Abortion images get attention at Notre Dame
The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform has put together a YouTube photo montage juxtaposed against voicemail complaints (a couple pretty bad) it received about its campaign to show the truth about abortion via its “abortion plane” and Truth Trucks in the month leading up to Barack Obama’s appearance at Notre Dame.
WARNING: There is some profanity, although the worst is the first. Other than that, viewing the photos while listening to the complaints against showing them is mesmerizing.
FYI, Kelli has created a Notre Dame archives tab to view all my posts, photos, and video leading up to and throughout Obama’s appearance there.

Video is gone, Jill
I can’t get the vid. to play.
It says ‘this video has been removed by user.’
Looks like if you go to the site for the Center for Bioethical Reform (click the link), the video is still playing on their site. At least, it worked for me.
I just watched the video. It’s still there, or perhaps a problem was fixed?
Anyways, just wanted to say, it’s interesting how offended people get when they see abortion photos. Instead of being indignant about the slaughter of innocent preborn children, they instead are indignant with the prolifers who dare to expose the world to the truth. It’s backwards.
Waa, waa, waa…
I especially like the one who said that this prompted them to donate to PP and Emily’s List. “I’m sure they will use my funds appropriately.” Right, to kill children.
What was so funny was that preceeding that comment she acted like it was such a horrible tragedy and she wanted to guard her children from the horror and discuss it on “her timeline.”
My kids saw the signs when we drove by the PP in Aurora during the protests. They asked questions and I answered them. It was the perfect opportunity to discuss it and we have discussed it since then as well.
She didn’t agree and she was mad. Boo-hoo.
Nope. The pictures must be shown!
We show pictures of lynching, the holocaust, animal cruelty and child abuse. Why can’t we show people pictures of abortion?
I especially like the one who said that this prompted them to donate to PP and Emily’s List. “I’m sure they will use my funds appropriately.” Right, to kill children.
Yeah Kristen, as if she was really PL before she saw the display. I wonder if she’d seen pictures of animal cruelty, would she donate $$ to have a few more put to sleep?
Her entire community is mad? No. She and the pro-deathers in her community are mad.
I appreciate the signs. Abortion had been hidden from my eyes for many years! I remember looking at some of my first pics of aborted babies. I thought, OMG! THAT’S what it looks like??
Sorry, all. Don’t know what happened but I just cut and pasted the embed code again and the video is working ok for me. Thanks for doing damage control, Kelli.
“My kids saw the signs when we drove by the PP in Aurora during the protests. They asked questions and I answered them. It was the perfect opportunity to discuss it..”
———————————
A teachable moment for Pro-lifers and their kids…but a moment of anger for the pro-abort, “tolerant”, liberal group….
I’d like for once to hear an aborted baby take the words of that one sanctimonius mom and say, “I too feel disrepected especially when you’re ripping my arms off, I hate when that happens”.
No, the unborn being aborted have no voice except the truth that abortion is murder in all its horrific detail.
“Intellectual”?
Perhaps she has never intellectually read Confucius who said, “a picture is worth a thousand words”?
“2 Corinthians 10:12 We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.”
Showing the truth of abortion to one so-called pro-life student is viewed as a “distraction”. We can now understand what Notre Dame teaches their students and it certainly is not the Gospel.
Matthew 8:20-22 20Jesus replied, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”
21Another disciple said to him, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”
22But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”
Interesting and disgusting comments.
What is “extreme”? The fact that human babies are being ripped apart or that we have photos of them after they are dead?
I remember when baby harp seals were being clubbed to death and the media went NUTS! Posters and pictures and videos of men beating the baby seals to death with clubs and all of the blood in the snow….people were shocked and disgusted and did something to STOP the killing of harp seals. Protect the harp seals!!
They were NOT shocked and disgusted at the people who showed the posters, pictures and videos.
Like they said, “How dare you show these pictures of bloody seals!! My children could be watching! I have a time line! I am disrespected!”
I saw most of that media blitz in school. I remember we had to write letters to the World Wildlife Federation.
Her entire community could have been mad. Even the prolifers among them. Maybe they disagreed with the circus. Or were members of the Notre Dame community ( professors, parents, students, graduates, alumin, etc). Maybe they aren’t hardcore prolife.
