Andrew Klavan hired to write screenplay for Gosnell movie
As I’ve begun to get into the research materials, it’s started to come home to me that we’ve all taken on a huge responsibility…The women who were brutalized by this Gosnell monster — they can tell their stories. But all his victims, all those babies — we’ve got to figure out a way to speak for them somehow…
What really grabbed me about this is that, here you have the worst serial killer in American history — the banality of evil made flesh — and yet there’s this powerful bureaucratic inertia that provides him cover…Even when he’s discovered, there’s this real reluctance to bring the truth to the public.
The Gosnell murders were an inconvenient truth that no one wanted to tell.
~ Bestselling novelist Andrew Klavan (pictured), sharing his thoughts on the Kermit Gosnell movie project, in which he has been hired to write the screenplay, The Hollywood Reporter, September 2
…which will never be aired on PBS.

I’m glad they hired a guy with decent writing experience. I’m looking forward to the end result!

This crime dramatization might do better at the box office than some abortion romantic comedies.

True, but that’s setting the bar pretty low.

Be that voice please Andrew. Be the voice for all of those precious little ones who lost their lives. Speak for them so the world may know.

This was great news. I’m a big fan of his articles and videos over at PJ Media.

In order to do Gosnell justice, Klavan needs to show the context he worked in: just another part of mainstream American abortion practice.
Gosnell became a pariah among his fellows not because of what he did but because of the filthy conditions in which he did it. If not for the cat feces and fleas, he’d have been painted as persecuted and misunderstood, perhaps even aggressively defended.
Remember, the prochoice movement started defense funds for Benjamin Munson, Raymond Showery, and Bruce Steir. They have rushed repeatedly to the defense of LeRoy Carhart. The big difference is purely cosmetic. If Gosnell’s clinic had been as clean as a school cafeteria, instead of more on a par with an inner-city bus station mens’ room, this would have blown over.

I like his attitude. Already, too many people who should know better have shoved the Gosnell story out of mind. What happened at 3801 Lancaster must NEVER be forgotten. If Klavan can help get that across, more power to him.

Mr, Klavan is a brave man. I know a little bit about the publishing industry and it is very proabortion. I hope he’s not blacklisted after this.
