Open your mouth and say ahhh-pv
From The Age, May 11:
A study of 100 women diagnosed with cancers at the back of the throat, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, has linked human papillomavirus with throat cancer….
The researchers from Johns Hopkins University also found a high lifetime number of oral sex or vaginal sex partners, engagement in casual sex, early age at first sexual encounter and infrequent use of condoms were associated with a strain of HPV-positive oropharyngeal cancer. They conclude that the “widespread oral sexual practices among adolescents” may have contributed to a rise of this type of cancer in the US, and provide a rationale for HPV vaccination in both boys and girls….
“Everyone that gets infected by HPV won’t go on to get throat cancer,” [Cancer Council Australia chief exec. Ian Oliver] said. The findings did not mean people should change their behaviour. “It would be like saying stop having sex or you’ll get cancer of the cervix. That doesn’t apply.”
Added Science A Go Go:
It appears that the association between the virus and throat cancer is extremely strong, with HPV 16 being present in the tumors of 72 percent of oropharyngeal (located in the tonsils, back of the tongue, and throat) cancer patients enrolled in the study.
This is where “I did not have sex with that woman” Clinton, 40 years of comprehensive sex ed, and liberal “no need to change behavior” idiot wonks have brought us.

Jill,
I’ll say it again.
God is not mocked…and I will add…you reap what you sow.
“This is where “I did not have sex with that woman” Clinton, 40 years of comprehensive sex ed, and liberal “no need to change behavior” idiot wonks have brought us.”
Yeah, I’m sure that Christian leaders like Ted Haggard and Conservative leaders like Mark Foley and Newt Gingrich NEVER engaged in oral sex. Just Liberals like Bill Clinton.
Clinton was a total jack***!
Take Mark Foley off the list. He wasn’t a conservative leader. He was a homosexual liberal.
As to the rest, I don’t know if they engaged in oral sex.
We only know about Clinton because first he lied about it, then when his lie was discovered (blue stained dress, as you’ll recall), he tried to say oral sex wasn’t sex, which clearly misled untold numbers of kids.
“Take Mark Foley off the list. He wasn’t a conservative leader. He was a homosexual liberal.”
Bwahahahahaha!

“he tried to say oral sex wasn’t sex, which clearly misled untold numbers of kids”
Yes, Jill, thats when rise of oral sex among teens started. Of course, being Bill Clinton, always thinking about himself.
Of course, Laura here is trying to divert attention from the real problem; Irresponsible Sex and a leader (Clinton) who justified it to save his own ass.
*glowingly looking forward to risking throat cancer again.
The word “sex” is a bit ambigious. Oral sex is oral sex, it isn’t “sexual intercourse.” It’s sexual behavior. It’s not sexual reproduction. I’m not sure it’s fair to say Clinton misled kids. He didn’t say oral sex is okay.He didn’t say oral sex was less serious than other sex. He said he didn’t have sex with Monica. I am willing to grant you that was a lie. In context, he wanted us to believe there was no sexual contact. It was misleading to the nation. But, I’m skeptical of blaming the rise on oral sex among teens on Clinton. There’s also been a rise in teen anal sex, and Clinton never mentioned that. Clinton and teen sex are both symptoms of the same issue, one did not cause the other.
Y’all just can’t live without him, can you? Clinton I mean.
Why aren’t all these teens at home doing homework or milking the cows instead of having oral and anal sex?
The rise in alternative sexual practices is linked to abstinence pledges, a proclivity with maintaining virginity, and a perception that it’s not really sex.
Can’t live without Clinton? He wont go away! Like a bad penny. He keeps popping up. He was on Rachel Ray last week telling everyone that he enjoys pie and ice cream. Bill, your not even good looking. Go away!
Bill Maher had a good idea: we should pass a constitutional amendment allowing both Bill Clinton and Arnold Schwartzenegger to run in 2012.
I meant Bill, you’re not good looking. Gag!
Is that a giesha in the picture, or a remnant of the Patrick Nagel era?
OOPS that’s Schwarzenegger
Cameron,that’s Hillary Clinton.
Who here thinks Rick Santorum will run in 2012?
SOMG, I’m not thinking that far ahead.
Is that a giesha in the picture, or a remnant of the Patrick Nagel era?
OOPS that’s Schwarzenegger
That’s Schwarzenegger in the picture? Oh my!
MK, It’s either him or Hilarious Clinton. LOL!
I wish Rick Santorum would run in 2008
Actually, it’s Monica. You just don’t recognize her without the cigar.
hahahaha. I have a joke, but it’s tooo x rated for this site.
Ahhh, that’s all right Heather.
Most of us self righteous stick in the mud anti sex Christians wouldn’t get it anyway.
Cameron,
You’re pushin’ it. Unless of course you were referring to chicken?
Oh yes MK. Now and again I shall take a break from my knitting and make some time for a dirty little joke.
Shame…You hussy!
Cameron, 6:13p, getting it or giving it?
