  • The FRC Blog explains how Democrat Sen. Patty Murray’s hasty “Protect Women’s Health From Corporate Interference Act of 2014” bill is actually anti-civil rights, anti-constitutional, anti-business, anti-religion, anti-woman, and just downright discriminatory.

  • Americans United for Life praises yesterday’s Supreme Court decision, with CEO Charmaine Yoest remarking that it was “a victory for common-sense as pro-life Americans do not lose their First Amendment freedoms when they open a family business or when they value unborn life”. But the battle is far from over, as “[a]bortion is woven into the healthcare law at multiple levels, making repeal of the law a pro-life necessity.”

Willful blindness to link between Detroit’s abortion/preemie crises

Abortion rate Detroit related to preemie rate Live birth less than 37 weeks Detroit - abortion preemie rate related

It is one of those obvious connections I cannot comprehend the world not seeing.

Actually, liberals, media, and feminists are covering it up, which is why the rest of the world can’t see it. They’re not being told.

At least 59 studies to date confirm that forcibly opening a woman’s cervix to commiit an induced abortion can lead to an incompetent cervix for subsequent births. Even without studies to back that fact up, it’s just common sense.

Other known medical conditions than can lead to premature births and may be related to abortion include ”uterine adhesions, infection, mental stress, increased maternal age, and substance abuse,” quoting LifeIssues.net.

Preemie births have skyrocketed since the legalization of abortion in the U.S. in 1973. According to the American Association of Pro-Life Gynecologists and Obstetricians:

Premature birth (birth before 37 weeks) has increased 27% since 1981. In 2007 the premature… rate in America was 12.6% of all live births (and over 17% of all African-American births).

With all that in mind, read this maddening, heartbreaking June 10 Bloomberg article:

Guttmacher, media downplay pro-life factors in abortion decline

guttmacher10by Kelli

How does the Guttmacher Institute interpret its findings [of a drop in the abortion rate from 2008-2011] in light of its pro-abortion mantra “safe, legal and rare?” The organization doesn’t appear to be too pleased, but then, it began under the auspices of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

In a press release, Elizabeth Nash, the state-issues manager for Guttmacher, said, “As we monitor trends in abortion going forward, it is critical that we also monitor whether these state restrictions are preventing women who need abortion services from accessing them”….

Orthodox Jew talks birth control – but what about purity?

lichtmanBirth control is not a woman’s responsibility. Unfortunately, at this point in time, the pill version of birth control — and, according to many rabbis, one of the only halachically acceptable versions of contraceptive — is available for women only. But that doesn’t make fertility a woman’s-only issue. I would be the one who would get pregnant, but it would be our child. Ultimately I’m the one swallowing the pill, but he can and should be just as responsible for reminding me to take it.
