ACLU to religious groups: Pay for illegal immigrants’ abortions, contraceptives

aclu_religionandbeliefby Kelli

… [T]he ACLU wants to force religious organizations to pay for abortions for illegal immigrants who have been raped and become pregnant.

The civil rights group also wants religious groups which receive federal funding to give out free or subsidized contraception, suggesting that such assistance is necessary “to meet the basic needs” of underage teen illegal immigrants.

Stanek weekend Q: Is abortion your litmus test when voting?

voteprolife16Leslie at The Passionate Prolifer Turned Abolitionist took exception this week to KNUS talk show host Krista Kafer, also a fellow at Colorado Christian University, who said, according to Leslie, “she wouldn’t have a problem voting for a ‘pro-choice’ candidate since abortion is just one of a number of issues women care about.”

Breaking, Gallup: “Pro-choice” Americans at record low – 41%

Fabulous news from Gallup, today:

The 41% of Americans who now identify themselves as “pro-choice” is down from 47% last July and is one percentage point below the previous record low in Gallup trends, recorded in May 2009. Fifty percent now call themselves “pro-life,” one point shy of the record high, also from May 2009.

So while the number of Americans considering themselves pro-life has remained steady since 2009, the number calling themselves pro-choice has dived. Click to enlarge:

Continuing on with Gallup story:

From Modern Healthcare, today:

The plaintiffs include 11-hospital Franciscan Alliance, Mishawaka, IN, and five-hospital Catholic Health Services of Long Island (NY).

The lawsuits were filed on behalf of 43 Catholic hospitals, schools and churches across the nation in U.S. District Court in eight states and in Washington, D.C.

Dolan: Obama compromise on contraception mandate “a hill of beans”; opposition intensifies

Just as the mainstream media initially failed to report the erupting controversy over President Obama’s contraceptive mandate, they are again ignoring the sustained uproar against it. MSM thinks Obama’s faux concession on February 10 settled the matter. According to The Hill on February 13:

When even Chris Matthews opposes Obama’s contraceptive mandate, you know it’s in trouble

When even infamously liberal Catholic and Obama worshipper Chris “Thrill Up My Leg” Matthews has problems with the Obama administration’s mandate forcing religious institutions to cover contraception, abortifacients, and sterilization in their insurance policies, you know it’s in trouble. “It gets to that interesting point to me, which is frightening, when the state tells the […]
