I got an HIV test from Planned Parenthood. It was negative.
“Deliver the knock out punch.” Does that mean I’m going to get hit? Please don’t it’ll just make me cry.
Also I use fetus to describe the stage a human is in before it’s born. I just can’t see calling a fertilized egg a baby. I mean it’s still your child yes but it’s not a baby until it’s a bit more developed. And I wouldn’t describe abortion as “killing little kids.” And why are all the people the interviewed male?
Why are all the interviewees male?….because women aren’t stupid enough to be caught on camera saying things like “down with choice” or whatever fool thing came out of that poor fumble-tongued boy’s mouth?
And for a more serious answer, IMO, because the American “Life” League wants to make sure that we all get the message that women aren’t capable of making these types of decisions.
Yikes! I became embarrassed for that guy 2 seconds into his sales pitch.
So are the pregnant women the prize? I don’t like the boxing analogy when it comes to my uterus. Only my boyfriend and doctor in there please : )

I loved the part where he described the crowd at the “March for Life” at 400,000.
It was at best 40,000 (and that’s a GENEROUS estimate.)

…………………………
I can hear ‘snake oil’ within two syllables. When the dude isn’t being paid to sell pl propaganda, he sells…….. used cars? Cemetery plots? Amway? Kiddy porn?
It didn’t even cross my mind that there were no females until it was brought up here. I think those boys were very sweet and courageous to voice their opinions, considering the fact that their views won’t be considered “cool” among most of their peers. God bless them all.
“The Baby Borrowers” was supposed to premier on Monday the 18th. It looks like it’s been pulled.
I was really looking foreward to that…
“considering the fact that their views won’t be considered “cool” among most of their peers.”
Well young boys assuming they should have control over my uterus doesn’t fly well with me.
Jess 10:12,
It’s not about you. It’s about the baby.
Where is the baby? In my uterus. You could call wanting to have the final say in what grows inside of me selfish, but I call it smart. Who else knows my body better then I do? I should have control over it.
I mean what’s next? You can’t have pierced ears? I have to eat meat? I have to wear a chastity belt?

Come on, Jess, be real. Piercing your ears and carrying a life inside of you are two VERY different comparisons. Piercing your ears doesn’t end a life does it? I didn’t think so.
I got an HIV test from Planned Parenthood. It was negative.
I got one too and it was negative. Except not from PP, it was from my doctor.
Look in the background of the March footage… there sure are a lot of girls there.

No, it was from your mummy and daddy’s doctor. Not everyone is lucky enough to spend life on the parent’s dime.
Planned Parenthood is a blessing for those out in REAL LIFE.

FF,
You sound way to tight about finances. People get a lot possesions they don’t need and could often make due with less expense cars, houses etc… A baby is a lot better return on your dollar. They are really, really good for your heart.

“My body, my choice” was a slogan created in the 1970’s by feminists promoting abortion. When you think about it, abortion isn’t a male issue or a female issue, it’s a couple issue.
FF:1:34,
“Planned Parenthood” and “blessing” don’t belong in the same sentence. I think PP would be offended.
I didn’t watch the video, but all of these comments about “my body” and “my uterus” are patently irrelevant. As I’ve said before, the vast majority of PL people don’t give a fig about what women do with their bodies and uteruses. So long as they don’t kill others. End of story. PLers do not believe that people – women and men -should not have choices regarding their own bodies. Simply believe that those choices end where the body of another begins. Why is this hard to understand?
And Jess – your boyfriend is *in* your *uterus*? Kinda gross – or Freudian! Your doctor’s in there too? Interesting, I’ve had two children via c-section and neither my husband nor my doctor has ever been *in* my uterus! It’s a place that’s been perfectly adapted for my BABIES, but never for my husband or doctor!

The Obituary of Common Sense
My parents told me about Mr. Common Sense early in my life and told meI would do well to call on him when making decisions. It seems he was always around in my early years but less and less as time passed by. Today I read his obituary.
Please join me for a moment of silence in remembrance. For Common Sense has served us all so well for so many generations.
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has
been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the
worm, life isn’t always fair, and maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more
than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent
to administer aspirin, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student; but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t legally defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers; I Know my Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I’m a Victim.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
A baby is a lot better return on your dollar. They are really, really good for your heart.