“caught me completely off guard and unprepared”
I’ve talked to my 6 year old daughter about this, and I didn’t need to “prepare”. It was a simple matter of just telling her the truth. I imagine if one’s position is supporting a horrible barbaric act, and rests on twisted linguistics, you probably have to prepare a lot for when your children ask questions that make YOU uncomfortable (because kids are great at pointing out the obvious).
What I don’t understand though, is the pro-lifers who seem so upset by these things. Have our photos been doctored? It’s not as though we’re making this stuff up, this is what is actually happening to pre-born human beings, and everyone, especially those who support abortion, should be forced to take a good long look.
Wow! What a powerful video. The background imagery of the body parts of those murdered children with the running commentary of narcissistic whining and bickering of the clue-less pro-death crowd speakes volumes.
That is why exposing people to the truth, in all its graphic detail, is so critical. It’s an immediate litmus test of what’s in someone’s heart. Either they are horrified at the injustice, or they are offended that you’ve interrupted their life with something unpleasant. They’re either grateful to CBR for educating them and getting the word out about this atrocity or they’re furious that they’ve been “disrespected”.
The polarity of the responses helps me to see with greater clarity the justice in God’s Judgment.
Carla:
How about the heart rending PETA ads that run on TV and ask for donations by showing dogs with mutilated bodies and deep wounds? Some of those dogs are pretty messed up. And I absolutely love dogs. No one better ever hurt by beloved black and white Terrier; Tuxedo.
I wonder if that sanctimonious mom writes to executives of the major networks when her child is watching a basketball game and then in a flash, there’s a bar scene where woman are being disrespected for the sake of selling beer?
And has anyone seen “Whale Wars” on Animal Planet? Where’s the outrage in showing little Suzie the horror of a whale hanging over the side of a whale hunting trawler?
The use of selective political correctness by Liberals is especially nauseating when they flaunt their holier than thou BS towards pro-lifers.
We need more of this exposure, not less, we need more, and more, and more until abortion is eradicated from our land.
Do you really think you need more of this? Does it work? Do you think you changed minds at Notre Dame? Or did you just further alienate yourselves?
HisMan,
I just saw that commercial today about the abused animals!! I always think of how many babies lost their lives today.
They air the Sarah Maclaichan ad for ASPCA (I think that’s the name) and the background song they use really sets the tone. Yes, I care about the animals, but some of the people that could have RESCUED these animals were ABORTED before they had a chance to rescue them!
I’ve never seen any outrage over the ‘I’d rather go naked than wear fur’ adds!
Liz, correct! I see that commercial all the time. There ought to be more talking and adds about adoption.
While the images used by the protesters represent the gruesome reality of abortion they also represent the reality of evil one himself.
If pro-life movement is to benefit from these images they should be used in the contest of the scientific/medical debate and not on the streets where innocent children could see these images.
Nor should we wave such images in front of women who had gone through and abortion. Some of these women may not be ready to face this gruesome side of abortion yet and may still be in denial over their her own decission to abort. Even if one of these women hurts herself or commits suicide after being faced with such images- the entire pro-life movement failed.
Just something to be mindful of…
Emma,
YES! MORE! TRUTH!

Emma:
The crucifixion of Christ was a gory, bloody mess that God chose to allow everyone to see and for a purpose: To show the real face of evil.
However, how many people still reject Christ knowing what He went through on Calvary? There will always be those, no matter what you do to show them the truth, who won’t be able to face the truth and why so, we will never be able to figure out.
Is it the photos you are repulsed by or the evil they represent? I think you need to contemplate that.
Healing After Abortion,
I would usually turn my head away and be blissfully unaware of what an abortion actually did to my daughter. I wouldn’t be around ANY of those images when I was in denial.
Today those images help many of us grieve what we have done.
All I am saying hisman is that the photos and the circus, while a big hit here, seem to have just alienated you further. Do you think more of the same will hurt or help your cause?
As for the crucifixtion of Jesus, that’s your religion.
Healing After Abortion,
I like your blog. Very much. I will read more when I have time. :)
Emma,
Alienated us from whom?
HisMan- crucifixion period was a gory, bloody, terrible mess. Roman citizens had seen many before Jesus and saw many after. Just because a citizen was crucified doesn’t mean they were divine.
Many women and children were killed on crosses too, as well as innocent men.
Alienate the very people you wish to change or to join your cause.
HAB, I agree with many of your points, may I quote you in an entry on abortion images at my blog? Also I like your blog on abortion healing and wish I would of found it sooner to share with others.
