New poll/Old poll
Barack Obama announced yesterday his VP pick was Joe Biden. This week’s poll question asks:
Who should John McCain pick as his running mate?
I held the previous poll over an extra week because it caught fire with liberals. I figured I’d let it run with the hope they’d learn a thing or 2 by coming to the site. When I closed the poll this morning there were 9,513 responses!…

Bear in mind only the last 500 votes show as flags on the map. Many votes came from overseas:

As always, make comments to either this or last week’s poll here, not on the Vizu website.
There’s also another interesting poll ongoing at AOL:

For now it’s Romney until someone can give more info on Pawlenty and the rest.
I say huckabee, then the Obama/Biden ticket is a shoe in.
On AOL’s poll – isn’t the OBVIOUS answer YES? Obama voted to keep the loophole in the Illinois Abortion Law which would allow the abortionist final say in the “viability” assessment of the (pre-) born baby; therefore eliminating the presence of a second physician to care for the baby in case of a live birth.
Allowing a born baby to die for the sole reason of following through on an abortion is infanticide. Obama protected this practice.
A clarification of my comment @ 1:33
On AOL’s poll – isn’t the OBVIOUS answer YES?
Obama voted to keep the loophole in the Illinois Abortion Law which would allow the abortionist final say in the “viability” assessment of the (pre-born) baby. If the baby had been deemed “non-viable before the abortion, the need for the presence of a second physician to care for the baby in case of a live birth would be deemed unnecessary.
Allowing a born baby to die for the sole reason of following through on an abortion is infanticide. Obama protected this practice.
I think McCain should choose Brownback. But, he’s not on your list.
I agree with Daja.
McCain/Brownback!
The AOL poll didn’t have a “don’t care” option.
AOL polls are notorious for being the most unreliable of all.
That said, I did see the numbers on Jill’s poll giving Obama an “A” decline slightly during the past week.
On grading McCain and Obama, I think there’s going to be many people who will give one an “A” and the other an “F” just by knee-jerk reaction or general political party affiliation principles.

Therefore, I suggest that the middle ratings are where the truth lies – in the B’s, C’s and D’s. Many of the more thoughtful people will give a B, C, or D even though they wholeheartedly support that candidate.
Can we separate our favoritism toward one candidate or the other enough to dispassionately grade them on their campaigns?
I’d say it’s hard to give an “A” or “F” in the first place – seems there’s always quite a bit that could be worse, and that could have been done better.

Of the B’s, C’s and D’s, 72% rated McCain a “D” while Obama got a “B” from 93%.
The AOL poll didn’t have a “don’t care” option.
Does it need one? Those who don’t care don’t vote.
Mike Huckabee was Governor of Arkansas for over 10 years. He is undoubtedly John McCain’s best VP pick!
Survey USA took a series of polls to determine the VP candidate (out of Huckabee, Lieberman, Pawlenty, and Romney) who would help John McCain the most.
They took polls in PA, NM, VA, CA, OH, IA, KS, WI, NE, OR, NY, MA, MN, AL, KY, and MO. Of these, PA, NM, VA, OH, IA, OR, MN, and MO are generally considered to be possible battleground states in November.
In almost every case, Governor Mike Huckabee did best. He even had a slight lead in Massachusetts where Romney was once Governor!
Rasmussen recently took a similar poll. They asked those polled whether they had, in general, a favorable or unfavorable opinion of the following VP candidates: Crist, Huckabee, Jindal, Lieberman, Palin, and Romney.
Huckabee had the highest favorability and net favorability rating. The net was +8% compared to -6% for Romney.

To Dan:
Sir, I believe you meant to say “shoo-in”, not “shoe-in”.

By the way, according to the Survey USA polls I mentioned in a previous post, the exact opposite is true. Out of those mentioned in the polls – Huckabee, Lieberman, Pawlenty, and Romney – Huckabee helped McCain most.
