Pro-life vid of day: Sundance interview with “After Tiller” filmmakers

Since Dr. George Tiller’s assassination in Kansas in 2009, four doctors remain who commit third-trimester abortions in the United States. After Tiller moves between the rapidly unfolding stories of these doctors, all of whom were close colleagues of Tiller, and are fighting to keep this “service” available in the wake of his death.
Directors/producers Lana Wilson and Martha Shane are both Brooklyn-based filmmakers. After Tiller is Wilson’s first film.

Jill Stanek is a nurse turned speaker, columnist and blogger, a national figure in the effort to protect both preborn and postborn innocent human life.
The exercise of trying to make these mobsters seem human is interesting enough. I hope the film gets a wide audience, and the dialogue about abortion keeps drumming along.
I am a bit troubled that the documentary still paints pro-lifers as people who are “likely to be violent.”
If every pro-life activist disappeared, and every NRA/2nd Amendment activist disappeared, and even if every Republican voter disappeared — these folks would still live in fear of death threats and violence. The dangers of their lifestyle do not come from the peaceful and law-abiding movements that try to stop them.
They get paid to kill. They need to fear their own kind — the people who think that killing is a solution to their problems.
These “normal Americans” jab scissors in the backs of babies heads.
Yep. Normal like you and me.
Oh, but Cranky, don’t you know it’s a CALLING to “help women” by jabbing scissors in the backs of their babies’ almost full-term heads and suction out their brains? SUCH a calling. *tear*

‘butcher it up” was what the interviewer was afraid she would do when describing the film….actually she got it right.
They ‘always go back to the woman’…therein lies the problem…they are completely ignoring the tiny women and men in the womb…they should be considered more carefully, they are valuable no matter what condition they are in when they are born. They are made in the image of God and we are not supposed to be playing God and killing them because we don’t agree with what God has created. We are like ants on this planet and God is so merciful to let us live no matter how sick, sinful and ugly we are. How can we decide for ourselves that an innocent baby doesn’t deserve the same chance that God has given us?
Regarding the abortionists, one of the filmmakers says,
They do not get any public recognition or thanks very much for this work so for them to walk out on stage and for the audience to be cheering that way that they did, an outstanding ovation, when the doctors came out was just incredibly moving to see and we’re just so happy that they could feel that from the audience and get that response.
There were people who insisted on cheering for Hitler once they found out what he was really doing to, too. These interviews and this film will cause future generation’s jaws to drop.

I noticed this Freudian slip too, Jana.
The clip at the end: “what kind of life would he have?” well you won’t know if you abort. If the baby dies after being born, at least it had a shot to try and HAVE ANY life outside the womb. Why do people automatically assume that those with handicaps or hardships have NO chance for a happy life?
I really wish these film makers AND the doctors would stop referring to the killing of these babies as “work”. It isn’t WORK. It’s paid assassination and they get paid P L E N T Y for doing it. They’re the highest paid assassins on the planet with the easiest targets…the targets who can’t run or hide, are confined to the smallest space imaginable, and have ZERO capacity to flee. Some tough “work”, huh ? All 4 of them complete cowards and opportunists.
I noticed the “butcher” Freudian slip, as well. And, to think these four got a standing ovation by those at the film festival. Just shows the ignorance and moral depravity that pervades our society. But, the truth will ultimately prevail. May God have mercy on those who were duped into thinking that taking the life of their own child was the right thing to do. I cannot even imagine the weight of guilt and pain they must carry — may God truly have mercy.

I noted the reasons she listed with approval as to why women have third trimester abortions. The baby is sick. The mother is a teenager. The mother could not raise money for an abortion earlier. Is there any excuse for killing a viable child that this woman would not find legitimate?
What kind of life would Jennifer Morbelli have if she were still alive? Well, Mary, I don’t know. I’m not God. But the point is if someone has no chance to have a life, how do we know what kind of life they’d have? The future is an unknown entity.

Dont get me wrong. I cant imagine what having a disabled child would really be like but they deserve a chance like anyone else. The first part disturbed me the most. It showed the craptastic quality of late term abortion counseling. You have three choices and they all suck? What? You have three choices and only one of them will make my clinic thousands of dollars. How about that? I feel for these women. I pray for conversion in their hearts and the hearts of the doctors. Somewhere in their hearts they are unhappy. They could be providing comprehensive health care for these women, instead they are only adding to their trauma of an unwanted pregnancy, now and unwanted abortion.

Be very careful about leading women to believe its okay to get rid of their children. didn’t feel so good when someone threw you in the garbage can now did it? Demonic and Cher are older women now. maybe their next film could be about killing the elderly .

There are many thoughts expressed in this interview that are not supportive of the value of life. Consider these people are humans like all of us with value given by GOD. They do not know what they do not know. Our task is not to vilify the argument but share compassion and truth to everyone involved in the debate…even those who would identify us as their enemies. Please be careful with your words. The battle is not with the blind but with the lie. Let’s be passionate about the lie, speaking the truth in love. What options can we provide? Many if we are willing.
