Pro-life photos of the week: Pro-choice expressions at a pro-life rally

This week Lila Rose and Live Action sponsored a rally in front of the Planned Parenthood located two blocks from the White House.

At one point an unidentified pro-abortion man heckled Rose by standing at the podium alongside her yelling, “Stop interfering with women’s healthcare decisions!” Click all photos to enlarge…

A female deathscort gave Rose the stink eye…

The Daily Caller snapped the above pictures. I attended the rally as well, and I got a different look from the female deathscort…

Stanek one of “7 women working tirelessly to attack equal rights for women”

Affirmation comes from the strangest places.

787971840mActually, the sort of affirmation I might strangely prefer is acknowledgement from the other side, backhanded as it may be, that I’m being heard. The hope is the messaging is getting through to someone over there, somewhere, and that I’m not just preaching to the choir.

Most here know of Amanda Marcotte, a militant pro-abortion feminist who writes some of the most acerbic, jaw-dropping stuff out there. Amanda may be exasperating and even infuriating, but she is refreshing in that she takes her movement’s beliefs to their fanatical conclusions, which they more often than not try to hide.

That’s the set-up for a piece Marcotte just had posted on Salon entitled, “7 women working tirelessly to attack equal rights for other women” (same piece at AlterNet“7 women working tirelessly to screw over other women,”) with the subtitle, “Sadly, these women find it personally advantageous to reject feminism and continue perpetuating sexist social norms.”

So I made Marcotte’s list of “women who have made a career out of opposing women’s struggle for social, political and economic equality,” along with icons Phyllis Schlafly (“original gangster”) and Lila Rose (Planned Parenthood demoniz[er]”) and other dedicated conservative women I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting – quite an honor.

About me Marcotte wrote:

3. Jill Stanek. Many women have found their calling in attacking contraception and abortion access, but Stanek, an ardent blogger, brings a hatefulness and obsessiveness that helps her stand out from an already unpleasant crowd. After getting old enough that unwanted pregnancy stopped being a personal concern, Stanek “discovered” that contraception has been evil all along, dedicating much of her blog to arguing that pregnancy prevention is a uniquely modern evil.

Stanek also notoriously celebrated domestic violence, arguing that men should hit women who have abortions. “That spontaneous slap was the reaction of a real man who a woman had just told she aborted his baby,” she said of a notorious scene in Godfather II in which a gangster hits his wife. “Compare that to the modern-day cowardly male response, ‘It’s your choice. Whatever you decide, I’ll support you.’”

Sometimes I wonder if what I write does any good. And I’m not as prolific as I’d like to be. To be viewed by someone on the other side as “an ardent blogger,” who “stand[s] out from an already unpleasant crowd” is quite the compliment.

I don’t need to tell you that which pro-lifers promote is the opposite of how Marcotte portrays it. The reality of Marcotte’s “equal rights” movement is that over half the preborn babies they kill are female, the pills they push are dangerous artificial steroids that kill women as well as their tiny human offspring, and the sexual abandonment they hail has wrought nothing but brokenness and disease.

And so, as hateful, obsessive, and unpleasant our messaging may be, we press on, although we do try to present truths in the spirit of Christ. He was hated, too, but He presented His messaging in a God-pleasing way. That’s my goal. I fail more than succeed at that, but I’m working on it.

So, thanks for the encouragement, Amanda. And seriously, I’d love to someday meet you for coffee.

Apologies in advance if that was somehow a misogynist request. :)

Pro-life news brief 8-20-14

  • “Intellectual” Richard Dawkins told someone on Twitter that bringing a child with Down Syndrome to birth is “immoral.”
  • An Alabama abortion clinic (which couldn’t meet safety standards at its current location) has been given permission to relocate.
  • Martin Haskell’s abortion clinic in Sharonville, Ohio, is dropping its appeal. They’ll stop performing surgical abortions on Friday. The clinic apparently plans on trying to stay in business by offering RU-486 chemical abortions.

  • Newsweek has a long article on Lila Rose’s and Katie Stack’s respective undercover trips into abortion clinics and pregnancy centers. What’s really interesting to me is how Katie Stack (pictured; who appeared on MTV’s No Easy Decision) now describes her abortion:

Stack describes her choice to terminate a pregnancy, which she did in college, as “empowering” and says it aided her in “adapting a feminist framework” that led to her investigations. “It was the first time I felt like I had any control over anything, having that abortion,” she says. “I’m happy with my abortion. People get uncomfortable when I say my abortion was a good experience, but it was.”

