Special Olympics champ challenges Obama to bowling duel
This one’s personal. I had a child in special rec bowling, and my 2 others were allowed to bowl in this special league – every Monday afternoon when they were growing up, followed by kiddie cocktails with their Dad, who picked them up after work.
You wouldn’t believe how well some of these truly special people can bowl, including my own! Obama is an ass, truly.
From TMZ,com, March 20…
Kolan McConiughey, a Special Olympics competitor who has bowled three perfect 300 games, tells TMZ that the Prez has to score a lot higher than 129 to beat him. Kolan says he bowls an average of 266.
Kolan – who works at a grocery store in Ann Arbor, MI – said he’d love to go to the White House to beat Barack on his own lane. Kolan said, “He’s cool, but he can’t beat me.”
We posed the challenge to the White House. They said “no comment.”
Here’s a profile of Kolan…
Meanwhile, Sarah Palin had some words to say about Obama following his diss, according to Us magazine.
[HT: Joe Carter, moderator Chris, and First Things for Kolan profile; proofreader Laura Loo for Palin comment]

It was a stupid thing to say for sure, but I don’t think he meant any malice by it, no more than former president Bush meant the dumb things he said. Get over it.
Sarah Palin waited until twenty hours after Obama apologized, and then did not mention his apology.
There is a large rally in Anchorage this morning against Palin for her rejection of 74 million in stimulus funds for special needs kids and 170 million for education. She is all in favor of special needs kids unless it means spending money on them. What a hypocrite!
Leah,
B.O. says offensive things — not “dumb” things. He is intent on bringing our country down by his disregard for the sanctity of human life, destroying our economy, making our country vulnerable to terrorist strikes, etc. He is a sociopath.
Another ‘above my paygrade moment’ for PBHO.
PBHO reminded us again during the Tonight show foray into uncharted territory that quote: “I am the president. I am responsible for what happens in my administration.”
To be responsible, you have to be accountable. To proclaim yourself the boss and then to refuse accountablity is by definition ‘irresponsible’.
PBHO’s ‘chickens’ are coming home to roost. He better start tendin’ to them or the foxes has put in charge of the hen coop are going to consume political capital.

Obama White House Bars Press From Press Award Ceremony
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/03/obama-newspaper.html
This achievement and the overall promise of his historic administration caused the National Newspaper Publishers Assn. to name him “Newsmaker of the Year.”
The president is to receive the award from the federation of black community newspapers in a White House ceremony this afternoon.
The Obama White House has closed the press award ceremony to the press.
From the president’s official schedule:
“Later in the afternoon, the President and the First Lady will attend a reception with the National Newspaper Publisher Association in the State Dining Room, where they will be presented the Newsmaker of the Year award. This event is closed press.”

Hope, change and transparency we can believe in!?!

You have to laugh at the ‘oxymoronicitiness’ of closing an award ceremony by the ‘black press’ to the ‘press’.
I have heard of ‘yellow journalism’, but what is ‘black press’?

