My new role at Susan B. Anthony List

SBA-20_logoOriginally posted June 23, 2015

Dear faithful readers of JillStanek.com:

First, the exciting news: I am honored to have accepted a position at Susan B. Anthony List as its National Campaign Chair! Read more at WorldNetDaily.com. Also read SBA’s press release and a a blurb in Politico’s Pulse.

I have been a long-time admirer of Marjorie Dannenfelser and the SBA List team, many of whom are friends. I partnered with the group during the 2012 election cycle for a bus tour exposing Barack Obama’s abortion/infanticide extremism.

This is a new position, for which I will travel the country on behalf of SBA List, speaking to pro-life activists, donors, and voters to promote SBA List’s aggressive campaign strategy to elect a pro-life president in 2016 and advance the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

This will be a permanent position. After the 2016 election there will be the need to conduct another national pro-life political campaign… and another… and another.

But of immediate importance to me, as you know, is passage of the Pain-Capable Act, because as an RN I witnessed the excruciating deaths of 20+ week abortion survivors who would have been saved had a 20-week abortion ban been in place.

Electing a pro-life president is the gateway to enacting this legislation into law. And, of course, a president also wields a tremendous amount of influence in other areas of importance to pro-lifers, such as funding abortion groups and the pro-death agenda, judicial nominations, and other pro-life/abortion legislation.

I witnessed firsthand how devastating pro-abortion legislators can be when I watched then-state Senator Barack Obama vote four times against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act and take a leadership role in seeing its defeat.

Now, the sad news. Because my position at SBA List will be full-time, I have made the difficult decision to grind almost all activities at JillStanek.com to a halt, after 10 years of blogging here. I will basically be keeping the blog open now for archival purposes, posting my own blogs very infrequently.

After this week we will be streamlining my blog to just those postings, which will also be published at Live Action News. This means no more quotes of the day, pro-life videos of the day, pro-life blog buzz, or pro-life news briefs. Also, there will be no more commenting. All comments will be directed to my Facebook page.

2009-06-04-MSNBC-StanekIt has been a great run. After all, were it not for my blog I would never have been named “Worst Person in the World” by Keith Olbermann!

That goofiness aside, we broke many stories of importance here, including information on late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart’s victims in 2013.

But times online have changed. The timing of all this is good – and God’s.

In the beginning (10 years online are like dog years), pro-lifers had to check several blog and web sources a day to get all the news they needed. Now, in combination with social media, Live Action News, LifeNews.com, LifeSiteNews.com, and StanekReport.com capture everything we need to know. And there are now many great pro-life writers.

11297838_10153274799331622_1900318693_nSpeaking of StanekReport.com, it will soon become HarmsReport.com. Pro-lifer Monte Harms has been the strongest contributor to SR.com behind the scenes and will be ably taking the helm. (Thanks also to Carole, Susie, and Josh for their help with SR.com.)

Monte has a rich pro-life background, having volunteered for Justice for All and Protest ABQ and done sidewalk counseling at abortion mills. He has also run the blogs Stand for Life and Pro-Life New Mexico.

And what about Kelli, our site’s glue? I’m happy to report she will begin working for Live Action News next week, doing much of the same work she did here. This blog would not have been held together were it not for Kelli, who has poured herself into it for over six years.

Kelli is but one dear friend I have made here. I can’t begin to name all the wonderful moderators and volunteers who have dedicated themselves on this blog, although I must highlight some special people who were here from the beginning, or nearly the beginning – Bethany, Carla, LauraLoo, and MK.

Special thanks to Carder, Hans, and Susie, who have steadfastly posted great stuff here, so helpful to our cause. And I’d also like to thank our current mods: Del, Sydney, and last but not least Bobby Bambino, who has also been a mod since we began having mods!

But most of all, I want to thank YOU, pro-life readers and activists, for your support of this blog but moreso the sanctity of life.

Prayers appreciated!

For Life Together,

Ted Nugent: “Abortion, not guns, eliminating inner-city population”

The purpose of kicking little Billy out of school for drawing a picture of a gun or wearing a pro-gun t-shirt or eating a locked and loaded pop-tart is to simply vilify guns, or in the words of Eric “Fast & Furious” Holder, to “brainwash” Americans against the Second Amendment….

Of course, if a kid showed up wearing a shirt with a picture of the president’s mug on it and the words “Like President Obama, I support abortion,” that would be just fine as that message fits the “fundamental transformation” agenda even though abortion, not guns, is what’s eliminating the inner-city population.

The facts, however interesting, are irrelevant when they get in the way of a leftist agenda.

Review of the movie “Doonby”

In the movie Doonby, Sam Doonby, a 40-something-yr-old drifter (John Schneider), aimlessly wanders into the town of Smithville, Texas, and promptly begins being in the right place at the right time.