During the No Easy Decision program in 2010, Stack cried on at least two occasions and mentioned how she had difficulty being around her newborn nephew after the abortion (starting at 8:30). At that time, she also said she viewed abortion as a “parenting decision” because she acknowledged her child as “a baby.”

That doesn’t sound empowering to me. Only in pro-abort La-La Land does staying in a hotel room because you can’t imagine seeing your newborn nephew equal “empowering.”

After the airing of the No Easy Decision program, Stack then tried to start a pro-abortion version of Live Action called The Crisis Project, which hasn’t had quite as much success.

Planned Parenthood Indy’s BDSM pusher “no longer employed” – a LIE?

Terminated Planned Parenthood BDSM employeeUPDATE 6/13 7:10a: Planned Parenthood claims it was lying to Live Action on the call. According to USAToday.com:

A Planned Parenthood official acknowledged the staff member who took the call Thursday set up an appointment for the woman posing as the teen, even though she knew it was a Live Action operative.

Planned Parenthood staff went along with the caller’s request to meet with the specific counselor only because the agency would never tell a client about confidential personnel or employee issues, said spokeswoman Tammy Lieber.

“We knew it was a fake,” she said.

UPDATE 6/12 5:20p:  Here’s the audio.

UPDATE 6/12 2:45p: Per Lila Rose on Facebook, Live Action made a follow-up call to the Indianapolis Planned Parenthood today and was told the supposedly ex-staffer was still working there. Stay tuned.

6/12 12:11p: The first casualty of Live Action’s new investigation exposing Planned Parenthood’s proclivity to introduce minors to the dark and dangerous world of BDSM has been seen. According to IndyStar.com last night:

Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky says an undercover video released Wednesday by a pro-life group doesn’t reflect the agency’s training or standards and that the employee advising the fake client no longer works at the Indianapolis Midtown center….

Planned Parenthood spokeswoman Tammy Lieber would not reveal whether the employee was fired or left voluntarily, or when that occurred, due to privacy policies.

But according to Live Action’s Lila Rose in an email this morning, the employee seen on video giving explicit BDSM advice to someone she thought was a 15-yr-old was employed at Planned Parenthood’s Midtown location as recently as June 9, two days before Live Action’s video release. “We made an appointment with her just this Monday for today [Thursday],” wrote Rose.

In a statement, PPIK CEO Betty Cockrum tried to confuse the issue by stating, “We are here to ensure that persons of all ages may ask us anything….” iniplannedparenthood-bettycockrum

But Live Action’s investigator never even asked about BDSM. The counselor took it upon herself to introduce the topic, going on to describe hitting, domination, leather, whips, handcuffs, and anal sex as well as recommend a violent, sexually graphic book, porn, and sex toys. If that weren’t inappropriate enough, the counselor spiced up the conversation by adding explicit details of her own BDSM sex life.

Cockrum, pictured right, added Planned Parenthood well-worn excuse, “[T]he heavy editing of this video makes it impossible to know the full exchange that took place….”

But the only reason this video was edited was due to the X-rated content provided by Planned Parenthood employee to a supposed 15-year-old.

Furthermore, an extended cut is available for adults to view, and Live Action will make the entire video available for viewing upon request.

Planned Parenthood’s 50 shades of BDSM

Finally, as Live Action asked in a statement:

They [Planned Parenthood] announce terminating the employee for violating “professional standards” but never specify what those standards are. Meanwhile, their BDSM training video remains online, and they continue to list “resources” that tell kids that torture sex is totally fine. So what exactly did the staffer in our video do to bring the wrath of Planned Parenthood down on her?

Well, Planned Parenthood?

BREAKING: Live Action launches “Planned Parenthood EXPOSED” campaign

Live Action Planned Parenthood ExposedToday, Lila Rose and the Live Action team are launching a new comprehensive campaign, “Lies, Corruption, and Scandal: Six Years of Exposing Planned Parenthood.”

Beginning today, Live Action will hand-deliver a packet to every U.S. congressman and senator that includes a cover letter  providing an overview of Live Action’s investigative findings against Planned Parenthood over the course of six years, and a  report detailing Planned Parenthood’s expansive malfeasance.

