Speaking of Mozart, did anyone read about those two fragmentary compositions in the back of one of his sister’s music books? They’re in Mozart’s father’s hand, but have just recently been attributed to Mozart himself, which — if accurate — makes them an important link in his musical evolution.
The time at which they would have been written fits with an anecdote related by a family friend, who remembered a young Mozart composing near-gibberish, which the adults soon realized was actually a technically difficult, slightly awkward, very ambitious work for the piano — something Mozart was not yet capable of writing out by hand, something his father may have written out for him.
Cool stuff.
Mozart? This mind-numbingly bland sentimental blecch? Anybody wants to see a prodigy of true genius, go on youtube and search Aimi Kobayashi. Staggering.
