Abortionist killer pleads “not guilty” of manslaughter
Laura Smith’s mom Eileen forwarded this video of yesterday’s court proceedings where a Cape Cod DA charged Laura’s abortionist Rapin Osathanondh with manslaughter for “willful, reckless conduct,” according to NECM.com, leading to her death:

In a way, Osathanondh does have a legitimate beef at being prosecuted, considering the quackery other abortionists have gotten away with.
Staff at the Center for Reproductive and Sexual Health failed to resuscitate K.B. promptly. After K.B.’s death, health inspectors noted that CRASH “did not employ proper monitoring equipment or procedures,” “had no working EKG machine,” and didn’t have a cardiac defibrillator. They noted that no one on staff was qualified to perform CPR. No one on staff was qualified to administer anesthesia, and they did not use proper procedures or equipment. Anesthesia was administered “by eye,” with no means of accurately measuring the dose. Dosage was estimated to be twice that recommended in the procedure manual. And the patient was charted as “pink, alert, responsive” at a time when she was in full cardio-respiratory arrest — i.e. effectively dead. No charges were filed against anybody responsible for this fatal debacle.
The medical board found egregious carelessness in the death of Debra Gray. The records don’t indicate who initiated IV Brevitol for anesthesia, nor do they document the dosage or concentration, nor Debra’s weight or the amount of fluid given. There was also no record of a physical exam or any exam to determine if Debra was an appropriate candidate for this type of anesthesia. The abortionist, Gideon Kioko, indicated that the nurse and other staff expected the drug to induce “twilight sleep” rather than general anesthesia. There was no anesthesiologist on duty, and no physician supervising the administration of anesthesia medication. Nobody charted Debra’s vitals during the abortion. Three minutes into the abortion Kioko noticed that Debra was in respiratory distress but spent five more minutes completing the abortion before calling anybody in to address the life-threatening problem. No charges were filed.
There were four doctors on the premises but none of them performed CPR on Diane Watson when she stopped breathing during her abortion. And the abortion was technically illegal in the first place, since at the time Illinois law required abortions past 12 weeks be performed in a hospital. No charges were filed.
Scott Barrett routinely overdosed his abortion patients on Lidocaine, a local anesthetic, in order to make them lose consciousness for their abortions. Sometimes they’d stop breathing and Barrett and his staff would resuscitate them. But they couldn’t resuscitate Stacy Ruckman. Her serum level, as tested in blood drawn 2 hour after the abortion, was 8.1 ug/ml, or more than five times the therapeutic level of 1.5 ug/ml. An expert who testified later estimated that, based on how fast the body metabolizes Lidocaine, the amount in her system at the time of the abortion could have been as high as 16 ug/ml, over ten times the therapeutic dose. No charges were filed.
So, nationwide the pattern has tended to be that performing abortions exempts you from prosecution when you kill a patient through depraved indifference. And I would bet that the only reason
Osathanondh is being prosecuted is that her mom raised a stink. Yeah, the guy was criminally careless with Laura’s life. And it’s great that he’s being held accountable. But I’d not expect this to start a trend.
Why did this idioso turn in his medical license and then plead not guilty? Not gettn’ it.
OK, now I get it. Just read Steve’s article. The state medical board ordered him to cease practicing due to the fact they know he is guilty, but then his scum bag attorney tells him to plead not guilty. Just doing his job as scum bag attorneys.
This guy should get more than manslaughter. He was making money off of this woman and thousands like her. He cut costs by not having proper personnel on staff to assist with his “procedures” so he could afford that extra week in Barbados.
Nice. How sick.

I’m not a lawyer, but I watch a lot of Law and Order. :)
I believe the doctor can be charged in a criminal court as well as a civil court. (OJ was tried in both.) Osathanondh is apparently up for manslaughter, a criminal charge, and it would be typical if he wanted the case to go to trial to plead “not guilty”. I also believe the surrendering of his medical license is a different matter altogether and if he were to be charged with malpractice that would be in a civil court. Maybe a lawyer could confirm that…
Being in the woods does funny things to your mind.
Yellowstone is such an amazing place and makes you realize how people really screw things up.
Heaven is looking real good right now. Yellowstone is about as close as one can physically get to heaven.
What amazes me though is how few of the people up here give credit to where credit is due: It’s God that made it all….not billions of years of evolution…..it’s all too perfect. Actually, tree huggers make me pretty ill. They love nature and all of creation and don’t spend a minute thinking of the One who created it all. And for one reason,…..to let the world know that He lives.
So far I’ve seen two grizzlies, four black bears, a moose, tons of elk and bison, deer, antelope, trout, etc., etc.
I want to live here.
Oh, by the way, tank this baby killer.
Dear Eileen,
You are an amazing woman. You tirelessly fight for justice for your daughter Laura and for your grandbaby. Please know that there are so many praying for you. Me included. :)
I never once saw a grizzly when I visited Yellowstone. I saw a ton of bison and a moose. I think I see more elk in and around Rocky Mountain NP. Its the big horn sheep in Rocky Mountain NP I’ve never really seen.
And Old Faithful in Yellowstone isn’t as “Faithful” as it used to be because of what we’ve done to the environment.
Hisman, you’ll be glad to know that my 6 1/2 year old niece knows WHO made the mountains. :)
Hisman,
So far I’ve seen two grizzlies,
They didn’t stand a chance…lol.
HisMan: How are the crowds at Yosemite? Bearable? (No pun intended.) I hear the summers are very crowded. Glad to hear you’re enjoying yourself!!!

Shhhhh… don’t tell Jess!
wow, neat Hisman! I can’t wait to go there.