…I will certainly add your blog to my list of post-abortion healing resources.

Erin:
As a devout believer in Jesus Christ and in His divinity I find your comment to be extremely offensive to not only me but to literally billions of other people around the world.
The truth is, there has never been a man or woman or child as Innocent as Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Savior of the world.
Unfortunately, your comments reveal a level of ignorance found so commonly among today’s youth educated in a morally relativistic, God-absent, public school system. You are to be pitied.
Emma,
William Wilbeforce brought his rich aristocratic friends down to the wharfs in London to smell the nauseating stench coming from empty slave ships moored there.
Frederick Douglas would remove his shirt a display the scars on his back from the handy work of the overseer on the plantation from which he escaped.
Eisenhower made the Germans who lived in the communites surrounding the concentration camps walk through them while the emaciated bodies and the stench of death still hung in the air.
Eisenhower required still photos and films be made because he did not future generations to claim this never happened.
We are your conscience. We will not let you forget.

From a group of German college student disdents known as ‘The White Rose Society’ who opposed the NAZI administration in Germany.
“Who among us has any conception of the dimensions of shame that will befall us and our children when one day the veil has fallen from our eyes and the most horrible of crimes – crimes that infinitely outdistance every human measure – reach the light of day? ”
— From the first leaflet of the White Rose
“ Since the conquest of Poland three hundred thousand Jews have been murdered in this country in the most bestial way … The German people slumber on in their dull, stupid sleep and encourage these fascist criminals … Each man wants to be exonerated of a guilt of this kind, each one continues on his way with the most placid, the calmest conscience. But he cannot be exonerated; he is guilty, guilty, guilty! ”
— From the second leaflet of the White Rose
“We will not be silent. We are your bad conscience. The White Rose will not leave you in peace!” (Leaflet 4’s concluding phrase)
Most of the members of the White Rose were imprisoned and many were executed for opposing the ‘NAZI’ regime.

If The White Rose Society were in possesion of photos from the death camps I am sure they would have used them.
I am also equally sure there would have been German citizens and fellow students who would have objected to the graphic images.
I am also equally sure some German mother or father would have been upset because their children saw the photos ahead of the parents time line (which probably stretched to infinity) and the parents had to answer the difficult and disconcerting questions their children were asking.
There is nothing new under the sun.

SAVE THE BABIES!! I love that pro-life t-shirt!!
Consider this quote by pro-choice feminist Naomi Wolf:
“How can we charge that it is vile and repulsive for pro-lifers to brandish vile and repulsive images if the images are real? To insist that the
truth is in poor taste is the very height of hypocrisy. Besides, if these images are often the facts of the matter, and if we then claim that it is offensive for pro-choice women to be confronted by them, then we are making the judgment that women are too inherently weak to face a truth about which they have to make a grave decision. This view of women is unworthy of feminism. Free women must be strong women, too: and strong women, presumably do not seek to cloak their most important decisions in euphemism.”
One woman on the voice mail used Obama’s favorite trick. The false choice trick. she said we spend too much on trucks and don’t care about hunger or the poor. No it is not a choice of 2. Anti abortion or food aid for the hungry. One or the other. We need to call people on bad reasoning.
I realize that the signs cause controversy, but they work often when a woman is heading in for an abortion. Some will look and cry. Others will stop and ask “Is that really an abortion”? Some think the pics are fake, and some smirk/laugh at them. After 2 women studied our signs a few months ago, they asked a few questions, but they both went into the AB clinic anyway. They both stayed in about 30 minutes, and then they came back out, walked past us, and stated, “We aren’t doing it.” We were all too happy to provide them with PCC information!!! THAT was a great day indeed!
I love the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform.
jasper, me too.
xppc, I’ve always looked at it this way. Had we never legalized Roe V Wade, we just might have had about 50 million more folks in this world to make it a better place.
However, according to the abortion industry, they all would have become criminals:\
HI ERIN!
Crucifixion was absolutely one of the most heinous, horrific ways to die. Christ was innocent and was crucified for us all. He is the only one however, who rose from the dead.
If they ever find the bones of Jesus Christ then pity me and my fellow Christ followers.
Hi Carla! I never mean to be disrespectful to people’s beliefs, but I often hear Christians referring to crucifixion as something that refers solely to Jesus. While his death on the cross and the massive religious movement that followed it certainly…’popularized’ the method of execution, it was by no means limited to such. That was my primary point, sorry if it came off as disrespectful!
