Pro-aborts in revolt; walk-out urged

If …
1) Dems don’t have the House votes.
and
2) Stupak is insisting on the Senate voting on any abortion “fix” – enrollment corrections bill – first, which is the only guarantee it is real.
and
3) The feminists are screaming.
and
4) The WH/Pelosi have nothing compelling to offer to get a) the feminists to hush up and b) enough of the Democratic caucus in the Senate to sign onto whatever Stupak asked for.
…. this all could be falling apart for Barack Obama right now.
Whatever happens, this is remarkable – 1) Yes, that the WH/etc. is so condescending toward the will of the people here. But also that 2) with all their power in Washington, the WH/Pelosi find themselves in this situation – having to make some pro-life Democrat from MI satisfied – in late March 2010.

Pro-choice members of the House are in revolt tonight, threatening to kill the health care bill after Nancy Pelosi agreed to give Bart Stupak a vote on a concurrent resolution which would tie his language on abortion to the Senate bill and substitute it for the Nelson language.

Today, women in the United States are fighting for their lives. You must fight too! A woman’s right to have safe and legal abortion is about to be traded away.

According to The Hill, “were the resolution to pass the House, it would instruct the Senate clerk to change the healthcare bill to reflect Stupak’s more restrictive language to prohibit federal dollars from going toward abortion coverage.”
There were 41 members of Congress who signed Diana DeGette’s letter saying “we will not vote for a conference report that contains language that restricts women’s right to choose any further than current law.” Although the language in the Senate bill most certainly goes way beyond current law, the members have thus far stayed silent and DeGette has not released the names on the letter.
Jan Schakowsky, Mike Capuano, Mike Quigley, Carolyn Maloney, Judy Chu and Louise Slaughter have publicly said that they signed the letter. Betsy Markey and Anne Kirkpatrick are also signatories.

Yes, because clearly, anything short of abortion on demand payed for with our tax dollars is a betrayal of my sex. NOW cannot really be unaware that many of the people who disagree with them have two X chromosomes. They’re acting on the “saying it makes it so” theory. I wonder how the pro-life women of Congress and the SBA List will respond.
In any event, they cannot do walk out and then turn around and accuse pro-lifers of destroying health care reform. The reform’s failure will be squarely on the heads of the pro-abortion lobby.
I thought this bill was not about abortion. :)

Just read this letter of this pro-deather, Maria Pappas, New York NOW insisting abortion stay in this healthcare takeover bill. They are unraveling before our eyes, “outing themselves” and “coming out of the closet” showing their true colors, the color is red, the blood of innocent unborn babies.
“There is NO federal funding of abortion in this bill” stated by the President of the United States before a joint session of Congress. Reiterated or should I say regurgitated by Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House. There MUST be a penalty for lying to the American people.
