Nicki Minaj says abortion haunts her but she’s still pro-choice
I thought I was going to die…. I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I’d ever gone through.
… It’d be contradictory if I said I wasn’t pro-choice….
I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have anything to offer a child.
~ Rapper Nicki Minaj reflecting on her abortion in an interview with Rolling Stone via E! Online, December 30
She could have offered the child LIFE.

This article says Nicki had an abortion at age 15:

If Nicki aborted her baby at age 15, how old was she when she started having sex with “older guy from Queens”? How much older was the father? Where did she have the abortion done?
Get to the real story, Rolling Stones.

I am a little puzzled by her statement that she is pro-choice because otherwise, it would be contradictory.
Nicki, it is OKAY for you to say, “I had an abortion and it was awful, and if you don’t want to be haunted by it like I was, then CHOOSE LIFE for your baby.”
It is not “contradictory” to say “I made a decision that has haunted me forever” and to learn from one’s mistakes.
That’s called wisdom.

The, “I didn’t have anything to offer a child.” lie. Yes you did, the child’s life. What they really mean is that, “the child didn’t have anything to offer me.”

joeg, you should look at the lyrics to Autobiography and have a little sympathy:
Please baby forgive me, mommy was young, mommy was to busy tryna have fun
and now I don’t pat myself on the back for sending you back
’cause god knows I was better than that to conceive then leave you the concept alone seems evil I’m trapped in my conscience
I adhere to the nonsense listened to people who told me I wasn’t ready for you
But how the f*** would they know what I was ready to do
And of course it wasn’t your fault
It’s like I feel it in the air, I hear you saying mommy don’t cry
can’t you see I’m right here I gotta let you know what you mean to me
when I’m sleeping I see you in my dreams with me wish I could touch your little face
or just hold your little hand if it’s part of gods plan, maybe we can meet again
I agree with Kel and would welcome Nicki into the pro-life fold. I’m sure Nicki Minaj is afraid abortion advocates will call her a hypocrite if she adopts the pro-life label, which is an understandable fear. But ultimately it matters little what she wants to call herself. Releasing “Autobiography” was a hugely pro-life act that I have no doubt will prevent many abortions. Actions speak louder than words, amirite?

So much for the Pro-choicer’s “Abortion on demand- WITHOUT apology ” mantra.
Women DO regret their abortions.
(No..not “all” women..still..)

Same with actress Valerie Bertinelli (as I quoted a while back):
She had a miscarriage, and it “troubled” her –
yet she STILL says she thinks “it should be a woman’s choice” (to have an abortion).
The “disconnect” astounds me.
