Abortion-1by Kelli

A parting note from Kelli:

Fifteen years ago, I heard Jill Stanek, who was still relatively unknown at the time, tell her story about her experiences at Christ Hospital. At the time, I was operating a pregnancy resource center. I never imagined that one day, years later, I’d stumble upon her blog, become a regular reader and commenter, and then one day become the administrative assistant and editor of her blog.

It’s been a privilege and an honor to work here for six years, getting to know so many dedicated readers and volunteers who give of themselves to help advance the pro-life message. This blog wouldn’t be what it was and is without ALL of you, so thank you! And thank you most of all to Jill for giving me this opportunity and for believing that I could learn what I needed to know to do my job effectively, even when I didn’t believe it myself. :)

Love to all of you.

No matter what the political talking heads would like to claim, women can’t be put into a box labeled “women voters” or “women’s issues” so easily. This video of women reacting to one word – “abortion” – says so much… not necessarily from what is said, but from how it is said.

The difference between the women who support abortion and those that don’t seems stark to me, as I watch the faces of the women responding. I see pain, I see compassion, and I see defiance. I often wonder if that defiance really serves to mask wounds that fester beneath the surface of the psyche.

Does every woman have her own reasons for abortion? Yes. But does this then mean abortion is “none of our business”?

If you are hurting from a past abortion, please reach out to your local pregnancy resource center or to a group like Rachel’s Vineyard.

If you are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and need to speak to someone who can help, please go to Option Line, call 1-800-712-4357, or text “HELPLINE” to 313131.
