Planned Parenthood uses mergers to handle affiliate noncompliance

Screen Shot 2013-06-11 at 5.04.21 PMIn December 2010 Planned Parenthood ordered all its affiliates to begin offering abortions at a minimum of one clinic location by the beginning of 2013.

At the time the number of Planned Parenthood affiliates stood at 87, far below their all-time high of 200+. That number has now now shrunken further to 73 with the news earlier this week that Planned Parenthood of Kentucky was merging with Planned Parenthood of Indiana to create the too cute acronym, PPINK.

  • At Live Action, Rebecca Frazer points out the ridiculousness of Planned Parenthood of Indiana promoting themselves as an adoption referrer:

Yes, you read that right. Planned Parenthood is excited that they have contributed to a whopping twelve adoptions in six years. If we do some simple math that comes out to an average of two adoptions a year.

Last year alone, Planned Parenthood of Indiana performed 5,250 abortions. 5,250. That means that if 2011 was an average adoption year, Planned Parenthood helped with one adoption for every 2,625 abortions they performed. Perhaps they should send their adoption counselors back to job training.

  • The Indianapolis Star has a puff piece on Planned Parenthood of Indiana CEO Betty Cockrum.
  • The Kansas State Board of Healing Arts has revoked the medical license of late abortionist George Tiller’s one-time “rubber stamper” abortionist, Ann Neuhaus:

The administrative judge concluded in February that Neuhaus performed inadequate mental health exams in 2003 on 11 patients, aged 10 to 18. The judge said Neuhaus’ records didn’t contain the information necessary to show that she did thorough exams, and the patients’ care was “seriously jeopardized.”

“Her actions clearly show a disregard for her patients’ safety and care, which causes her to be a threat to any future patients she might have,” said Reese Hays, the attorney on the board’s litigation team who presented the case against Neuhaus.

by JivinJ, host of the blog, JivinJehoshaphat Planned Parenthood of Indiana is refusing to separate abortion services from its other services in order to retain government funding: State attorneys suggested in a brief filed in August that Planned Parenthood should just separate its services to ensure no public money goes toward abortion. While officials with […]

Planned Parenthood seeks restraining order to block new Indiana law that cut off funding
