1) Do you live in Philadelphia, PA?
2) If you do not live within the city limits of Philadelphia, PA, do you live in one of the surrounding counties: Chester, Bucks, Mongtomery, Delaware, Lancaster, Berks … or in NJ (Cherry Hill, Vineland, Vorhees, Haddonfield, etc.), or Delaware?

I reckon that a politician who does not know when life begins (or that innocent life should be protected) is not qualified to order cops or troops or IRS auditors into action. Such a person cannot discern a fair budget or a charitable program. Such a person is not fit to lead anything.
It is a very effective litmus test for a capable public servant.
Same with the private sector. I won’t work for a boss who is pro-abortion. Such a person will make bad choices and screw the employees over, first time a difficult decision comes to pass.

Perhaps you missed Mr. Phil Robertson’s comments about black people that were published in GQ magazine last year:
“I never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person,” Robertson said at the time. “Not once. Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I’m with the blacks, because we’re white trash. We’re going across the field … They’re singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person, say, ‘I tell you what: These doggone white people’—not a word! … Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues.”
As an African American woman I find this statement EXTREMELY offensive. I know many many black people from that era, including my father, who grew up in rural Florida, who were NOT happy and DID sing the blues, who had loved ones killed by the “Night Riders” (Klan).
Yet, I am pro-life and I do agree with him about not voting for pro-abortion politicians.
With the political correctness, you are supposed to believe that the living conditions of Blacks were characterized by race based oppression or sequestration no matter the location or generation. It is an OFFENSE if anyone speaks of a different lifestyle condition.
Phil was saying that where he was, everyone was poor, farming, working hard, going to church, generally happy, and too busy to whine, no matter if they were Black or White.
Phil’s take home is that working hard and going to church make people happy, (and government entitlements make people weak).
That is OFFENSIVE to leftists.

I grew up on an island north of Seattle. The only non-white people in the area prior to about 1960 were native-American or Asian, but the Klan was there in force. In the 1930’s they burned down the Catholic church in my hometown. There is still a large proportion of Croatians there. The Klan was never held responsible. There was quite a bit of discrimination going round…that wasn’t the only act of violence either. I am sure they were plenty sore about it. Yet, when I was growing up in 1960’s and 70’s, I never heard anyone mention it as anything other than an interesting bit of history. Apparently, when the Klan died out…so did the ill will within the community. As a result, I grew up singing the blues because it seemed cool.
Okay white people, phillymiss’s parents, you know, actually lived in those conditions as she’s shared before.
If you think that poor whites and poor blacks got along hunky dory in the south, you are simply blind/never talked to an elderly southern black person/never been to the south/or just wanna live in denial. I mean, come on. He’s talking about under Jim Crow. Just, stop it. You’re embarrassing yourselves. It’s easy for Phil to claim there was no mistreatment of black people or unhappiness in their community under the JIM CROW SOUTH, because he wasn’t the one who had to live in fear of being lynched for looking the wrong way at a white woman, or was otherwise affected by the inequities.
He’s not wrong about abortion, but he also thinks fifteen year old girls should get married along with other interesting views. Don’t like the guy, at all. Being right on abortion is good though.
And lol @ Phil because he didn’t hear anyone complain about how whites treated them. No crap, Phil, you’re some white guy. In the fifties and sixties they weren’t going to share their woes about being discriminated against with ya, no matter if you were buddy buddy in the fields or not.

I totally agree with Phil on voting only for candidates who respect the sanctity of life from conception through natural death. Bho voted, as i recall, against the ban on stabbing fullterm babies in the head and sucking out their brains; and also against giving any comfort, aid, or protection to babies who somehow managed to survive the horrors of induced abortion. Seriously, What kind of person is Ok with either of those things? One who is either abysmally ignorant of the facts of human life, or else is totally devoid of any conscience or empathy towards those he views as less than himself. Lack of conscience and empathy are characteristic of both psychopathy and malignant narcissism, and those are not people who should be in power over others. I know prolifers used to get a lot of flack about being ‘single issue voters’, probably still do in some quarters; but here’s the thing: The essential difference between a just, humane, optimally free society (of any size) and a barbaric tyranny lies in whether the strong/privileged are encouraged to use their advantages to protect and assist the comparatively vulnerable, or whether they are encouraged to misuse, imo, those advantages to exploit, harm, or destroy the vulnerable. So how they have viewed and treated the preborn, elderly, handicapped, etc. is a HUGE deal, since people in positions of power tend to view those beneath them in that light. Power tends to corrupt; and one of the ways it does that is the perspective one gets of being elevated above others, and looking down on them socially, economically, etc. G.K. Chesterton observed that looking down on things might be entertaining in its way, but the trouble with it is that from that vantage point nothing can be seen as it really is; it will appear either foreshortened or deformed to one viewing it from such a height; and of course it will always appear much smaller than it actually is. So it is a good idea to examine very carefully how a candidate for political office views and treats the ‘little people’ before you vote yourself into that position relative to him/her. Sort of like going out on a dinner date early on in a new relationship; pay very close attention to how your date treats your server. If, all other things being equal, the server is treated with disrespect, abuse, or unkindness, then run, don’t walk, away.
