Lunch Break: I am Second
by LauraLoo
Here’s the testimony of a walking miracle, Shane Kampe. God saved Shane spiritually and physically - gave him that second chance.
Also, a reminder this New Year’s weekend that if you know of anyone who drinks and drives to please pass on this video. You may just give someone else a second chance for an abundant life in Jesus.

I wish everyone a safe and healthy 2012.

Don’t text and drive, especially, or talk on the phone and drive, either.
However, without arguing about some state’s drunk-driving laws, New Year’s Eve is not the time to be driving after drinking. That’s “Amateur Night.”
That’s a beautiful witness! But can I just say….that other dude–was creeping me out.
I am really glad that he found physical and spiritual healing, it seems to be working out really well for him.
I personally found the religion pushing in rehab to be detrimental. A lot of us came from backgrounds where really strict religion was forced on us and it didn’t help to have it forced again.
Perhaps that glass of coke with a scoop of icecream dropped in it Doug?
We’ll probably join the (non-imbibing) sea-front celebrations, watch the 9pm fireworks display then wander home for a couple of tipples as we watch the midnight fireworks display from our deck, then be sleeping by about 12:30.
We won’t do it naked heather :-)
Happy New Year!
Hi Jack,
I agree with you that pushing religious do’s and don’ts is tyranny – it can make one feel defeated and hopeless.
Do you mind if I ask you if you know the LORD Jesus in a personal way?
LauraLoo :)
They keep talking about some kind of breath-testin system that would keep the engine from starting. But I guess that could easily be masked. And what if it was the passenger who was drunk?
A pin-prick blood test wouldn’t be well accepted. But something’s got to be done when half of all fatalities are alcohol-related.
I’ve only had a sip each of beer, wine, and champagne; and half a glass of punch. The Indians were right. Fire water!
Cell phones should only be used when stopped.
I only have to worry about paying attention when I reach for a milkshake. Oh, and all other times, too.
Regina, the other dude was creepy. LL ;)
Hi LauraLoo,
I’m not a Christian, I am an agnostic learning more about Christianity at the moment.
Thanks Jack. If you would ever like to talk offline, it would be my pleasure.
Jack,
I thought you were agnostic, but I wasn’t sure. :)
Lol, Hans. I imagine I confuse people, since my opinions about religion change daily. Ah well, we all start somewhere.
Thank you LauraLoo
Reality: Perhaps that glass of coke with a scoop of ice cream dropped in it Doug?
Sounds good, Reality. :)

My wife and I have an invitation for 11 a.m. (yes, I know – it’s *so* early, i.e., ‘The horror… the horror….’)to a “Dave & Buster’s” restaurant/bar/arcade games place. Mainly for the younger generation but I guess there’s always the bar…

I heard Heather has a full bar set up, all manner of hard liquor and endless mixers, and 24 polar bears coming down from Canada….
Neither Shane nor Whispering Danny were talking about religion.
They were talking about having a shared experience that defied logic and reason. Shane was 24 hours away from having his organs harvested for transplant. The ‘professionals’, in their best medical judgement, had written Shane off as a hopeless case. They said he would not live thru the night. Then they said he would not live thru the week, the month, etc., and even if he did he would be a ‘vegetable’.
All the ‘professionals’ were probable correct in their diagnosis and prognosis.
That’s is why so many of them were dismayed/astonished at Shanes recovery.
Some of you are so blinded by your woundedness, you cannot even acknowledge the possibility that GOD, however you might define god, invervened and gave Shane his life back.
Whispering Danny put it well:”Then I realized that I couldn’t deny something that has revealed itself to be true to me.”
[GOD intervened, a ‘miracle’ occurred, Shane recovered.]
I suppose if you asked Shane and Whispering Danny what their thoughts were on GOD and miracles, BEFORE, the motorcycle wreck, their perspective would not have been any different than yours [or mine] til they encountered HIS love.
I have been involved in 4 different cases of severe brain trauman where the ‘professional, according to their best medical judgement’ wrote off their patients as ‘hopeless’. [Actually, I am the 5th case. I survived a motorcycle accident and closed head injury and 3 days in a coma, but the Great Physician intervened and spared my life, afer my mom surrendered my into HIS able care.]
The same neurosugeon treated two of the people who had sufferred severe brain trauma.
After all a while an intellectually honest look at the math and probabilities does not leave much room for an explanation other than the supernatural.
If you are creeped out by Whispering Danny then I suggest you do 3 things:
1. Go the I am Second website and listen to Danny’s whole story.
2. Then understand that GOD had no problen getting past the ‘creepiness’ and seeing two people in great need of HIS love and HIS healing and HIS restoration.
3. Realize we are all ‘creepy’ in our own unique ways. The healthy are not need of the PHYSICIAN! [GOD is no respecter of persons. HE has HIS own agenda.]
Blessing you all with an increasingly, abundantly prosperous new year!
Shalom ya’ll!

JB,
I suggest you cease learning more about ‘christianity’ and begin seeking Yeshua.
The ‘religion’ thing is a really rough row to hoe only to discover it is a dead end.

YBK, while I understand what you are saying and agree to a point, Jack may be searching the Bible for the LORD and Christianity. Wouldn’t you agree that is exactly where Jack needs to be.
The book “The Case for Christ” by Lee Strobel may be helpful to Jack. I have not read it but know that Lee was not a believer and was passionate to disprove Christianity, only to end up finding the LORD. God works uniquely with all of us.
Thanks for chiming in, I’ve certainly missed your input.

Hello ken! I hope you are having a good new year so far. I’m glad you made a full recovery from your brain trauma. My aunt was left brain-dead after a terrible car accident in a convertible that had no roll bar. It was horrible. I’m glad you’re okay.
