not all of us wanna pop out babies thanks..last time i checked it was MY body and we lived in america where it was our OWN choice. you wanna have a million babies? be my guest, because its no one else’s decision but yours.
The term pro-choice avoids talking about what it is you are choosing. So….what are you in favor of choosing, elle?
Hmm, interesting. I don’t believe this quote said anything whatsoever about having “a million” or even a certain number of children.
Funny how elle’s comment perfectly illustrates the “me-first” mentality, huh?

I’m all for choosing whether or not to have kids…prior to the part where the kid actually exists. Once that child is conceived, it’s not about your choice anymore.
But if she’s talking about before that point, then I agree with Elle, actually. Not everyone wants children. And that’s okay.
I’d agree to the point where Katie says “most women”…if many women feel that way, then say many. But I’d hazard a guess that saying “most” is projecting. I’m very happy for women who find motherhood to be the thing that fulfills them, but comments like that make women such as myself feel like there’s something wrong with us. It’s not “most”, and I’d like to see numbers backing that up instead of the projections of a person who believes motherhood to be the be-all end-all of womanhood. I definitely agree that it’s hugely important and wonderful for some women (even many women), but others just don’t have those same sentiments. And there’s nothing wrong with that. It is possible to be anti-abortion without wanting to produce children yourself. :)

Even though she said “most she knows”, to me, it’s still like she was trying to represent the whole of women based on her observations. The whole previous paragraph serves to outline why her next paragraph should hold true. I personally look forward to my “joyless corporate climb”, with or without children involved. Lol.
Most women she knows want to be moms.
Thinking of my circle of friends here….
Most women I know already are moms. Most women I know want more children. Most women I know quit their corporate jobs and stay home to raise their children.
