After reading the article of the apparent widespread practice of hoarding aborted babies in France (see blog post below), I contended, “There is a maccabre fascination with the human life these self-proclaimed gods have destroyed.”
Another article on the topic states:

The secretary general of Paris hospitals, Jean-Marc Boulanger… said that he did not understand the reason for the practice. “One would tend to think of this kind of situation existing in relation to research,” M. Boulanger said. “But research is normally organised. Yet we are faced here with a phenomenon that was not organised. There was no reason to preserve these foetuses. We do not understand.”

I think I do. Abortionists are sick. I submit that abortionists and serial killers follow similar psychological pathways. Either that, or hospital workers do not want to deal with the truth about “uterine contents,” aka “products of conception,” aka babies.
It is probably a little of both. Regarding the psyche of abortionists, here is a comparison:
An excerpt from The Biography Channel’s bio of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer states:

He achieved notoriety after his arrest, following the discovery of his victims’ decaying bodies in acid vats in his apartment, including severed heads in his refrigerator and other human body parts around his home, an altar of candles, and human skulls.
