Jivin J’s Life Links 6-29-10

At week 24, the fetus is a fully formed baby, weighing over a pound and measuring nearly a foot long. The mother has felt it kicking and seen it in lifelike detail on a screen; were she to go into labor, it would perhaps survive.
The procedure to end her pregnancy at that stage takes days, not minutes, and its risks are much higher. Abortion providers who are willing to do it – indeed, who have the stomach for it – are quite rare….
The new law would require women wanting abortions to be screened by doctors or other health professionals to determine whether they were pressured into having the procedure. Those women also would have to be screened for risk factors indicating they could have mental or physical problems after an abortion.
PP hasn’t disclosed whether they are planning to challenge NE’s new fetal pain law which prohibits abortions after 20 weeks.
Two things about the MKE firefighter story…
Why are parents allowing children to attend a barbecue at a 44 year-old man’s house, unsupervised ??
Prostitution web sites should be shutdown. Period.
RE: Ny times article
“But according to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ new study, an abortion at week 24 wouldn’t hurt the fetus.”
Yeah it wont “hurt” the fetus…because it will only KILL the fetus/baby.

What’s wrong with this picture?
1. He was suspended..WITH pay(yes..let’s REWARD him for sexual conduct with a child!)
2. He had been ‘accused’ of the same thing before (Of course. If he did it once and got away with it..)
3. He met this child on-line (where are this girl’s parents when she’s on a site called ‘on-line BOOTY CALL, for Heaven’s sake???)
4. He tried to talk her into an abortion to COVER UP EVIDENCE OF HIS CRIME.
This is just DISPICABLE on so many levels.
Should have been ‘DESPICABLE’…went through before I could correct it.
love how in the comments section of the NY times piece the pro-aborts openly admit “I hate babies, personally”…ugh, yeah, we know. You’re all pretty obvious about it.
Just to note, the article seems to be from New York Magazine, not the New York Times Magazine.
This line stuck out at me:
To hear most public, pro-life discourse on the subject, one would think that second-trimester abortions are performed only in an emergency, when painful moral questions are easier to address.
Most pro-lifers I have spoken to refer to those as the “hard cases. I just thought it was intriguing to see them referred to as the easy-to-address cases. I don’t really have a point beyond just finding that worth noticing.
According to the New York times magazine:
“many don’t even realize they’re pregnant until the baby’s kicking.”
You got that? BABY not fetus.
The PC police are slacking.
He’s probably suspended with pay so that he won’t sue them on the off-chance that he’s not guilty.
