Most in the Evangelical world are familiar with Joni Eareckson Tada’s story. Not sure if she’s so well known in Catholic circles.
Joni was left a teen quadriplegic in 1967 after a diving accident. Her 1976 book, Joni, really impacted me.
Here’s a clip of a great interview Larry King conducted with Joni…

My friend Adam McManus of the KSLR Take A Stand radio show is raising sponsorship for 75 wheelchairs for Joni’s Wheels for the World ministry, which provides wheelchairs to disabled people in third world countries. By refurbishing used wheelchairs, total cost for each is only $150. Adam is only 8 wheelchairs away from his goal.
If you would like to pledge for an entire wheelchair, great. Call 1-888-294-5664, mentioning Adam’s name.
Or if you would like to combine forces with me to sponsor one wheelchair, either email me or leave a comment with the amount you’d like to pledge, which is tax deductible. I’ll discuss arrangements with you offline.