Doonby saves his bar owner boss from robbers, stops a deranged psycho from raping and murdering his girlfriend, and pulls a little boy from a shopping cart just before a Mack truck smashes into it.

Doonby is evasive about his origins but is nevertheless an easy-on-the-eyes real nice guy who can even play guitar and sing…

Kmiec resigns, Obama shuns

UPDATE 5/3, 11:46a: I forgot to mention that Kmiec wanted his resignation effective on the date of the Feast of the Assumption, August 15, but the State Dept. rejected that request and bumped up his last day by 2-1/2 months to May 31.

5/2, 7:36p: This is so rich. Again we see what goes around comes around.

New Stanek WND.com column, “NYC’s bill targeting pregnancy centers: DOA”

Momentum was on their side when last October abortion proponents introduced legislation in the liberally toxic New York City Council to hamstring pregnancy care centers.

Bill No. 371, which mimics ordinances passed in Baltimore and Austin, would force PCCs in NYC to post signage that they do not commit abortions or distribute contraceptives. It would also force them to notify clients if there were no doctor in the house….

But then came a report two weeks ago from the NYC Department of Health….

For Bill No. 371, the timing of this report could not have been worse….

Now Bill No. 371 looks not only cruel but harmful to women….

NARAL didn’t help its cause when it released its annual report last week, giving New York a grade of “A-” for abortion advocacy and ranking it the 12th-best state to “procure a hasty abortion,” as Juno would say.

Nor did the pro-abortion think tank Guttmacher Institute help, also reporting last week that U.S. abortions are slightly up after declining for almost 20 years….

My prediction?…

New Stanek WND.com column, “MTV abortion special: Happy for the kill”

On Dec. 28, MTV aired the abortion special, “No Easy Decision,” apparently yielding to pressure from abortion ideologues upset that its two highly rated shows on unplanned pregnancies, “16 and Pregnant” and “Teen Mom,” are both life-affirming….

If you haven’t watched it, you can do so on MTV’s website….

MTV aired “No Easy Decision” as a half-hour special sans commercials on a Tuesday night at 11:30 p.m., which says how much MTV really wanted to do this….

Abortion groups like NARAL and Feministing promoted “No Easy Decision” in advance. Afterward abortion proponents were elated….

Well, I’ve watched “No Easy Decision” four times now only to increasingly wonder what there was for the other side to crow about….

Aside from Dr. Drew’s advocacy of contraception and abortion and the obviously prepped abortion clinic counselor on the phone, the reality of abortion decision-making and its aftermath came painfully through. Four of those unhelpful realities noted were…

This is the show that “thrilled” abortion proponents, as the pro-abort blog Jezebel exclaimed?

It seems to me the pro-abort crowd is by this time in the history of legalized abortion merely happy with crumbs, for the simple display of abortion, even with all its catastrophic negatives….

New Stanek WND.com column, “Pelosi’s sorest loser: Driehaus

UPDATE 12/10, 6:20: Friend Sheila alerted me to this December 8 Washington Post article about Congressional one-hit wonders, with this laugher at the close:

In Cubicle 48, Rep. Steve Driehaus (D-OH) is not as cheerful. Asked if there was anything he’d miss about Capitol Hill, Driehaus acted as if he’d been asked if he’d miss a toothache. He laughed a short, derisive laugh.

“No,” said Driehaus, who was defeated after one term. “It’s a job. I mean, I lost an election. I move on. You know, that’s the way I view it. I’m not real stuck on being a member of Congress.”

Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the place. So, would he ever run again?

“I might,” he said.

If there were an award given for sorest losers, recently defeated Ohio Rep. Steve Driehaus would be a contender.

Driehaus is blaming the pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List for his shellacking in November, going so far as to sue the PAC in federal court last week for “character defamation” and “depriving him of his livelihood.”

New Stanek WND.com column, “Graphic abortion ad during the Super Bowl?”

For only three hours a year do Americans actually look forward to watching commercials rather than ignoring them, muting them or running to the bathroom during them, as we do the other 8,763 hours.

That is during the Super Bowl.

In fact, commercials have become part of the entertainment during football’s annual big game, a cultural phenomenon.

So imagine a 30-second Super Bowl ad showing the graphic reality of abortion.

Most Americans, including many pro-lifers, would abhor such an ad.

But pro-life activists like me would be ecstatic, if such a word can be used to describe fulfillment of a passion to see a multitude of people face the truth about abortion. Activists believe that only by understanding the reality of abortion will the culture be wholeheartedly persuaded against it.

And the publicity, oh, the publicity. Recall the controversy surrounding Focus on the Family’s pro-life pablum Super Bowl ad featuring Tim Tebow earlier this year. This would be that on gigamegalo-steroids.

And there is a chance such a commercial will air during the 2012 Super Bowl….
