Ad: Do parents want home alone abortions for their daughters?
(Read background on telemed abortions in Iowa here.)
The following powerful ad targeting Planned Parenthood of the Heartland for its telemed abortions appeared today in the Dubuque Telegraph Herald (click to enlarge):
An interesting creepy factoid on the side…
I reported last week that 7 pro-lifers, representing 57 local and national pro-life/pro-family groups, appealed to the Iowa Board of Medicine at its August 20 meeting to call a halt to telemed abortions. (The Des Moines Register, in a September 5 pro-telemed editorial, admitted it agrees they’re currently illegal.)
Well, the IBOM just posted its meeting notes and one person quietly observing events was Mike Falkstrom, PP of the Heartland’s staff attorney.
This is the same guy IBOM tipped off that a citizens group had requested licensing and complaint information of abortionist Susan Haskell, giving him time to file an injunction to stop that information’s release.
So Jill, given that information, couldn’t you say the IBOM meeting was held on a bed together with Planned Parenthood?
Seems like the only abortions Planned Parenthood avoids are of their own demon spawn legislation between them and perverted governmental agencies.
Disgusting.
And tell us again, how are telemed abortions helping to make abortion RARE?
What could be more horrifying than knowing one’s daughter might be suffering from uncontrolled bleeding in a place with no direct medical supervision?
In Australia, one pro-abortion doctor has decided to put a web site together so that women can do “safe home abortions” on their own. The site hasn’t been launched yet. Seems to be a bit of a trend happening in this direction by the looks of things.
Sounds suspiciously like one of those “back alley abortions” to me!
Andrew, etc. Yikes! Will these women be encouraged to have a doctor confirm the pregnancy is intrauterine & not ectopic before trying a medical abortion or home remedies (Mifepristone & home remedies won’t treat an ectopic pregnancy & could endanger her if she’s unaware she has one). Also there are many health conditions which would exclude a woman from a medical or home abortion, such as blood clotting disorders, certain autoimmune diseases, cardiopulmonary-respiratory disorders, disorders of the liver, endometriosis, etc. due the chance the condition could worsen or endanger her health and necessity for such procedures to be preformed in a hospital where close medical monitering is available. I even think most midwives and doulas would discourage a home birth if the woman has a high-risk pregnancy, none-the-less. Also, what if the woman were to experience serious complications such as a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, incomplete abortion, infection, or hemorrhage? Would she and her support person know the symptoms of complications and when to seek medical assistance? How would she dispose of the embryo/fetus and placenta (human medical waste disposal is usually regulated)? Where would she go for medical assistance if complications arise (especially if she lives in a rural area) and for follow-up care? There are just too many medical concerns.

Off the top of my head? Knowing one’s grandchild was dead in a toilet.
Hi Rachael,
The ectopic pregnancy is one definite concern. There are no warnings about that or a requirement for a woman to visit a doctor at all. The site is all about empowering a woman to be able to do her safe and secret abortion in the comfort of her own home. I am presuming that this would be via the use of RU486 and the like.

Andrew
SO TRUE about the ectopic pregnancy risk. Some years ago, a friend of mine turned a woman away from a local death mill where she was scheduled to have a surgical abortion. Two weeks later, she returned, but only to thank the prolifer for saving her life. She had gone to a doctor and found that she had an ectopic pregnancy…just in time. Killing an unborn child greatly increases the risk of future pregnancies being ectopic…and the risk of death for the mother.
So much for “reproductive freedom”. Last time I checked, freedom to reproduce – or do anything else – involved having the ability to do it, the means, and the opportunity. A woman who is pregnant has already reproduced; she is already the mother of the child she is carrying. She cannot go back to not being a mother, that option is moot. The choice she has is what kind of mother she will be, whether she will protect and nurture her child as best she can, even if that means placing the child with adoptive parents, or hire a hit man to slaughter the child. Induced abortion destroys real reproductive freedom by greatly reducing the reproductive ability and opportunity of anyone who submits to one.
Induced abortion is also inherently, intensely traumatic; how much more so for a young woman, especially, to go through alone; especially when she passes the child and sees him or her in the toilet, or on a pad, and have that guilt and grief compounded by the betrayal…and abandonment..by the “medical profession”…Seems timely to reiterate the fact that ABORTION IS TO MEDICINE WHAT 9-11 WAS TO AVIATION.
I used to blog for a blog just like yours, unfortunately I quit. Definitely keep it up, you’re a great webmaster..
