Parker: Yes, a woman can be both feminist and conservative

by Kelli Only in Washington would anyone ask this question: Can a woman be both feminist and conservative? Why, yes, she can! But the question does deserve a more serious answer so women can stop fussing over labels and litmus tests to determine whether a woman who doesn’t fall in line with feminist ideology can […]

Pro-life video of the day: The empty manger

by Hans Johnson Since 2003, the Pro-Life Action League has held an Empty Manger Christmas Caroling Event at abortion clinics. It also offers information to support the growing number of groups participating. While the Empty Tomb is the centerpiece of Christianity, an empty womb – and manger – and crib – prevent all the miracles […]

Surprising pro-life wins in CROmnibus

House Speaker John Boehner Holds Weekly News Conference

You’ll recall that in August the California Department of Managed Health Care issued a mandate requiring all insurance issuers to immediately add surgical and RU-486 abortion coverage to their plans, even those for nonprofit religious institutions and churches.

Woman “mooed” by coworkers for pumping breast milk

by Carder When she interviewed with the company in 2012, Van De Pitte told supervisors she needed some flexibility because she had two young children and was still nursing her 1-year-old son, and would need a private space where she could pump during the work day, according to the complaint. On her first day of […]

Pro-life blog buzz 12-9-14

pro-lifeby Susie Allen, host of the blog, Pro-Life in TN, and Kelli

  • Suzy B agrees with pro-choice forces on a lawsuit against the alleged discrimination against pregnant employees in the workplace:

Both pro-life and pro-choice groups have filed amicus briefs on behalf of Peggy Young. The Women’s Law Project and Legal Momentum argued that the previous ruling in favor of UPS was incorrect on the basis of “misconceiving gender stereotypes in pregnancy discrimination.” Americans United for Life has filed an amicus brief, which the Susan B. Anthony List, among other pro-life groups have signed on to, coming from a different approach, standing up for the unborn and women. The brief argues that in creating the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, Congress was trying to “protect women from economic pressure to abort their children because of pregnancy discrimination.”

Pro-life vid of day: Preborn baby dances to Taylor Swift song

The problem with Cecile Richards’ abortion

elle-01-cecile-ClKQmM-blogPlanned Parenthood President Cecile Richards disclosed in Elle in October that she had had an abortion:

I had an abortion. It was the right decision for me and my husband, and it wasn’t a difficult decision. Before becoming president of Planned Parenthood eight years ago, I hadn’t really talked about it beyond family and close friends. But I’m here to say, when politicians argue and shout about abortion, they’re talking about me—and millions of other women around the country.

At the time I thought the “it wasn’t a difficult decision” line was terribly insensitive to Richards’ three surviving children. They certainly know it could have been any one of them who was snuffed, in which case so what, according to their mother?

Students for Life reaches out to pregnant women in college

by Kelli Often the message she hears is: Have an abortion or drop out of school…. For her and her child’s future and well being, our goal should be to make sure she graduates…. [A] child born into poverty is seven times more likely to live in poverty his or her whole life. … Colleges […]