Not to worry, Erin. I do know that MANY people were crucified along the sides of roads to various cities and towns as “warnings” and also that being crucified upside down was a variation of this barbaric practice.
Have you ever seen The Passion of Christ?
How is the job hunt going?
Erin,
You could not possibly be more disrespectful than the ‘religious’ people who held the kangaroo court, or the ones who perjured themselves and falsely accused an innocent man, or the ones who beat him beyond recognition and then nailed him to the wooden scaffold or the ones of us who made it all necessary.
I am not offended and, I trust, neither is the ONE who gives you breath or he never would have volunteered to give his life for yours.
HE will get around to introducing himself at just the right time.
In the mean time, work hard, enjoy life, have some fun. Do something with your life that you can look back on with a sense of satisfaction when you are in your golden years.

kbhvac,
That was a wonderful post. Thank you!
Carla, I did see it, in fact. I cried my eyes out- not because it moved me in any sort of religious way, but because the whole time I was thinking, all the things that they’re doing to this one actor, that isn’t even real, they did to thousands and thousands of people…and it just broke my heart to imagine it.
The job hunt is frustrating! With the economic situation the way it is, job opportunities that are usually filled by working students are being taken by unemployed adults who never used to need them. It’s tough, but I’m sure I’ll find something eventually, just have to keep filling out those applications! Are your bambinos out for the summer?
It is extremely difficult to watch for me. For different reasons of course. He went through all of that for Carla. And Erin.
I will be praying for a job for you SOON!!
The oldest bambinos are out on June 11th. Late this year, but the pool is up and that is what we will be doing every.single.day. :)
History Unfolding
By Pat Dollard
I am a student of history. Professionally, I have
written 15 books in six languages, and have studied it all my life. I think
there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is just
a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes these exist,
but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now
coming into a sharper focus.
Something of historic proportions is happening. I
can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and
how people react to it. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is
something happening within our country that has been evolving for about ten
to fifteen years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.
We demand and then codify into law the requirement
that our banks make massive loans to people we know they can never pay back?
Why?
We learn just days ago that the Federal Reserve,
which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has “loaned” two trillion
dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not
tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and
mine. And that is three times the $700B we all argued about so strenuously
just this past September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are
the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought
this was a government of “we the people,” who loaned our powers to our
elected leaders. Apparently not.
We have spent two or more decades intentionally
de-industrializing our economy. Why?
We have intentionally dumbed down our schools,
ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are
exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot
write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting,
teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?
We have now established the precedent of
protesting every close election (now violently in California over a
proposition that is so controversial that it wants marriage to remain
between one man and one
woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible
just a decade ago?) We have corrupted our sacred political process by
allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of
life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our
voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?
Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing
prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is
on the verge of collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is medicare
and our entire government, our education system is worse than a joke (I
teach college and know precisely what I am talking about) – the list is
staggering in its length, breadth, and depth. It is potentially 1929 x
ten. And we are at war with an enemy we cannot
name for fear of offending people of the same religion, who cannot wait to
slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.
And now we have elected a man no one knows
anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town
as big as Wasilla , Alaska . All of his associations and alliances are with
real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn
about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you
have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian
defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh
of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then
demand he answer it. Sarah Palin’s pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe
is more important.)
Mr. Obama’s winning platform can be boiled down to
one word: Change.
Why?
I have never been so afraid for my country and for
my children as I am now.
This man campaigned on bringing people together,
something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my
assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart,
and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure.
Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same
nation again.
And that is only the beginning.
And I thought I would never be able to experience
what the ordinary, moral German felt in the mid-1930s. In those times, the
savior was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about
whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they did know was that he
was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people
with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through
great oratory. Conservative “losers” read it right now.
And promises. Economic times were tough, people
were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and waved a lot.
And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his
“brown shirts” would bully them into submission. And then, he was duly
elected to office, a full-throttled economic crisis at hand [the Great
Depression]. Slowly but surely he seized the controls of government power,
department by department, person by person, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The
kids joined a Youth Movement in his name, where they were taught what to
think. How did he get the people on his side? He did it promising jobs to
the jobless, money to the moneyless, and goodies for the military-industrial
complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control,
health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill
pride once again in the country, across Europe , and across the world. He
did it with a compliant media-did you know that? And he did this all in the
name of justice and . . . change. And the people surely got what they voted
for.
