Chain of six Northern CA late-term abortion clinics CLOSED
The last three late-term abortion clinics of what was once was a chain of six in Northern California is closing this week, reports Wynette Sills of 40 Days for Life Sacramento.
Choice Medical Group once committed abortions in Concord, Fremont, Sacramento, Salinas, San Francisco, and San Jose.
The Salinas clinic closed a few years ago, Concord followed last year, and San Francisco this past March.
When a member of Wynette’s group called the Sacramento office last week, they got a pleasant surprise. A receptionist told her that clinic and the Fremont and San Jose clinics were all closing this week. “We just didn’t have enough patients,” she said, when asked why the clinics were shutting down.
Northern California has undergone a spate of abortion clinic closings.
Recall Golden Gate Community Health closed five clinics in 2011 after an unsuccessful attempt to recover from being cut loose by Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
Known then as Planned Parenthood Golden Gate, the affiliate was aborted for financial mismanagement. Also recall PPGG created the now infamous “A Super Hero for Choice” video.
PPGG’s territory was divided between the Planned Parenthood Mar Monte and Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific affiliates.
The downside to this story is that since reorganizing the area, Planned Parenthood has opened six new clinics – one referral (Oakland), three medical abortion (Hayward, Mill Valley, , Ukiah), and two surgical abortion (San Francisco, Santa Rosa).
This, in part or whole, explains why Choice ran its course and went defunct. PP is successfully driving out its abortion competition, although neither of its two surgical abortion mills commit late-term abortion, both stopping at 14 weeks.
The answering machine at the after-hours Choice Group phone number does not give any indication its group is closed. That said, it still provides numbers for the clinics it lists on its website as long defunct.

The lord is working Amen!
YESSSSS!!!!!!!
A cascade of closings in Pennsylvania and California?
Investigations and allegations in Texas and other states?
Why haven’t we heard any of this in the mainstream media? These consequences of the Gosnell trial — are they not also newsworthy?
I don’t think this is malicious censorship anymore — I think the MSM still do not have their heads in the news game. We might has well have state-controlled news, for all the competence that our celebrated “free press” has given us lately.
Why can’t the MSM even manage to walk and chew gum at the same time?
How hard is it to cover a serial killer’s trial and a mass murder event (Gosnell and Boston Marathon) at the same time?
Is it really so hard to report on two White House scandals while both are on-going (Benghazi and the abusive IRS investigations)?
==================================
Anyhow, let us give thanks for the closings.
In our long battle against the abortion industry, a Planned Parenthood monopoly will be easier to attack than a decentralized network of local abortuaries.
Love is not a victory march
It’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
And even though it all went wrong
I’ll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah
-L Cohen
Because it’s too late for someone. May God bless and protect our children. Hallelujah.
Thank you Lord for hearing and answering our prayers. SHUT EM DOWN!!!

“I’m not one to get overly spiritual but think about this: from the moment Obama said “God bless Planned Parenthood” everything has been been unraveling for him.”
I expect we’ll see more of this – you’ll be happy.
There will be fewer surgical abortions – you’ll be happy.
Because most will be replaced by chemical terminations – you’ll be happy?
And if you’ve ensured that there are not enough reputable clinics remaining for those who still require surgical abortion, there’ll always be someone willing to step into the breach – you’ll be happy?
Dear Reality,
Noone REQUIRES a surgical abortion (or any other type of abortion for that matter)! They require help to see that their pregnancy is about taking care of themselves and preparing for the BLESSING of the CHILD. In other words, it is OUR responsibility to let them know it is not necessary to destroy the life of their baby (and also diminish their womanhood and their mental state) to get through a difficult time. It is our responsibility, in the best way possible, to LOVE and not chastise.
This is good news, however it could also mean that abortion providers in the private sector are being driven out of business, while corporate giants such as Planned Parenthood will continue to grow & fill in the gaps. To truly reduce the number of abortion services available & have something really to celebrate, corporate abortion providers (such as Planned Parenthood clinics) would also need to close their doors.
Newsflash Reality,
There’s a reason it’s called elective abortion, the majority are by largely preformed for purely elective socio-economic reasons, wanted but not necessarily needed. Now on the other hand, therapeutic abortions which are medically necessary compose less than 3% of all abortions each year (in other words, stop hiding behind the health exceptions to justify abortion on demand for any reason). Also, in a situation where a woman required an abortion due to life threatening condition would she not be better served in a hospital, than an outpatient clinic, where she could be more closely monitored & receive advanced care & treatment?

If these mills were “reputable”, they wouldn’t be closing. Also, no one is stopped from opening a “reputable” one.
Hi Ladybug 1:43PM
I would think a doctor very derelict in his/her responsibility to a patient if her life or health is in any way endangered by a pregnancy and he/she does not refer the patient to specialized care, be it a cardiologist, a high risk OB, a diabetic specialist, oncologist, etc. It would be as if a patient diagnosed with cancer or MS was told by their doctor to go find someone who can take care of them.
