  • Priests for Life reports that their lawsuit against Obamacare’s contraceptive mandate was dismissed by a U.S. District Court judge in Washington, D.C. Father Frank Pavone states:

The judge’s decision today is a complete contradiction to Judge Cogan’s decision of just a few days ago in New York for organizations situated similarly to us and using exactly the same arguments.

The New York decision recognized that the religious nonprofits were being forced to cooperate with evil. Our judge, instead, claims that we are not being forced to cooperate with evil. Our judge’s decision is wrong, and we are confident of victory in our appeal.

  • Wesley J. Smith says that laws dealing with Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST) “are increasingly authorizing doctors to unilaterally overturn surrogate wishes and patient advance directives….”

The laws vary from state to state, but in Vermont and Maryland, a physician can place a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order on a patient’s chart without the consent of the patient or designated patient advocate. Smith writes:

Not coincidentally, Vermont has a single payer healthcare plan it can’t pay for. Some have called for the cost savings to come from assisted suicide legalization – now done – and healthcare rationing.

ihearttj99-1351318971_600 2Read backstory, “BREAKING: Carhart’s victims identified.”

Over 250 people gathered at Germantown Reproductive Health Services abortion clinic in Germantown, Maryland, this morning to demand justice for the death of 29-year-old Jennifer McKenna Morbelli (pictured right), who perished at the hand of late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart on February 7, along with her 33-week-old preborn baby, Madison Leigh.

As protesters gathered outside, Carhart carried on with his abortion business as usual inside.

ABC News and the Washington Post were among news outlets that attended the press conference/prayer vigil.

  • The Passionate Pro-Lifer discusses her civil attempts to communicate with a company who does business with Planned Parenthood, yet claims to be pro-life. Fr. Frank Pavone once said we could end abortion if everyone refused to do business with the abortion industry. Are we “just doing our jobs” when we do business with an industry who kills babies?

Coming soon, “The best book ever written on abortion”

There is a banner ad at the top of my site offering 35% off pre-orders of the soon-to-be-released book, Abandoned: The Untold Stories of the Abortion Wars, written by Dr. Monica Miller.

My endorsement of Abandoned will be on its back cover, along with the endorsement of several pro-life leaders like Fr. Frank Pavone, Joe Scheidler, David Bereit, Teresa Tomeo, Al Kresta, and best-selling author Dinesh D’Souza, who wrote in the book’s forward:

Quite simply, this is the best book ever written on abortion. Beautifully written, this is about the consequences of Roe v. Wade, as seen through the eyes of one woman, who tells a clear and compelling story with passion but without fanaticism. On a subject that is often heavy and depressing, this is a hard-hitting yet compassionate and moving book. Honestly, I wouldn’t have thought such a narrative could be done, only now it has been done.

I couldn’t more highly recommend Abandoned. I couldn’t put the manuscript down once I opened it this winter. In fact, I quoted a compelling section from Abandoned in a post back in February.

New Stanek poll: What are your thoughts on the situation between Bishop Zurek and Father Pavone?

I have a new poll question up: Regarding the situation between Bishop Patrick Zurek and Father Frank Pavone, which also involves Priests for Life, complete the following sentence: “The evidence I have seen leads me to think…” There are 10 options listed, three for Catholics, three for Protestants, three for secularists, and one for all.
