Stanek weekend question: What would you say to an abortionist?

Leroy-CarhartOn April 22, Brendan O’Morchoe of Students for Life of America wrote at LifeSiteNews.com about his experience of finding himself on the same plane as late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart:

Last Saturday, I was boarding a flight coming home to Virginia from Omaha, Nebraska…. It is the moments like what happened on my flight Saturday night, confronted by evil, that keep me going.

Planned Parenthood pays $2 million for wrongful death, press ignores

Tanya-ReevesUPDATE 2/11, 9:40a: Thomas More Society, on behalf of Pro-Life Action League, filed a formal complaint with the Illinois Dept. of Professional Regulation requesting an investigation of Planned Parenthood.

2/10, 3:17p: Late last week came the news that Planned Parenthood of Illinois, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation have agreed to pay $2 million in a wrongful death settlement to the surviving young son of a woman who died after an abortion at a Chicago Planned Parenthood in 2012.

Planned Parenthood Obamacare “navigator” fined for campaign finance violation

2013-11-20_1048 From the Burlington Free Press, November 19:

BREAKING: IL Supreme Court upholds 18-yr-old parental notification law

breakingToday, in a unanimous ruling, the Illinois Supreme Court issued a decision to uphold a parental notification law enacted way back in 1995.

This is FABULOUS news, since Illinois has become known as the abortion dumping ground of the Midwest – the only state without any parental involvement law in force, while all surrounding states have such measures.

Thomas More Society, the pro-life legal team based in Illinois that has been pushing enforcement of this law, has posted a synopsis of this incredibly drawn out court battle.

Rep calls for House hearing on Planned Parenthood following death

The chairman of the U.S. House committee conducting an investigation of Planned Parenthood is now calling for a public hearing in light of the death of Tonya Reaves last week after a second-trimester abortion at a Chicago Planned Parenthood.

Congressman Cliff Stearns, Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, told Fox News Planned Parenthood has been stonewalling his investigation, and he now wants to “put them under oath”:

Governor who sentenced thousands of babies to death given 14 years

Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was just sentenced to 14 years in prison on federal corruption charges. As governor Blagojevich sentenced thousands of babies to death, signing an executive order in 2005 to fund embryonic stem cell research in Illinois. Blagojevich also filed an “emergency rule” in 2005 forcing Illinois pharmacies and pharmacists to dispense […]

New defunding tool: Salaries of Planned Parenthood affiliate CEOs (and how to easily find them)

I was interested to read yesterday that one reason the New Hampshire Executive Council decided to defund Planned Parenthood of Northern New England was due to the exorbitant $250,000 salary made by this supposed nonprofit’s CEO, Steve Trombley (pictured right). Trombley’s salary is more in the news today. From the Concord Monitor:

Pro-lifers protest Planned Parenthood of Illinois’ “Generations Gala”

On May 5, Planned Parenthood of Illinois held a “Generations Gala: A Celebration of Healthy Families,” at the Chicago History Museum. So audacious for American’s largest abortion provider to pretend to “celebrate” nonexistent “generations” and “healthy families,” thanks to it. But that’s PP’s schtick: to claim it stands for the very things it destroys. PPI’s […]