Clinton was like Captain Kirk. Imagine if there were a StarTrek TOS episode in which Kirk goes back to 1992 and becomes president. You can bet that:
1. He would enjoy a great economy (Check)
2. He would preside over the emergence of new technology (check)
3. He would have a dark-haired, wooden-mannered, scientifically literate, tall VP (check)
4. He would get in trouble for fooling around with a native girl (check)
5. He would be impeached but would hang on in office (check).
6. Everything would be done with maximum drama (check).
Bill Clinton is really James T. Kirk!
His political style reminded me of Muhammad Ali–he would dance just out of reach, making his opponents miss again and again until they were too exhausted to continue fighting, and then he’d come in and bop you.
Tiller.
Captain Kirk.
Bill Clinton.
Muhammad Ali.
Strange bedfellows Smaug. Not surprising, but strange…
And how come you never answer my questions?
At least Captain Kirk was cute! Bill Clinton is homely. Okay, I’m done foolin round. LOL!
What questions?
I asked you what trap you were setting for us with the Bob Dornan junk?
Ya B1Bobfor Prez.
That wasn’t me. Haven’t you guys figured out that there’s several of us sharing a computer?
…but I agree with B1BobforPrez that Bob Dornan is the only guy out there who might run who really believes in right-to-life-ism.
Hmmmm…I have a hard time believing that you’d let a pro-lifer in the same room as you, let alone use your computer….
What a crock. How is Dr. Defense doing these days? Has he cooled off? Perhaps he took a vacation? Those death threats were starting to worry me.
What I mean is, if Bob Dornan’s daughter got raped, he would try to force her to keep the pregnancy. He really would.
DoctorDefense is a thoroughly disreputable character. I take no responsibility for anything he writes.
He (DD) has been investigated by the FBI.
Liar!
Negative.
He (DD) has been investigated by the FBI.
prove it!
+
How would one prove such a thing?
I must say that the picture to go along with this article is simply the best thing you have ever posted on this site. :)
Less, funny you should notice that. I wrestled with posting that particular photo.
Smaug,
Show me some documentation that he was investigated by the FBI. Show me a website that he posts on.
Show me his picture.
You’re the genius. You figure it out!
What is a pro-life guy doing working in an abortion clinic?
hahaha. He’s not Dr. Defense? Then I’m the Easter Bunny.
You’re a bunny? A Playboy bunny?
I think this picture is of a playboy bunny. :)
Looks more to me like this is where the pathetic Conservative stance of “sex ed is bad!” has gotten us. You posted it in there. “Infrequent use of condoms.”
Teach people how to use them, they will. Sorry, Jilly Bean. You’re very good at refuting your own points.
Personally, I think it’s pretty pathetic when sexual freedom has been reduced to the importance of pedagogy concerning a process more akin to sausage skinning than erotic ecstasy.
Believe me, rasqual, you can absolutely achieve erotic ecstasy with a condom. ;)
Somg, You are correct. I am a Playboy bunny.
I don’t think you’re really understanding the point.
The point is that sex has been reduced to training in the fine arts of plumbing. It’s all about risk and avoiding disease and pregnancy.
Those who are committed to the notion that faithful marriage is the perfect context for sexual pleasure might note that sex can generally be carefree.
The impetus to give kids an associates degree in plumbing, in order that they can achieve the same level of freedom from worry, seems a pathetic consequence of rejecting the advocacy of traditional social norms as a normative approach to acquainting youths with both how good sex can be and why it’s worth waiting for someone who’ll contract with you for life on a holistic level (marriage as more than sex).
Marriage as MORE than sex. Not less. Sex with someone who’s MORE than a piece of plumbing hardware, and orgasm as more than a moment in time.
I’ve always found it ridiculous that those who have reduced sex to casual physical encounters frequently imagine that those who appreciate its role in magnifying a more complete human relationship, are guilty of diminishing sex in some way. The irony is exquisite.
And on the other hand, those wishing to practice safe sex with their monogamous partners have every reason and right to learn how to use condoms properly, as should everyone.
It’s a shame you look down on people who have sex with multiple partners, as monogamy is entirely unnatural for the human being. But oh well.
Well if it comes to that, Ilana, clothing is unnatural too. But I don’t see news accounts of your nude public activities, so I reckon you’re just spouting gratuitous repartee.
Actually, rasqual, almost all public beaches are nude in Europe, and nudist clubs are surprisingly popular in the US.
Marriage as MORE than sex. Not less. Sex with someone who’s MORE than a piece of plumbing hardware, and orgasm as more than a moment in time.
That’s great that you think that: unfortunately, its simply your opinion, and frankly not everyone agrees. Sex is simply the insertion of tab a into slot b: anything more than that is what you make of it.
I don’t believe in going into marriage blind, at any level, including sexually. I don’t regret my experiences. I don’t want to ever be pregnant, so sex is avoiding pregnancy for me. Why should I be forced into a condition I don’t want? Is your view of sex celebecy or pregnancy? There is no middle ground for you, it seems.
