Exactly how does Obamacare fund abortion?

The folks at Americans United for Life have provided a flow chart to help us understand how abortion will be funded in healthcare reform. Or is it health insurance reform? Someone needs to make up their mind.
[JLS note: AUL’s CEO Charmaine Yoest has an excellent op ed in today’s Washington Times entitled, “Is abortion health care, or is it not?”

Today I posted a piece on the deadly, evil so-called rationale for our nation’s abortion polices at http://bedlamorparnassus.blogspot.com/2009/09/why-to-kill-children.html. I thought you might find it interesting. Thank you for your blog presence standing in the gap for the those who cannot yet stand for themselves.
You know you’re really grasping at straws if you need a flow chart of all things to answer a simple, straightforward question like “How does Obamacare fund abortion?”
Now Ted, no need to be snide. A flow chart is very useful when the authors of a bill are deliberately trying to hide the impact of it’s contents in obscure, arcane and inexact language.
The trick is, they are simply writing up general phrases to be “interpreted later” by some very proabort government officials.
In other words, “Here, sign this blank contract and blank check, and I’ll fill in the details later. You can trust me”.
Yeah, right….

Great links!

sorry, Washington Times, not the WaPo.
Yall, not sure what a “pdf” is. Can someone give me the “gist” of this flowchart?
Carles:
Go to http://www.adobe.com and download acrobat.
This will give you the ability to read a .pdf file from your computer.
A .pdf file is a file that you can read but not alter and protects the publisher of the file.
If someone sent you a word file (.doc) you could alter it and claim it was the original.
I hope you are pro-life.
Carles;
Here’s the link, http://get.adobe.com/reader/?promoid=BUIGO
Charles:
You can view the flowchart on the main page of Stop The Abortion Mandate . com without Adobe, if you prefer.
Ted:
Yes, it’s sad that we need a flowchart. If only the pro-aborts weren’t trying to hide the fact that this is how OUR money will pay for THEIR abortions, it would be much less complex.
Phil and Corrina, thanks very much for your assistance with “pdf.” Very helpful flowchart. We need this crucial information at our fingertips during the health debate which is sure to continue into the Fall.
What do yall think about preventing the spread of the Medicare “Public Option”? I understand that Medicare should be opposed at all costs by Americans fearing a single-payer system. Perhaps Medicare, which is funded by taxpayers, is also linked to Abortion providers.
In some states it is, Carles.
Thanks for the break down. It is a shame that so many people will not ever see this … Obama and bunch are sure sneaky.
So basically if federal dollars go to citizens with the intent of buying private insurance, and that private insurance covers terminations, then Jill and her readers have found a ‘direct’ federal funding of abortion loophole around the Hyde amendment.
Which begs the question…where do Jill and her readers stand on federal employees and abortion? If Uncle Sam signs your paychecks, should you be banned from obtaining pregnancy termination services?
What this boils down to really is that Jill and her gang want private insurance companies to cease covering abortion and birth control. Plain and simple.
Can someone explain something to me? WHY doesn’t the Hyde Amendment prohibit the use of federal funds for abortion in the healthcare bill? Or does it? I emailed my congressman (Wexler) about this issue, and he emailed me back saying that the Hyde amendment applies and that abortion would not be paid from federal funds (rather, that it would be paid by “premiums”). (That last bit sounds like a mingling of money to me.)
