Stanek Sunday Word: “Love your neighbor as yourself”

Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other […]

Stanek Sunday Word: “The LORD formed me in the womb to be his servant”

The LORD formed me in the womb to be his servant in order to bring back his people, to bring back the scattered people of Israel. The Lord gives me honor; he is the source of my strength. ~ Isaiah 49:5, God’s Word and Good News translations

Stanek Sunday Word: “We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord”

My people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth with a parable; I will teach you lessons from the past – things we have heard and known, things our ancestors have told us. We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation […]

Stanek Mother’s Day quote: “May you live to see your children’s children”

Blessed are all who fear the Lord      and live his way. You will certainly eat what your own      hands have provided. Blessings to you! May things go well for you! Your wife will be like a fruitful vine      inside your home. Your children will be like young olive      trees around your table. This is how […]

  • In Israel, a woman has been arrested after a home birth resulted in a dead child. An autopsy is being done to determine whether the child was stillborn, as the mother claims.
  • In an interview with Sarah Kliff, Tammi Kromenaker, the operator of the only abortion clinic in North Dakota, notes that there is room for only one abortion clinic in the state:

SK: How long have you been the only abortion clinic in North Dakota?

TK: Since February 2001. Just to be clear, we’re not like Mississippi where other clinics have been legislated out of existence. This population is small, and it can only support one clinic. There was one that opened in 1991 and closed in 2001. There were two clinics for about two and a half years, but Fargo can’t support more than one clinic.
