New Stanek column on WND: “Why Jesus Christ would not vote for Barack Obama”
In February 2004, U.S. Senate candidate Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle, sent a fund-raising letter with the “alarming news” that “right-wing politicians” had passed a law stopping doctors from stabbing half-born babies in the neck with scissors, suctioning out their brains and crushing their skulls.
Michelle called partial-birth abortion “a legitimate medical procedure,” and wouldn’t supporters please pay $150 to attend a luncheon for her husband, who would fight against “cynical ploy[s]” to stop it?
But that’s not why Obama’s opponent Alan Keyes said Jesus Christ wouldn’t vote for him.
Obama recalled Keyes’ statement in a recent USA Today opinion piece but omitted his reasoning.
I know his reasoning, because I was there….

It truly sickens me to think that Obama got away and still gets away with so much deceit.
My wife and I worked very hard on the Keyes 2004 IL Senate Campaign.
Our comfort is knowing that our reward is in pleasing God. No matter the results we see on earth, we will continue in well doing.
Thanks for your stand for babies and against evil men like Obama.
Obama’s response was a complete denial of his faith at the same time as was affirming it–a skill honed to perfection by politicians.
Thank you for bringing such a bright light to the truth.
“But in Illinois, the state version of BAIPA repeatedly failed, thanks in large part to then-state Sen. Barack Obama. It only passed in 2005, after Obama left.”
The Illinois state version of BAIPA was very different from the federal version in significant ways. It was far more broader and overreaching than the federal statute. And it was those differences that troubled Obama.
The 2005 Illinois version of BAIPA remedied those problems, which is why it passed.
I suspect you know this, but you’ve glossed over these rather simple facts in order to mislead your readers that Obama engages in “fanatical support” for abortion. Shame on you for engaging in such blatent deception, especially in an article in which you claim to side with Jesus Christ.
I think Obama is wonderful, and probably president in 2012.
If god wanted to save “babies” I think he could, don’t you?
I’m sure god is happy the way things are.
I am a recovering pro-choicer. And just to respond to hotmail… Yes God in his infinite soverignity could save babies. He could also strike you dead any second. And if you think God is happy the way things are just remember the story of Noah and the Flood… the world sure was happy and they thought they were blessed! Shalom
Ken, 11:46a, said, “The Illinois state version of BAIPA was very different from the federal version in significant ways. It was far more broader and overreaching than the federal statute. And it was those differences that troubled Obama.”
Really, Ken? VERY DIFFERENT? SIGNIFICANT WAYS? FAR MORE BROADER? OVERREACHING?
Show me where, Ken. Show me what problem Obama could possibly have had with this:
Sec. 1.36. Born-alive infant.
(a) In determining the meaning of any statute or of any rule, regulation, or interpretation of the various administrative agencies of this State, the words “person”, “human being”, “child”, and “individual” include every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development.
(b) As used in this Section, the term “born alive”, with respect to a member of the species homo sapiens, means the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of that member, at any stage of development, who after that expulsion or extraction breathes or has a beating heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles, regardless of whether the umbilical cord has been cut and regardless of whether the expulsion or extraction occurs as a result of natural or induced labor, cesarean section, or induced abortion.
(c) A live child born as a result of an abortion shall be fully recognized as a human person and accorded immediate protection under the law.
Furthermore, Ken, here is the World Health Organization definition of “live birth,” 10th Rev., 1993:
“Live birth is the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of conception, irrespective of the duration of the pregnancy, which, after such separation, breathes or shows any other evidence of life, such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles, whether or not the umbilical cord has been cut or the placenta is attached; each product of such a birth is considered liveborn.”
What is overreaching about any of this, Ken?
Jill,
I was a Keyes supporter also in ’04. I brought up the same points in your article to everyone I knew who planned on voting for Obama. These Obama supporters either did not believe me or just did not care. I don’t see how Obama gets away with so much. I don’t see why black people would vote for a man who supports the killing of so many people in their own race. See KlanParenthood.com for more information.

