ACORN scandal leads to White House?
I’m sure the ACORN scandal will lead to the White House if investigations aren’t squashed.
First, this backdrop, from the Union News, October 17, 2008:
NPR reports that ACORN’s cofounder, Wade Rathke, also founded SEIU….
ACORN’s biggest union backer, the Service Employees International Union, gave more than $4 million to the community organization and its affiliates from 2006-07, according to Dept. of Labor filings….
Living in IL, I’ve sensed an unholy alliance between the SEIU and Barack Obama for several years. I didn’t realize ACORN was in that mix until recently.
In 2003-4 the SEIU invited me to join forces with it and a Chicago community organizing group to keep Christ Hospital from building another hospital in my suburb. SEIU cared because Christ wasn’t unionized….
I went to meetings at SEIU’s Chicago office. It was during that time I got an idea something odd was up, but there was a lot I didn’t (and still don’t) understand – Alinski, what community organizing really meant, the connection (which there was) to Trinity United Church of Christ. But I didn’t have the wherewithal to find the there there.
Now it turns out ACORN, the SEIU, Obama, and even Blagojevich are all somehow connected. There is a reason why both IL senators – Burris and Durbin – were among the 7 voting to retain funding of ACORN yesterday. I knew it before I scanned the roll call. Many State of IL officials are in bed with the SEIU, even AG Lisa Madigan.
As the pieces start to fall together, read this, from a July 20, 2009, report on ACORN by the US House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform:
The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now has repeatedly and deliberately engaged in systemic fraud. Both structurally and operationally, ACORN hides behind a paper wall of nonprofit corporate protections to conceal a criminal conspiracy on the part of its directors, to launder federal money in order to pursue a partisan political agenda and to manipulate the American electorate….
Committee investigators have unearthed documentation that ACORN and its affiliates conducted meticulous research that fed aggressive campaign initiatives designed to elect Democratic candidates in targeted races. ACORN forged both formal and informal connections with former IL Gov. Rod Blagojevich, OH Sen. Sherrod Brown and President Barack Obama, among others.…
In other documents, ACORN affiliates take credit for the election of… Blagojevich. In the 2006 year-end report of ACORN affiliate SEIU, Local 880, efforts to elect Blagojevich and advance partisan political agendas are called “flawless.”…
Moreover, documents provided by former ACORN employees and contained in this report demonstrate the degree to which ACORN and ACORN affiliates organized to elect President Barack Obama in 2008….

I just heard Breitbart tv’s Scott Baker on Glenn Beck’s radio show and the Chicago ties between Valerie Jarrett’s mother & Bill Ayers’ father (education program) and Valerie’s ex-husband and Obama’s mentor, communist Frank Marshall Davis, maybe the genesis of why Obama arrived in Chicago. My friend Sarah keeps telling me that she thinks that they’re the only reason that Barack Obama was elected, and while I doubt that, I would very much like to know what ACORN is…

In a nutshell (pun intended)ACORN stands for Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now. They basically set up shop in low socio-economic status areas to assist low-income folks to obtain housing loans and related issues. They’re supposed to be for the little guy, you see, except for minor girls shipped in from El Salvador.
Obama worked with them, represented them in court at one time, and pledged to have them help shape his agenda should he become president.

Don’t forget voter registration, Carder. That’s why several ACORN employees are being investigated for/charged with voter fraud in a few states.
Apparently, someone has something against Mickey Mouse being allowed to vote.
Illinois politics—what can you say? Obama thrived as a relative unknown in this milieu of corruption and incestuous mix of power brokers, unions, media, and assorted backroom players while being groomed for bigger things.
ACORN, like Obama, is now in the big time. It is harder to conceal one’s real motivations and workings when under the national microscope. It is heartening that the critical House committee report which Jill cites here actually surfaced. And the fact that it did surface may reveal a crack in rank and file democratic support for this most radical of presidents and his corrupt ACORN supporters.

It is pretty sick that the ACORN group hasn’t been investigated for the voter fraud that took place and Obama may have been frauduently elected,now to top it off we are at this point…but what ever happened to the fraud voter registration investigation?? Obama and ACORN(APORN-my new name for them) all need to go! Corruptocrats have taken over the country, not to mention the corrupt Senators in Congress who voted against defunding ACORN& support Obama’s radical agenda.
My fearless predicton: This situation will result in exposing the lack of moral courage of those in the Justice Department whose obligation it is to investigate this tangled mess, to whomever it leads. They will be shown to be cravenly cowards.

Gene, Try re-reading the posting by Jill. ACORN and SEIU were founded by the same guy. — Hello? Barack Obama represented ACORN in court cases against them; he was a “Community Organizer” working with ACORN and his vaunted law professorship was teaching about community organizing. How many links do you need? He’s as dirty as the group is and always has been.
Folks, call Lisa Madigan’s office (217-782-1090) and ask when they are going to start investigating ACORN and its criminal activities here in Illinois. Let’s keep the pressure on.
