Thanks to all you readers who are contributing to the continued growth of JillStanek.com. Last month saw another record set of 94,000 unique visitors and 4.3 million hits. We've seen traffic increase by 1/3 just since January, when there were 60,000 visitors.
Because of this, the site software experiences panic attacks every now and then, like last week.
In an effort to keep our wonderful moderators from experiencing similar panic attacks, we're adding to the Mod Squad, as they're affectionately known.
Thanks to Bobby Bambino, Carder, Carla, and Chris Arsenault for agreeing to help moderate this motley crew!...
Thanks also to Laura Loo, who has agreed to help Angela with much needed proofreading. (Contact them when you see typos.)
Another reason we're adding moderators is because the schedules of 3 current moderators have rendered them unable to remain on in the role. Thanks to Jacqueline, Lauren (due any day!), and Valerie for all the energy they've expended here. I do hope we'll still see them comment when they can!
I'd like to close by specially thanking the Big Three, Bethany, Jasper, and MK, for their diligence. The time they spend here is invaluable. Indeed, their reward will have to be in heaven, because it's certainly not going to be much more on earth than a hearty cyber handclasp... :)
WHAT???? STILL NO RAISE????? This is OUTRAGEOUS!
Bobby, Carla, Carder and Chris! Welcome aboard! I'm thrilled to have you. I mean really, really thrilled!Posted by: mk at June 2, 2008 3:22 PM
MK, for all of your hard work, allow me to buy you dinner from a drive-thru of the nearest spanish-speaking hamburger joint in town?Posted by: Andrew at June 2, 2008 3:37 PM
You are too kind. But I've already shared a DC pizza with you. That'll just have to hold me over.
Besides, you're not in Chicago, are you? Which means it would cost me a fortune in gas to get to wherever you are. I'd have to pay hundreds of dollars for my free 99c cheese burger...lolPosted by: mk at June 2, 2008 3:50 PM
Jill, your archives feature is still experiencing problems!Posted by: Edyt at June 2, 2008 3:55 PM
Congratulations, Mod Squad!Posted by: Janet at June 2, 2008 4:05 PM
Thank you to Jill and the mod squad the experienced and the new.Posted by: Brian at June 2, 2008 4:11 PM
Edyt, thanks and sorry. Sigh...
MK, triple raise?
Andrew, congrats on upcoming Baby Bear!
Arsenault? Carla? The Kid???
I'm not worthy.Posted by: carder at June 2, 2008 5:27 PM
I'll miss the departing crew. Those gals could really hold their own. Never seen the keyboard ignite so quickly...Posted by: carder at June 2, 2008 5:29 PM
Does this mean I have to post my picture in the "Who We Are" square?Posted by: carder at June 2, 2008 6:01 PM
"Does this mean I have to post my picture in the "Who We Are" square?"
Yes. As my first act as moderator, I order you, Carder, to send Bethany a picture for Who's Who.Posted by: Bobby Bambino at June 2, 2008 6:09 PM
Bambino, again, I'm not worthy.Posted by: carder at June 2, 2008 6:15 PM
Carder, you know not the depths of my bumishness...Posted by: Bobby Bambino at June 2, 2008 6:34 PM
Can I be a moderator if I promise not to talk about the Pope?Posted by: Jess at June 2, 2008 6:54 PM
LOL, Jess.Posted by: Bobby Bambino at June 2, 2008 7:01 PM
Bobby, I wanted to thank you for the book! I got it in the mail today. I am reading away. Thank you and God Bless you!!!Posted by: heather at June 2, 2008 7:11 PM
My pleasure, Heather.Posted by: Bobby Bambino at June 2, 2008 7:14 PM
My pleasure, Heather.Posted by: Bobby Bambino at June 2, 2008 7:14 PM
Thanks again. It's very interesting so far. I am reading about him and his relationship with his dad as well as his sister's suicide.Posted by: heather at June 2, 2008 7:22 PM
I want that picture on Bethany's desk by tomorrow A.M...you got that? Otherwise, I dock your pay!Posted by: mk at June 2, 2008 7:23 PM
My Fellow Modette,
First let me figure out how to get the picture on the computer and I'll take it from there.
So what's starting pay?Posted by: carder at June 2, 2008 7:27 PM
To all of the new mods...congratulations!:)Posted by: heather at June 2, 2008 7:57 PM
Hayyyy, How come I'm not a mod?
It's because I believe in evolution isn't it?! ISN'T IT?!!
Just kidding, congrats to all of you!
(Like I have time to be a mod anyway)Posted by: Elizabeth at June 2, 2008 8:20 PM
Well were not really allowed to discuss what were paid, and since mine is three times yours...well, let's just say the number has a LOT of zeros in it.
Oh wait, that's right, it ONLY has zeros in it...lol.Posted by: mk at June 2, 2008 8:23 PM
Looking at the list of Mods, I'd say Jill went down the list of posters alphabetically and you're an E. You were probably next on the list if one of the C's had said no! lol...I'm kidding! But it is kind of a weird coincidence isn't it? Bethany, Bobby, Carder, Carla, Chris????Posted by: mk at June 2, 2008 8:25 PM
What I want to know, is WHO in this "mod squad" has the afro?Posted by: Patricia at June 2, 2008 8:56 PM
That is interesting.
I call discrimination against people with names starting with the letter "E."
Just imagine if my tag name was "Liz." Geez, I'd never have a shot at becoming a mod since it's done alphabetically apparently lol.Posted by: Elizabeth at June 2, 2008 9:24 PM
MK, by that standard, I should be next in line. My name technically starts with a D...Posted by: Edyt at June 2, 2008 9:57 PM
So MK - when can we get the keys and take the site out for a ride?
Maybe we could live up to our name and you know, add some horsepower here and there, perhaps some pinstripes...

Bobby, Carla, Carder and Chris.
Live long and prosper .\\//
We toyed with the idea of having someone pro choice moderate. Not yet, but maybe one day...
I'd say, just the fact that we seriously entertained the idea tells you how very unique Jill's site is in the prolife/prochoice debate.
Besides, then you'd have to send us your picture!Posted by: mk at June 3, 2008 5:56 AM
Rev up those engines...
Bake.Posted by: mk at June 3, 2008 6:01 AM
"What I want to know, is WHO in this "mod squad" has the afro?"
Patricia, I'd say my beard is the closest thing to an afro the mod squad has.Posted by: Bobby Bambino at June 3, 2008 6:19 AM
Oh no, I was just kidding! There's no way I'd want to moderate here.
You have my kitty's picture, isn't that enough?Posted by: Edyt at June 3, 2008 12:19 PM
Bobby, Carla, Carder and Chris!
Congratulations, you all. Bobby, you ever think about changing your Handle to something starting with "C"?Posted by: Doug at June 3, 2008 10:05 PM
@Doug: Cobby Cambino?Posted by: Rae at June 3, 2008 11:15 PM
For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control.
So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for his sake; but bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God.
2 Tim 1:7-8
This saying is trustworthy: If we have died with him we shall also live with him; if we persevere we shall also reign with him. But if we deny him he will deny us. If we are unfaithful he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself. Remind people of these things and charge them before God to stop disputing about words. This serves no useful purpose since it harms those who listen. Be eager to present yourself as acceptable to God, a workman who causes no disgrace, imparting the word of truth without deviation. Avoid profane, idle talk, for such people will become more and more godless, and their teaching will spread like gangrene.
2 Tim 2:11-17
