New poll/Old poll
![]()
The new poll question is up:
You’ve now seen them all in action. So who is the best debater?
My previous poll question asked who you thought won the first presidential debate…
![]()
Obama? Clearly we weren’t watching the same debate.
Bear in mind Vizu tracks only the most recent 500 votes when looking for your own brightly colored flag…

As always, make comments to either this or last week’s poll here, not on the Vizu website.

Jill, with all due respect, no one seriously thinks McCain beat Obama at the debate. He was awkward and insulting.
Was that a green vote from Hawaii?
You know I remember the Lincoln v Douglas debates being mentioned in my history classes. But I do not believe I ever took the time to actually read the transcripts.
How do you think todays presidential/vice presidential candidates would stack up against Mr. Lincoln and Mr. Douglas?
Did you hear when McCain heard o’bama was comparing himself to Abraham Lincoln, John said, ‘I knew Abraham Lincoln. Barack o’bama is no Abraham Lincoln.
Do you know the differenc between Barack o’bama and Bill Clinton?
Barack o’bama has two daughters.
I know it is not funny. It is not supposed to be.
I seriously thought that McCain won the debate, but I judge debates based on truth and facts. I know, I’m weird that way.
I know, I’m weird that way.

yeah, that way.
Wouldn’t it make a lot more sense if we simply allowed California, Massachussetts, New York, New Hampshire and Illinois to break away from the Union and form their own Communist Country?
Obama would make a marvelously delightful Karl Marx or Mao father figure…
Chris: Wouldn’t it make a lot more sense if we simply allowed California, Massachussetts, New York, New Hampshire and Illinois to break away from the Union and form their own Communist Country?
Heh – Chris, you forgot
Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Hawaii, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia. ; )
Doug,
I happened to catch Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont on C-span the other night during all the hot air emissions over the ‘financial crisis’. He was not only naming names, he had poster board sized photos of the chief perpetrators. Bernie is a self avowed socialists, but he is a equal opportunity blamer. I got to give the man his props. His knife cuts both ways.
It seems like we are in The Twilight Zones. The media is giving the election to Obama…… according to the polls Obama is way ahead.
Maybe it’s denial on my part….. but I really don’t believe the polls are right.
McCain has to step up and show he’s the one to lead the country for the next four years. I really believe with the economic turmoil this election is going to be won on leadership
And good for Palin for bringing up Obama’s ties to Ayers…. most definitely calls into question once again Obama’s character and judgement.
Huckabee’s program on Fox News tonight was good. He interviewed Jon Voight, the actor who was introducing Palin during a rally in CA either today or tomorrow. Voight talked about the “Three A’s” which were going to be especially problematic for Obama’s campaign in the weeks to come.
1) AYERS, WILLIAM (Palin mentioned him today)
2) ALINSKY, SAUL (Influenced Obama’s ideology, now deceased)
3) ACORN
I Googled and found this link about Alinsky:
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/Read.aspx?GUID=d6e27ece-9798-4f01-a378-3f1405f69704
McCain needs to put a big “ACORN” sign around Obama’s neck, metaphorically. It was ACORN who demanded that the government force banks to give loans to people who could not or would not pay them back. It was ACORN who was ultimately responsible for the current financial crisis. And who did Obama serve as a “community organizer”? ACORN.
Joanne: The media is giving the election to Obama…… according to the polls Obama is way ahead.
Karl Rove is saying that Obama would win if the election were now.
It was ACORN who demanded that the government force banks to give loans to people who could not or would not pay them back. It was ACORN who was ultimately responsible for the current financial crisis.
Well, maybe one-fifth of one per cent of the current financial crisis…..
Hal:
You’re not one to be pointing fingers about being insulting.
What do you call every abortion?
Jill:
These polls are useless.
The so-called born alive bill has some no-name actor who starred in a low-budget movie, but Obama has Shakira as a supporter. Not only is she hispanic, she is more importantly talented and people have actually heard of her.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14286.html
Since both candidates and campaigns are pro-choice with few exceptions and are cool with letting baby murderers go free without being punished for committing the crime of murder – who the hell cares Jill!?!?!!!!?!??!?!???????????
Does FoxNEWS and what they have on the news rule your thinking Jill?
Is anyone here going to claim that McCain and Palin have any real plans to even put a small dent in the rate of abortion if elected?
Oooh, Shakira!! Oh, and don’t forget Matt Damon!! And Oprah!! And Whoopi!! I am thrilled for all of them and their Obama.
I don’t ever vote these polls on the internet because I never know which ones are going to put viruses or whatever on my computer BUT LET ME SAY HERE that I watched Obama say the same thing that he always says and it didn’t change my opinion of him. I know too much about Obama. I’ll be at the Jacksonville, Florida Palin Rally tomorrow morning. I’m so excited. I’m so freaking excited. If you happen to see someone giving the middle finger to protesters who may say something about palin and animals, you’ll know the finger probably belongs to me. I may be nice, but it depends how nice they are.