@TrigPalinforPresident: first of all your moniker is just plain MEAN.
Secondly, if Trig was President I’m sure the first thing he would do is get rid of Roe and “choice”.
And that would be the biggest blessing of the century.
Wow, I’m actually quite proud of Sarah Palin. I don’t think that Obama’s joke was meant in offense, just lack of thought. She did say, though, that she had hopes that it was an error. That’s very classy of her. She could have used that moment in the media to blast him quite heavily, but instead she made it about the wonderful athletes of the Special Olympics and her hopes for Obama.
I don’t agree with everything in her politics, but I certainly like her as a person. I could hang out with her. :). My friend Katie adores her and wants her to run for president.
My idea how to resolve this:
How about a bowl off between Obama and Kolan at the biggest bowling alley in Ann Arbor,$250 a ticket, plus a $100 side bet (my money is on Kolan), all proceeds to Special Olympics?
We posed the challenge to the White House. They said “no comment.”
Can’t be easy to find a positive spin when the agenda is to make it easier to abort and euthanize the disabled.
I think Obama should have Kolan over for some bowling. What a nice way to defuse the situation and have fun at the same time.
Yeah, Obama’s comment wasn’t too politically correct, definitely a bit of an ass for making it.
Reminds me of other stupid comments people have made…in fact, wasn’t it you who suggested that people in China eat human fetuses for cosmetic purposes? Guess we’re all asses, eh?
Hal,
I agree. It would diffuse the situation as well as be great PR for Special Olympics. I think the “no comment” response was a little cold.
If Obama can find the time for cocktail parties every Wednesday nite, and to appear on Jay Leno, then I would think he could find an hour or two for this very worthy cause.
Sorry, Hal, no fun allowed.
What’s everyone’s worst “foot in mouth” story, anyway? I think my worst might be the following. For about a week, last year at work, I’d been joking with my co-workers about eating dog. It’s a long story, but it had to do with a particularly annoying dog and a Korean co-worker who had once threatened to eat that dog, jokingly saying, “See, eating dogs is good! Some dogs deserve to be eaten.” Whenever someone said something like, “Hm, what are you ordering?” someone else would inevitably respond, “Dog, of course.” etc.
One day, a man who — let’s just say — is very much my superior, returned from a business trip to Vegas. He was out of the loop on the running “dog” joke, since it’s not like it was so funny that it warranted telling “outsiders.” Anyway, on his first day back, he turned to me and said, “Hm, Ally, what do I want for lunch?” And, without thinking, I said, “Dog?”
The problem? He’s ethnically Chinese (though he has lived in the US for his whole life). He turned to face me and said, in a very serious voice, “Are you implying that, because I’m Chinese, I eat dogs? Is that a joke?” MAN was I mortified. I had to do some major back-pedaling. He’d known me for a while by that point — and I explained everything, he believed me, etc — so there were no long-term consequences or bad feelings, but it still makes me cringe just to think about it. As soon as I said it I realized how bad it sounded and I was like, “NOOOOOO!”
Bystander: “There is a large rally in Anchorage this morning against Palin for her rejection of 74 million in stimulus funds for special needs kids and 170 million for education. She is all in favor of special needs kids unless it means spending money on them. What a hypocrite!”
— except, of course, that she INCREASED funding for the Special Olympics, which rather blows your argument out of the water.
Tony,
Speaking of all of us being asses, I recall when it was the PC side, including their media lapdogs and Hollywood celebs, who were howling about the alleged illegal abortion death of an Indiana teenager several years ago. This was alleged to have occured because of parental consent laws.
Of course it didn’t matter that no medical evidence existed to support the claim or that no evidence was presented to support it, that the best friend and confidante of the pregnant teenager had arranged a legal abortion for her, at her request, after her alleged “illegal abortion” had supposedly taken place, or that medical experts reviewing the autopsy report referred to the claim of an illegal abortion as “this incredible lie”.
The PC side had a martyr to their cause so why spoil it with the facts?
I bet Kolan could answer a few questions that are above PBHO’s pay grade.
I am not suggesting that Kolan is more intelligent than PBHO, just more honest.

Obama may claim to not know with any specificity when life begins, however, he apparently will know with a great deal of specifity when one of these special bowlers kicks his ignorant ass on the lanes.
I just wish an aborted baby could do the same thing in the here and now. Oy yes, and that will eventaully happen when the God of Heaven meets out His justice to Obama and those who ignored the least of these.
And Eileen, you are exactly right. It is evident that Obana is intent on destroying this country.

Bystander, how does it feel to always be proven wrong about everything you say?
Kick his ass, Kolan!
Anyone interested in the truth about Palin’s rejection of stimulus funds for special needs kids can find extensive coverage on the Mudflats.net website and the Anchorage Daily News website.
This is WAY off topic, but I saw a really great sign as I left Kansas yesterday.
It was a sketch of Tiller and a baby and it said “Thou Shalt Not Kill.”
I tried to get a picture, but we were going too fast on the highway.

So let me get this straight. Hisman would like to see Barack Obama bowl with aborted fetuses in Heaven.
hmmmm….
First of all, you have to understand Obama. The guy is a wimp.
Remeber Don Imus’ Comment?
Obama said: “He fed into some of the worst stereotypes that my two young daughters are having to deal with today in America. The notions that as young African-American women — who I hope will be athletes — that that somehow makes them less beautiful or less important. It was a degrading comment. It’s one that I’m not interested in supporting.”
Therefore, laughter and the lack of reaction from Obama’s remarks suggest Americans have a set a rules for race, class and gender: If you touch them you will pay.
And another set of rules for individuals that have a mental or physical disability: If you touch them, it’s ok if you apologize. Oh, and by the way, it’s okay to laugh at the jokes that come at the expense of the latter.
It is just cruel.