Oh, JEEEEEEEEEEEZ….
MK, I cant tell you how many times my grandmother has sent me that e-mail.
I agree with much of it- to a point.
I’m a camp counselor, and we aren’t allowed to do stuff with the kids that we got to do when we were campers because it’s become too much of a liability. People have become sue-happy and obsessed with safety. Yes, safety is incredibly important, but you cant expect your kid to not get some bumps and bruises at summer camp. We have to document every injury in the nurse’s log (though thats more to protect us from false accusations of abuse). We are pressured to not do things where the kids could get hurt. Dodgeball was banned last summer because kids got hurt, and the camp has become more and more paranoid. People seem to have come to expect that kids should never get hurt, and any injury is a travesty. Its gotten to a point that’s absolutely ridiculous. You’re payingthe camp so the kids can have a good time. They’re going to get hurt, it happens. People need to stop being so paranoid and wake up. On top of that, the new director(s) are trying to run it more like a school in terms of discipline. Ridiculous.
/end rant
P.S if anyone so desires, I’m thinking about adding a couple authors to my blog, seeing as how I’ve been so busy lately. No real discussion has happened as I really have no following. But, I think it’d be fun to have an at least somewhat balanced team (i.e. conservative and liberals) blogging, and comparing/contrasting etc. I think it could also create some discussion (if between no one else than me and whoever else decides to write). Let me know if you’re interested, whether by email, facebook, or here :D
Planned Parenthood provided me with free health care when I had no insurance.
life isn’t always fair
MK, right on, and I’d add that one’s ideas of what is fair should not always be foisted upon others who have different ideas.
……
(don’t spend more than you earn)
Whew… no doubt, and we are so (tragically) far from unwinding this screwed-up situation.
……
Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition
Good grief… no doubt.
……
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.
Oh man… Triple No Doubt.
……
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student; but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
I think this one could be argued, i.e. as with people whose beliefs do not hold with giving aspirin, etc., to kids. Personally, I think it’s going to a ridiculous extreme, but still…. On pregnancy and abortion, the question of how to protect the student from abusive parents remains.
……
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
This one does have another side to it. No, it was not “promptly.” The woman first asked only for the payment of her medical bills. McDonald’s refused, and the case went to court.
There were over 700 cases of burns from Mickey D’s coffee, which was on average 20 to 30 degrees hotter than other sellers.
Stella Liebeck had third-degree burns and almost $20,000 in medical bills.
The jurors saw evidence of Mac the Knife settling out of court in all those 700+ prior cases, and felt that Ronnie McDonnie was willfully perpetuating a dangerous situation.
The final award by the judge was $480,000 and Stella and McDonald’s ended up settling on a substantially lower amount, the exact Dollar figure has not been disclosed.
mk:
Reminds me of a great book I’m reading: “Common Sense 101: Lessons from G.K. Chesterton” by Dale Ahlquist.
“And Jess – your boyfriend is *in* your *uterus*? Kinda gross – or Freudian! Your doctor’s in there too? ”
Yeah, they’re in there right now. I have to get them some breakfast.
Also not every child is a good investment. Some teenage boy down the street from my house killed his entire family a few back so his girlfriend could spend the night.
Hmm… other then the occasional mass murder our town is relatively crime-free.
And forcing a pregnant woman to eat meat isn’t so far fetched… After all people come up with Bible verses to the effect God gave us animals so we would eat them. People could say, “well you’re anemic and pregnant and it could effect your baby so you have to eat meat.” That’s why I should have the final say in what happens directly to my body.
“Also I use fetus to describe the stage a human is in before it’s born. I just can’t see calling a fertilized egg a baby”
You can call them a human but not a baby? Sorry, sounds like DENIAL.
Well it has all the human DNA but it still can’t feel, think, move, breath, it doesn’t have a heart or central nervous system or brain, it can’t poop, burp, smile. It’s not in a stage I would call it a baby. A baby is something that at least can defecate.
How about, “I won’t kill anything that poops.”
New’s flash. Babies poop. They just don’t use their poop chutes. They poop through their umbilical cord and then you send it out your poop chute.
They also breathe. Just not air, they breathe amniotic fluid in and out through their lungs, just as they would oxygen out of the womb.
By the time a woman usually finds out she is pregnant, the baby already has a beating heart, fingers, toes, eyes, ears, nose and tongue. (I know, because I saw it myself). http://www.pregnancy.org/pregnancy/fetaldevelopment1.php

Uh, yeah…
FF, 4:09
Umbelical cord
The flexible cordlike structure connecting a fetus at the navel with the placenta and containing two umbilical arteries and one vein that transport nourishment to the fetus and remove its wastes. Also called funis.
http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/umbilical+cord
Nope.
The “poo” is mecomium, and it never travels through the umbilical cord.
I think you might have me there on a technicality. I checked the dictionary and could not find poo but I looked up feces and the definition is – bodily waste discharged through the anus. Maybe Jess could clarify. Did she mean that she bwould not kill anything that discharges waste through the anus?
LOL Truthseeker
“And Jess – your boyfriend is *in* your *uterus*? Kinda gross – or Freudian! Your doctor’s in there too? ”
Yeah, they’re in there right now. I have to get them some breakfast.
LOL!

“Did she mean that she bwould not kill anything that discharges waste through the anus?”
Yes. Because the babies not pooping you’re the one doing all the work.
What a very odd standard by which to choose to kill or not to kill!
‘Kill Bill: Vol. 1’ and ‘Kill Bill: Vol. 2’ – what cinema should be.
And for something a little less controversial,
‘To Kill a Mockingbird.’
‘The Killing Fields’
‘Who’s Killing the Great Chefs of Europe’
Sally, I should see that “Chefs” movie. Ne’er e’en heard o’ it afore.
Now, ‘The Killing Fields’ – that was one kick-butt film.