Hello
It truly sickens me to think that Obama got away and still gets away with so much deceit.
Alan keyes would have been a much better candidate for chicago
Gods blessings
Tammy and Anthony Brotton
oregon residents
But I have a friend who volunteers for the chiago gop .
Good Cartoon that you put up with world net daily Article..it is sad that chicagonians saw him as an outsider running in the race and not as a chicagonian that lived their Just because Alan keyes was not born in chicago does not make him a good candidate for the position he would have been the best candidate that cared about chicago.
Barack Obama is truly a tragedy. For a man so gifted with common sense and intelligence to sell his soul to the Marxist vision of the Democratic Party is disappointing. Evidently, popularity is more important to Obama than being right and unfortunately Mr. Obama has allowed the far-left wing of the Democratic Party to shape his world view.
Mr. Obama needs to understand that abortion chiefly targets his own people who undergo a higher percentage of abortions than whites. Mr. Obama also needs to understand that the moral and spiritual bankruptcy that is so prevalent in America’s black communities can only be stopped by a return to Judeo-Christian ethics rather than more abortions.
It’s obvious that Obama has become the Democratic Party’s solution to try to stem the tide of “black-flight” from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party. His recent sophistry that encouraged Democrats to respect religious values was hollow and phony. Everyone knows that religious values are anathema to the Democratic Party and Obama’s recent speech was just a political ploy to attract votes for his party.
One can only hope that Obama will wake up and leave that wretched party before he is ruined by it. He has a chance to accomplish great things for his people who haven’t had a strong voice or leader since Dr. King. But if he chooses to remain in the Democratic Party, he’ll become just another sellout for money and fame as “Rev” Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have become. I don’t know if Jesus would vote for Barack, but I’d hope that Mr. Obama would rather vote for Jesus than for Karl Marx.
In Allan Keyes I thought there was hope for 21st century conservatism in Illinois. He was correct on the issues but incorrect on the way he ran his campaign. It was as if he wanted to lose. He came against Vice President Chaney’s daughter for her lesbianism. Now what in the world did that have to do with running for the senate in Illinois? I don’t think that commenting on who Jesus would vote for was helpful either. Jesus is not a voter in Illinois! Because he used the republican nomination for the U.S, Senate in Illinois as a place to grind all manner of axes, we have Mr. Obama. Hopefully we are able to find a candidate to replace Senator Durbin who is both correct on the issues and a smart politician, like President Bush. God Bless, Big Dave.
David,
Dr. Keyes places spreading God’s Word above how to run a political campaign. We need more politicians like him who have good moral values. He believes in sticking up for God’s values regardless of the outcome at the polls. We all will be judged someday by God. I would not mind being in Dr. Keyes shoes when it comes to Judgement Day.
By the way, the remark Dr. Keyes made about Vice President Cheney’s daughter was just the truth. Dr. Keyes was trapped in an interview during the Republican convention by a couple of homosexual activists. Keyes did great in the interview and the two in the interview learned many things during the discussion. You can listen to it here…

Too bad Alan Keyes couldn’t have won the race over obama, than we would not have to have obama later on to be vp to Billary clinton for president for 2008 or worse obama for president and clark vp
That combination for any type of presidency is really bad….and scary

Good Article on obama in WND.
Also want to mention about this book JUST RELEASED! The most dangerous time in any child’s life is his or her first nine months. That’s because abortion takes one out of every four children conceived in America, making the route from womb to tomb very short for millions of unborn boys and girls. “Struggling for Life” provides a shocking glimpse into how your tax dollars and twisted biomedical research are targeting the unborn. Written by Dr. Kelly Hollowell, WND contributor and founder of Science Ministries, Inc., this riveting, sometimes personal account details the gushing flow of federal dollars into the coffers of America’s leading abortion performer.
It doesn’t help that American taxpayers underwrite the nation’s leading abortion performer, Planned Parenthood, which took in $265 million in government grants and contracts in 2003-2004 and killed 244,628 unborn children. Now taxpayers are being asked to fund medical research that kills five- to seven-day-old humans in order to harvest their stem cells. We are in an historic struggle to protect life from those who seek to profit from the unborn.
“Struggling for Life” also scrutinizes the inflated claims of those in the scientific community who want taxpayers to pay for research that destroys human embryos. Dr. Hollowell, a Senior Bioethics Strategist at the Center for Reclaiming America for Christ, also lays out an innovative four-step strategy to restore legal protection to unborn children.