Wow, Jasper, how many of Jill’s guidelines did you violate with that post? I don’t like Obama either, but I can think of a thousand ways of saying that without resorting to swearing and making myself look like an out-of-control bigot.
Way to be a responsible moderator….
Jasper’s taking John L’s role.
Nice.
Such anger we see here!
Palin speaks about her rejection of stimulus funds/
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgdhKI-7gBI
Bystander, I can understand that some Alaskans would have liked advance notice about Palin’s rejection of parts of the stimulus package. What you neglect to mention and what many of the articles critical of her fail to mention is that she is calling for public debate regarding the funds left on the table. She’s giving the people and their elected officials a voice. That’s more than Washington did in rushing the vote on the final version of the stimulus package. A good bit of the blame lies in Washington for pulling a rush job and leaving it to the governors to mop up.
Despite thinking Palin was a bad VP choice and will be a bad presidential contender, I do think she might be correct to reject stimulus funds, if indeed Alaska is unable to responsibly continue those programs after federal money dries up. It’s usually really difficult to take something away once it’s already been offered. If she is rejecting the money to pander to the ideologues, well then she is just another politician. But these Palin-comments are a little off-topic aren’t they? I mean, we’re supposed to be throwing stones at Obama for being an insensitive, unfunny ass, aren’t we?
Since I ribbed Jill for her offensive suggestion that Chinese eat fetuses ?they don’t, but some Chinese think Japanese might…it seems like whatever people you don’t like are human-fetus-eating people), I can share one ass comment of mine. I was in a mall with my brother when I commented to him that a nearby mannequin was the ugliest mannequin ever, only to discover the mannequin was no mannequin, as it shifted its eyes in response to my rude comment…the mannequin was actually an old man with a birthmark on his face who was standing quite still. I was horrified and literally half-ran away, I can’t forget that experience.

It’s a rick roll and I finally got hit. It’s a really annoying one too that resized m window and made it jump around and then had a million windows that had to be clicked through after I tried to close the page and then they started all over again and I had to shut down my browzer and it was a big pain.
So to spare everyone else, could a mod please delete it?

It is not all Americans who maintain the double standard about things such as these. It is the lap dog media and the race pimps who have ‘selective outrage’.

Our economy is in the tank and this is what you talk about? Wow. You really must be all set behind the walls of your gated community.
Then what do you consider Obama to be, going on national television and cracking jokes about the situation?
Elisabeth, 12:51am
Great point. Perhaps our fearless leader should spend his time at the WH tending to these problems and setting a good example as to how the taxpayers’ money should not be wasted by unnecessary trips and Wednesday nite cocktail parties.
YLT, Obama and Co have already destroyed the economy.

Wall Street seems to think differently, today at least. DJIA up 500 points today.
Yes, today everyone is celebrating because they are getting to offload toxic assets to the American Taxpayer.
We just doubled down on the future of our country. It was beyond irresponsible and could end in a complete collapse of our entire nation.
For the sake of our country I hope the bet pays off, but I will not celebrate such irresponsible measures that have the capacity to bring about such complete destruction.
After going down how many THOUSANDS of points?
I do believe that it will, thank God, take more than what Obama has done so far to permanently tank the American economy. Unfortunately, I also believe that he and his administration are willing to go as far as it takes to do just that. This is not a side effect, this is his goal… as evidenced by the good giggles he got on 60 Minutes over the whole thing. Even Kroft had to ask him if he was punch drunk.
Lauren, don’t forget, the Fed and Treasury just colluded to print up over 1 TRILLION dollars out of thin air this week… it isn’t backed by ANYTHING. Rampant inflation with devaluation of the dollar… just what the economy needs, right?
Elisabeth, I know! Gold is looking better and better all the time.
I’m not LDS, but I have to say, their planning methods make the most sense. Stock up on FOOD. Non perishable food and water… because even gold isn’t going to get THAT for you.
Speaking of the dollar, there are countries around the world (China for one) who want to switch to a world currency and eliminate the dollar. Now that’s a scary proposition. How much will our dollars be worth then? I’m moving to a small farm in middle America where I can grow my own food and not die hungry.
Obviously Palin is a HUGE threat to the Obum! First the lipstick, now the special needs. I saw him call the average American worker, ” lunch-pail working stiffs”!!! CSPAN interview…can anyone find that?
He’s an arrogant snub with a real weak spot! God save us our adversaries bite into him. He’ll blow.
