Pro-abortion politician called out for contradictory statements on value of life

Only two hours apart, last week, the minister of youth and culture contradicted herself and rendered her empathy empty, hollow and superficial. She chastised the killing of the three teenage boys in Clarendon, stating the act shows that the perpetrators “[had] no feelings, compassion or love and do not value human life, especially that of […]

Respecting human life and dignity begins in the womb

by Kelli If society does not respect life in the womb – the dignity of that life in its most defenseless form – how can we expect them to see the dignity in that girl or boy who’s trafficked? How can we expect them to see the dignity in that woman or man who stars […]

  • Big Blue Wave points out the reluctance of those on the pro-abortion side of the aisle to state whether or not the human fetus at 20 weeks is, in fact, a human being. First, Nancy Pelosi dodged the question, and then Democrat Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland (where late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart kills viable children for a living), claimed that whether or not a 20-week preborn child is human “is not a real issue.”

  • At National Review, Michael J. New addresses Politico’s recent poll, the results of which were used to try and make Democrats’ views on abortion appear mainstream, when they aren’t. The Democratic Party supports abortion on demand, not abortion with restrictions.
  • At Priests for Life, Fr. Frank Pavone also responds to the results of both the Politico and Gallup polls:

“When 80 percent of voters in highly contested states and Congressional districts say they want babies protected from late-term abortions, if not most or all abortions, it’s pretty clear who the extremists are – those who support abortion on demand.”…

Bioethicists upset that “non-academics” dislike eugenic infanticide

[Bioethicists] Giubilini and Minerva [the same authors of a paper last year supporting infanticide for Down syndrome] are expressing surprise that the Down syndrome community opposes their agenda of eugenics and infanticide…. They would like to dismiss anyone who disagrees with their conclusions as being irrational because we don’t appreciate the opportunities of what they […]

Rubio: Libs preach climate change but ignore science of conception

Just because [you] believe that life… all human life is worthy of protection at every stage in its development does not make you a chauvinist. In fact, the people who are actually closed-minded in American politics are the people that love to preach about the certainty of science in regards to our climate, but ignore […]

  • Fox News has a piece on President Obama’s favorability decline among Catholics and women – a likely backfiring of the “war on women” rhetoric and attacks on religious freedom:

The Obama administration no doubt knew it would lose some support with Catholics in the mandate. But they surely did not anticipate the strong and unified voice with which Catholic leaders, in particular bishops, responded even after the administration offered a compromise widely rejected as an accounting gimmick….

As for whether the government should single out birth control to be mandated and cost-free when so many other drugs are not, again a clear majority of women — sixty-three percent — say “no.” After all, is your mother’s blood pressure medication or your child’s asthma medicine free by federal decree?

Questioning personhood to justify homicide

… It is so clear that someone only questions the personhood of a human she wishes to harm. It’s not a logical debate, it’s a way to justify homicide. ~Commenter Lauren, Stanek post “Human life begins with personhood,” May 30 [Photo of 8 week fetus by Lennart Nilsson, 1965]
