Walk for Life San Francisco

Rain threatened yesterday's March for Life in DC; it came through at today's Walk for Life in San Francisco.

Crowd size estimates ranged from "more than 10k" to 35k....

San Francisco being the US's liberal bastion and all, it should be no surprise the pro-abort counter-protesters - as minute a contingent as they comprised - were decidedly more robust.

Brad Mattes of Facing Life Head On was on hand to film for an upcoming episode and was kind enough to post a couple preliminary clips of the Walk on FLHO's YouTube page to give us a sampling. First, some pro-aborts...

Then the pro-lifers...

San Francisco Chronicle political blogger Joe Garofoli decided to check things out and reported:

Organizers claim this was their largest demo yet, with 35k demonstrators participating, many of them traveling/busing in from churches all over California.

Crowd estimates are always hard to verify, but their march did stretch along the Embarcadero from the Ferry Building to almost Fisherman's Wharf. (A reader just sent me a spread sheet with calculations estimating the crowd to be 22,809.)

The counter-demonstration, designed as sort of a "not in my house" defense of abortion rights here in liberal stronghold San Francisco, was pretty paltry. Nevertheless, the several dozen abortion rights demonstrators marched alongside the anti-abortion rights demonstrators along the march route.

Here's some video... of what their peaceful - if noisy - interaction looked like along the Embarcadero Saturday. A line of SF police officers walked between the 2. As the saying goes, "This is what democracy looks like."

Kudos to our West Coast pro-life family for a Walk well done.

Comments:

Is it just me, or were the abortion advocates sometimes chanting "clap your feet"?

The prolifers looked pretty placid, if somewhat bemused by the antics of the abortion advocates. The abortion advocates seemed to be trying to be living arguments in favor of abortion, a combination of "You wouldn't trust US with a baby, would you?" and "This is what happens when you let lefties breed."

It's the SAME cr*p wherever you go! These pro-aborts want death! They really aren't for choice unless the choice is abortion! Stand in front of an abortion clinic one time and their wicked chanting begins. I stand their thinking that they are all so evil and reprobate.....satan must have sent them himself. Here are some of the sad chants, and boy are they angry!!!!! .... "We love abortion!" "Kill them" "*uck you!" "Keep abortions safe and legal!" Here are a few of the more bizzare comments. [Proceed with caution while reading.] While I was holding the severed fetal head picture, a young man approached and yelled "Got some ketchup?" Another elderly man stopped and studied the photo and said, "Don't let someone do that to you."..huh??? Yet another young man, I wouldn't name THAT ugly thing!"...the sign simply says 'NO NAME' for the baby. No compassion. Just rage and severe anger!! Some women get out of their cars to b*tch us out. "You don't understand!" is a favorite of theirs. These women are of all ages and they all act alike. These people need God. Lord help us.

It's pretty obvious to me that these upset and hostile women have probably had an abortion at some point. Maybe more than one. It's obvious to me that the only way they will ever find peace is to take it to the Lord. He forgives. He is waiting. I wish they knew this.