McCain won Palin won. Palin definitely one. Although Biden was sweet and I pity him for joining the ticket. God bless him and God bless his family during this really tough time since he lost his mother. I really am going to miss this blog so much. I’ll take pictures of any pro-life signs for you. :)
oops I mean palin definitely won.
I saw Shakira’s name and Matt Damon. I’d rather not know. I won’t. Shakira sings ..sheesh. oh well I need to remove her from my favorite singer list until the elections are over. I’m crazy
David Axelrod – the master of astroturfing.
Whoopi is hardly a “star” anymore. She’s bitter and fits in perfectly with the ‘I have no regrets’ abortion crowd (has bragged about having several abortions).
Eduardo is NOT a no name.
Jamie, are you leaving? :(
Jamie,
I am excited for you!! I wanna go!!
Sarah Palin was in my home state last night — in Omaha anyway. She had a crowd of over 2000 people present. Pretty sweet. Have fun!
shakira isn’t even a citizen! >_
speaking of people who are not even citizens trying to influence the vote….i went to a new kids on the block concert this weekend (even better when you are thirty!) and natasha bedingfield was their opener. she wore a rock the vote shirt! i think she is british isn;t she????
Yo La,
Shakira…seriously?!! TALENTED?! Are you freaking kidding me?
TALENTED?
Obama supporter? Sure. But TALENTED?!!
aahhhh…
I actually enjoy Shakira’s music, and I’m usually not much of one for that genre.
Plus, she’s hot. And I’m not even gay.
never heard of Shakira. Guess I’m old.
ha ha Erin. I like her. I’m not gay. Will she influence me to vote for Obama. Nah.
shakira is ok, but after “underneath your clothes”, i kinda figured she’s not that bright, so i’m not surprised.
Eh, I’m just not into the hip-shaking jirating sort of music of Shakira. Plus, to me it sounds like she’s trying to sing and gargle water at the same time. lol.
My Lethbridge flag didn’t make the cut this time. That’s all that really matters, honestly. :)
Thanks to Shakira I learned the word “el culo” in my Spanish class. Es bueno.
Shakira is for illegal aliens and their ilk.
“Ilk?”
Shakira has an IQ of 150 or 160, speaks five languages, and that girl knows how to boogie.
Leah- “culo” heh heh heh.
Obama is a socialist, probably a capital “S” socialist. Problem is though because he is an unknown (past is prologue) we don’t really know how much of a socialist he is. So we are left with either accepting assurances from Dems and leftists that he is OK or we have to draw conclusions from what little we do know about him. And what we do know is not very flattering.
His association with ACORN and Saul Alinsky community organizing tactics raise major concerns. It is one thing to have a strong history of middle of the road politics with an occasional foray into fringe movements, but an altogether entirely different thing to have been immersed in far left wing thinking and activism from the beginning. This is Barack’s political genesis, and it probably goes a long way towards explaining his designation as the Senate’s most liberal member.
So how does William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright fit into this? From what we know about these two they don’t exactly fit into the mode of mainstream American politics. But yet, these are the types that Obama has been hanging with for a long time. This is a problem. One of them hated amerika so much during the 1960’s he took to bombing government facilities. The other’s opinion of our country was such that he went to the pulpit and cried out “God damn America.” But there is no denying that Obama associated with these fine folks. He also exercised similar “bone headed” (his words) judgment in getting a sweetheart real estate deal on his current residence from one of his biggest supporters, the political power broker (and now convicted felon) Tony Rezko.
The job of the presidency is far too important to be entrusted to someone that not only do we know little about, but what little we do know gives us no reason to be confident that he has the requisite political temperament and experience for the hugely important responsibilities he would be assuming.
at least Obama doesn’t act erratic in a crisis.
Seriously, Jerry, nice job with the republican talking points. As Americans get to know Obama, however, these stupid attacks generally fall flat.
hal,
If you have a chance, read the link I posted @ 11:24.
Hal, An excerpt. Sound familiar?
In the Alinsky model, “organizing” is a euphemism for “revolution”—a wholesale revolution whose ultimate objective is the systematic acquisition of power by a purportedly oppressed segment of the population, and the radical transformation of America’s social and economic structure. The goal is to foment enough public discontent, moral confusion, and outright chaos to spark the social upheaval that Marx, Engels, and Lenin predicted—a revolution whose foot soldiers view the status quo as fatally flawed and wholly unworthy of salvation. Thus, the theory goes, the people will settle for nothing less than that status quo’s complete collapse—to be followed by the erection of an entirely new and different system upon its ruins. Toward that end, they will be apt to follow the lead of charismatic radical organizers who project an aura of confidence and vision, and who profess to clearly understand what types of societal “changes” are needed.

Xalisae on Shakira: i kinda figured she’s not that bright
Hey wait a minute! She’s pretty darn smart.
http://tinyurl.com/4h96un
There’s a quiz you can take on Shakira, and I’ll give you one of the answers – it says her IQ is 140.
Elizabeth: Eh, I’m just not into the hip-shaking jirating sort of music of Shakira
Agreed on that, E.
Lean, you’re there in the current poll. You’d have to drive about 1000 kilometers to get to the nearest other vote.

Oh… how in God’s name did I miss that?
Leah, the current (ongoing) one has your flag. If there were 500 or more votes after you in the last one, then you got “erased.”
