Dr. Dobson gala; anxiety
Last night my daughter Daena and I attended a gala honoring Dr. James Dobson, hosted by FRC. Click on the image below to view a CitizenLink.com 4-minute synopsis of Day 2 of the FRC Washington Briefing and Dobson gala. Also watch a video clip of Day 1 at this link:

I took notes of Dobson’s speech:
I sense an ominous feeling in the air…. storm clouds on the horizon….
There is a possibility the far, far left is going to capture the triple crown in 2008….
If that were to happen the Supreme Court would quickly change and set the direction for the next 30 years. We need to go back and work and pray and get involved because we can’t let that happen….
The total demolition of the federal government, which may be matched by the state houses of government, would be catastrophic….
There is something new. There are now radical billionaires deeply committed….
All that has created anxiety… a great deal of anxiety….
It has caused some to say we need to set aside our moral principles….
We must not give up now. We must stay focused. Some people are talking aobut the lesser of two evils. The only problem with that is you’re still choosing an evil.
If 150 years ago you had a fiscal conservative and liberal running against one another for president but both were pro-slavery, would you have voted for either of them? I wouldn’t. We will not turn our backs on 45 million children whose blood calls out to us….
I feel the intensity of the Lord and what He feels about the little babies in the womb….
This anxiety I talked about, what to do if you’re not given a choice…. What will I do if I do not have a choice?
The Republican Party has frustrated me a lot in the last few years. The pro-life/pro-family movement is very much like a mistress to the Republican Party. They want to “talk” to us in the afternoon, so to speak, but they want us if we meet on the street to act like we don’t know them.
We had the triple crown for six years and the Republican Party sat there and did almost nothing….
[But] 3rd parties don’t work…. [although] do you get the feeling the media is goading us to start a 3rd party?…
I’m tellingyou we’re notin the general election yet. We’re in a primary….
There are so many reasons for optimism. We are winning the battle for the hearts and minds of the people…. [mentions recent abortion polls]
Stay the course. Keep your confidence. The election is a year away. The Democrats are not a shoe in, no matter what you’re hearing in the media….
The big X Factor in this situation is prayer. Prayer makes a difference. I ask you to mobilize. Let’s put our arm around each other. Let’s not criticize each other. I ask you to pray for me because I am an ordinary man….

The man has guts! I’ll say that for him.

Actually, now that I think of it, maybe they should play that bit more often…even up the race. You know 2 “women” running for pres.
Except I think Hillary is really a man.
MK;
that just totally gain him some respect in my books. Takes a real man to be comfortable dressed like a woman.
Dodson’s right. 08 is going to be a blow out for the rational left.
I think Dobson is attempting to feather his own nest while marginalizing himself and removing most of the political significance he has. His choice.
Except I think Hillary is really a man.
Posted by: mk at October 21, 2007 8:46 AM******************************** MK, I agree. She sure does look like one.
Nice…name calling and ugly insults. If you don’t like her politics fine, but why do you have to say “she sure does look like a man?”
I’m no Hillary fan, but I don’t care at all what she looks like.
Hal, Ah, get over it. She’s the brunt of a lot of late night talk show jokes too. Perhaps you should write to Leno, Conan, and Letterman if it upsets you that much.
I wasn’t referring to her looks. Just her attitude.
And as for the “Mayor”, well, that shade of lavender is perfect for him.
Just pointing out the irony of the male candidate wearing a purple dress and the female candidate being extremely masculine.

She’s hardly masculine.
She’s nurtured a successful child who adores her, and found forgiveness for that charming – but flawed – man.
Her work on behalf of children is awe-inspiring, and her latest work for the rights of our returning vets literally made me tear up.
Hillary is shaving her facial hair. That’s what’s throwing you off. Hal, you are such a bastion of tolerance. I gotta hand it to you. Abort 2 of your children, and then take up for Hillary. You are sooooo sweet!!
Heather, you seem much more frustrated or angry lately. Upcoming Democratic control of the White House getting you down? Legal abortion here to stay?
I don’t care for Hillary, but she’d be a fair President. She’s probably 4th or 5th on my list of favorites (from the current field). Nice how any disagreement can be settled by simply pointing out our two abortions. If you’re going to discount every opinion by someone who’s had an abortion, you’ll have to exclude 40 million of your fellow American women and another 40 million husbands and boyfriends.
I have nothing against stupid humor, and if you think you’re being clever saying Hillary looks like a man, go for it. tee hee hee, and all that. And Heather, you’re no Leno, Conan, or Letterman. They’re funny and usually have some point to their humor.
Hal, I really wasn’t trying to be funny. I was voicing my true opinion. You aren’t funny either.
Hal, I’ll admit it. The upcoming elections are getting me down. It is a long way off so you never know. I’ll admit something else- it doesn’t look good for us.
Hal, I’m not angry. I’m really just tired of playing nicey nice with some of you. Especially when you come here to support abortion, yet you couldn’t even manage to watch an abortion video. Keep on talking the talk. That’s all it is with you. I maintain that only cowardly men love abortion.
Hal, thanks for helping me to prove my case.
Heather, what’s the problem with playing nicey nice? You have your opinions, we have ours.
Hal, you’re a liar in nicey speak.