(Look it up if you think I am exaggerating.)
Read your history books. Many people objected in
1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and made fun of. When
Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in
the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed
into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though.
Don’t forget that Germany was the most educated,
cultured country in Europe . It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals,
laboratories, and universities. And in less than six years-a shorter time
span than
just two terms of the U. S. presidency-it was
rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning
children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors. All with the best
of
intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved
with them.
As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to
emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the
objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with
disgust); I can
believe what history is shouting to me from across
the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong by closing my eyes,
having another latte, and ignoring what is transpiring around me.
Some people scoff at me, others laugh, or think I
am foolish, naive, or both. Perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to
look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe-and why I
believe it. I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am.
Exceptionally powerful post!
Over the past 20 years fighting child killing, I’ve heard
just about every one of the Planned Parenthood talking
points on these calls.
Blah, blah, blah!
Stop the KILLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PERSONHOOD NOW!
Leslie Hanks, I like your blog!
Pat Dollard has done some serious drugs in his life.
HisMan,
Thank you so much for that post!!
God forbid we “turn someone OFF” by showing the truth of what abortion does to millions of innocents! My graduation – my life, my choice – blah blah blah! Will these murdered babes have to be faced by those who did not stand for them, someday? I say YAY! – for these trucks. I am pro-life, and was a little about it, but shrunk back when it got too vocal, or too graphic (like these images) – but have come to realize that the unborn can NOT speak for themselves. Everyone, every other group – has LOUD/proud advocates…who will stand for these? I will – for one. And I have shown these images to my children and explained their responsibility to make good and right choices in their lives with regards to ALL aspects of human lives.
Amen, elizabethk!!
“We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. HisMan, Great post.
I’ve heard some people say that to overhaul our education system we need to get rid of unions and tenure and start from scratch. Sounds like a great idea to me. Education should be Obama’s number one priority. Unfortunately, he’s aware that once people get smart, he and his cronies will be out of their jobs.
What what about the story that the White House turned away a bunch of kindergarten children on a school field trip because they were ten minutes late??? Would George Bush have done that??? No way. He would have found time for them no matter what. What a shame for those kids. They’ll never forget.
Carla,
The pool is up? Yippee! (What a fun Mom you are!)
Oh yeah, Janet.
The water from the hose is freezing and the oldest kiddoes care not. :)
Carla,
With global warming, it should be heated up in 5.74321923456789 seconds– don’t cha think?
The temp right now is a balmy 53 so yes! Surf’s up!
And speaking of global warming R. Limbaugh is talking about a guy who’s looking for stimulus funds – he’s proposing painting roofs white to reduce absorption of heat into houses. Maybe a mirror could reflect heat into your pool, Carla. LOL. Warning, don’t try this at home, kids.
The only reason people have the luxury of thinking that we don’t need unions anymore is because we have unions. Sure, there are examples of unions protecting ridiculous things, but by and large the threat of collective action — striking, in union workplaces; or unionizing, in non-union places — protects workers who cannot protect themselves individually. It’s absurdly simplistic to just say that we need to do away with unions.
“The only reason people have the luxury of thinking that we don’t need unions anymore is because we have unions.”
I’m only talking about taking Unions out of the school systems, not throughout society. I’m an outsider looking in, but it’s obvious that an overhaul of our public schools is in order.
Why not organize schools so they behave more like small privately owned businesses? Employees are accountable to their employers for meeting performance standards. Employees must deliver on their promises to their customers. The city of Chicago, as one example, has a terrible school system. It’s huge, out of control, embarrassing!
Yeah, Janet, schools are pretty messed up in some places. I’m still pro-union for teachers, though — that’s one of the unions I work closely with, the NYC public schoolteachers. It’s a pretty good union, ie reasonable, as far as I know.
Mr. Alexandra is in that union, and he DEFINITELY needs to deliver on his promises to both bosses and “customers,” and is way accountable for meeting performance standards. If it weren’t for the union, he’d have quit long ago.
Alexandra,
I’m not so much against unions, as I am against holding on to the incompetent teachers and administrators. I hear stories of warehouses full of new computers never utilized, classrooms without textbooks. How can kids learn without textbooks?
Are New York City schools in pretty good shape? Good teachers? Good test scores? If so, good for you!
Emma, if we’re alienated further, all the better. The wheat has to be separated from the chaff, the sheep from the goats.
