But meshing everyone's complicated summer scheduling means I had 4 grandsons visit last week for our church's VBS and am taking 3 grandsons (along with my dad, bless his heart) camping today through Tuesday afternoon. Kelli and the mods will again keep the blog afloat, and this time there will be some posting while I'm gone - Jivin J's Life Links, Susie A's (Prolifer)ations, and Laura Loo's Lunch Breaks....
Hopefully while I'm gone the software move will be completed! Meanwhile, here are a few photos from last week, starting with a shot of the boys-will-be-boys wrestling in bed (click all to enlarge)...
This is us one night after VBS, wearing our "High Seas Expedition" (this year's theme) t-shirts...
And this last one is of the boys and Grandpa, eating ice cream after the VBS closing program...
UPDATE 7/29, 1:20p: Am sitting in the screened-in porch eating lunch with Grandson #4, who did not go home last night after VBS as previously planned. He's explaining the sound locusts make to me, among many other things. So bear with me as I take one more day of blogging vacation... :)
7/26, 1:08p: We have 4 of our 5 grandsons visiting to attend our church's annual Vacation Bible School through Wednesday, ages 9, 6, and 3x2.
In my old age am no longer equipped to multi-task, so I'm afraid my blogging must be put on hold until Thursday morning.
Our wonderful moderators and Kelli will still be hanging around the blog, so comments will remain open. Thanks!
Enjoy the little ones, Jill !Posted by: RSD at July 26, 2010 1:18 PM

My son was finally old enough to attend VBS at my church last week and he LOVED it! He wanted to know why he couldn't go again today :-)

Hope you make memories that last a lifetime. This is a camping trip wish for you. May there be enough difficulty that you break a good sweat. May you see with the eyes of your spirit the beauty of nature and may it be like medicine for your soul. May you hear at least one cry of a wild animal in the distance to remind you that some things are best left alone. And in seeing nature may you get a better glimpse into your own spirit. Happy, happy camping. :)Posted by: myrtle miller at August 1, 2010 1:08 PM
Have a great vacation with grand kids Jill. You remind me of the old poem about "Babies (and grandbabies for that matter) don't keep" Enjoy the time and the love. I tell parents that L-O-V-E is spelled T-I-M-E because it is something you can never get again. God bless.Posted by: Prolifer L at August 1, 2010 1:37 PM

Well folks, I am going to be a grandmother -- normally I would be thrilled, but my son and his girlfiend have NO money, NO steady jobs, and NO common sense! In addition, her family is somewhat racist, which doesn't help matters any.
So please, pray for these two nitwit kits and their unborn baby! Oh yea, and there's that little matter of my house, too.

Congratulations Phillymiss on being a grandma! Maybe this precious baby will be the voice of conscience with her racist family and convict them of their evil bigotry...
Children have the power to bridge those kinds of gaps.
My husband and i didn't have any money when we had our son either. but it all worked out. I will pray these two grow up quickly and embrace the awesome privilege of parenthood. I saw a baby transform my constantly broke and drunk friend into mother of the year and ended her partying and throwing her money away. I hope having a baby transforms your son and his girlfriend the same way.
I am still praying about your house! you're getting huge from a fellow "Philly girl" well, from the suburbs anyhow.Posted by: Sydney M. at August 2, 2010 2:18 PM
