Bristol Palin announces pregnancy

palinby Carder

I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you.

But please respect Tripp’s and my privacy during this time. I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy.

My little family always has, and always will come first.

Tripp, this new baby, and I will all be fine, because God is merciful.

Pro-life video of the day: The View discusses Bristol Palin and their own reflections on new motherhood

by LauraLoo

The ladies of The View shared their compassion and empathy towards single-mom Bristol Palin who was featured on her new reality show Life’s a Tripp.

The conversation then took a turn as Elizabeth, Sherri, Joy and Whoopi discussed their memories of birthing and new motherhood.  (As usual, Whoopi’s a bit over the top.)

Lunch Break: Bristol Palin says, “I lost my virginity while drunk.”

by LauraLoo

Reports US Magazine:

In her new autobiography, Not Afraid of Life:  My Journey So Far, Bristol Palin reveals she lost her virginity while drunk for the first time to Levi Johnston (aka, the “gnat”) during a camping trip.

Bristol also gave an interview recently to ABC on the reality of teen motherhood…

Is writing this book (as cathartic as it may be to Bristol, as well as helpful to other teens), a good idea as to what is long-term best for son Tripp, age 2?  Verbal smack-downs from both of his parents’ tell-all books (Levi’s book is due out later this year) is not exactly taking the high road as they air their dirty laundry.

Reported The Insider, May 9:

Bristol Palin is making her way back to our television screens!  The 20-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin is moving in with fellow “Dancing with the Stars” season 11 alumnus Kyle Massey, 19, and his brother Chris, 21, for a reality show following the controversial single mom as she works at a small charity. The show will be on the BIO Channel and, according to a report on People.com, BIO has already ordered ten half-hour episodes of the currently untitled documentary series.

Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston: Off again

It was only 3 weeks ago I optimistically reported Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston had reemerged as a couple with plans to marry.

Many of you commenters were not so optimistic, and it turns out you were right. What a cad that guy is. And Bristol was (hopefully not still is) too trusting. From People magazine, August 3:

And just like that, they were off again. “It’s over. I broke up with him,” Bristol Palin tells People exclusively of her 2nd try at an engagement to Levi Johnston, father of her 19-month-old son Tripp.

Bristol Palin’s mixed message as this week’s People cover story

bristol_palin.jpgBristol Palin and baby Tripp are featured on the mixed-message cover of this week’s People Magazine.
The photo is of a happy high school grad mom with her beautiful baby, while the caption reads, “Gov. Sarah Palin’s daughter talks about her life with baby Tripp. ‘If girls realized the consequences of sex, nobody would be having sex,’ says Bristol. ‘Trust me. Nobody.'”
There surely must be a better way to convey the combination abstinence/anti-abortion message.
The captions leading into the cover story are no better….

Bristol Palin mocked for abstinence stance

This cartoon by Signe Wilkinson was posted in the Nashville Tennessean on Mother’s Day:

Bristol Palin recently became an ambassador and spokesperson for the Candie’s Foundation, as reported in a recent (Prolifer)ations.
As someone who had a child out of wedlock, Bristol is being mercilessly mocked for speaking out in behalf of abstinence….
