Before the election, Michelle was earning more than the average American woman. Did this give the Obamas unfair advantage over other candidates?