At the same time Live Action is conducting a public campaign by unveiling a new website, PlannedParenthoodExposed.com, launching a petition drive, and releasing a video that gives a truly shocking six minute synopsis of Live Action’s six years of undercover investigations of the United States’ largest abortion corporation.

Those findings include:

  • Child sexual abuse
  • Racism
  • Deceptive and manipulative counseling
  • Sex trafficking help
  • False advertising and fraud
  • Sex-selective abortion
  • Lies about clinic safety
  • Here is that video. Each of Live Action’s undercover investigations has been shocking in and of itself. But ultimately each has revealed only a sliver of Planned Parenthood’s evil underbelly.

Put together, Live Action’s findings are truly unbelievable, particularly when one takes into consideration the fact that taxpayers hand Planned Parenthood over half a billion dollars EVERY YEAR – $1.4+ million A DAY.

    YouTube Preview Image

Live Action is urging our legislators to halt funding of Planned Parenthood.

I mean, really. Fund an organization that is willing to cover up the statutory rape of a 13-yr-old by a 31-yr-old? That is “excited” to take donations specifically to abort black babies? That lies to vulnerable women about child development? That aids and abets child sex traffickers, whose victims may also have been illegally smuggled into the United States? That engages in false advertising (at the highest levels) and fraud? That is willing to commit sex-selective abortions of baby girls, just because they are girls? That lies to prospective patients about the safety of their clinics? That lobbies in favor of infanticide?

Seriously, what is to like about Planned Parenthood, not loathe?

The only explanation for a politician to support taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood is corruption – mutual back-scratching.

We must stop this madness. Be sure to sign Live Action’s petition and get the word out.

    • Kansans for Life points out that when the cameras stopped rolling, Planned Parenthood dramatically scaled back not only their rhetoric but their lawsuit against the newly-passed Pro-Life Protections Act. PP has changed its tune and is amending its original suit to:

      1. withdraw opposition to the statement “abortion terminates the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being”;

      2. withdraw opposition to the information about the pain-capability of the unborn child; but

      3. retain opposition to a requirement that each clinic’s online home page feature a hyperlink to the state’s informed consent website.

    • Live Action encourages pro-lifers to join various pro-life leaders this Thursday, August 8, at a March on the Media rally to denounce the media blackout on abortion. We have all seen the wall-to-wall coverage of other stories involving deaths, but when it comes to abortion, the same media turns a blind eye to it.

Lila Rose of Live Action, Charmaine Yoest of Americans United for Life, and our own Jill Stanek will be among those at the rally in D.C., while others will be conducting a social media rally on Twitter.

    • Life Training Institute uses the movie 42: The Jackie Robinson Story to explain why men in particular should involve themselves in the abortion debate.
    • Big Blue Wave suggests the “big tent” is needed in the pro-life movement, so that people of differing faiths (or no faith) feel welcomed in protecting the preborn.
    • Albert Mohler believes the U.S. fertility rate is taking “baby steps forward to 1.90 per woman in 2013, up slightly from 1.89 in 2012. Last year’s figure was the lowest recorded in 25 years.” He writes:

As recent cultural discussions have made fully clear, Americans differ on the meaning of children. Not everyone sees children as gifts to be received with great joy. But no other response will do when thinking in accordance with what Scripture clearly reveals. While it is undoubtedly true that congregations offer a family-friendly context that supports parents and parenthood, that context is surely formed and the children in them nourished by the joy and thanksgiving of parents and the beliefs that the congregation holds and teaches.

      In other words, worldview matters.

    • Clinic Quotes shares a statement from former abortion worker Jewels Green, who reveals how abortion clinics determine the age of aborted children:

Tiny feet were measured beside me more times than I can count. Measuring tiny feet was how abortion facilities matched pre-abortion estimates of fetal age with the reality after death. The age determined by the measurement of the tiny feet was the age put on the forms that I completed for the state Department of Health abortion statistics.

Central to this debate has been the assertion that abortion has become possible only because the Catholic Church has lost its hold on the people of Ireland. It is a point of agreement between both sides in this debate, albeit for different reasons.

Dr. Nadal sees the significant drop in church attendance and the secularization of society as contributors.
