New Stanek WND column, “Pro-life martyr Jim Pouillon”

For 36 years, pro-aborts have engaged in a risky public-relations campaign to detract from their mounting preborn baby body count.
It is pro-lifers, not pro-aborts, who are violent, they have said. While collectively and openly advancing the abortions of over 50 million children, they have held up as evidence 6 unbalanced people calling themselves pro-life, but repudiated by the pro-life community, who have aborted 8 abortion workers.
Totally illogical, but nevertheless, with liberal media and political support, the accusation has stuck.
Not that I’ve ever minded. Having such a reputation has brought me closer than anything else to knowing how Hell’s Angels must feel when walking into a bar, which is kind of cool, even as I laugh at the absurdity of pro-lifers metaphorically dressed in biker leather.
But with the murder of pro-lifer Jim Pouillon on Sept. 11, that particular debate between pro-lifers and pro-aborts changed. Their post-born killing slate is no longer clean. It was only a matter of time.
I hesitate to discuss Jim’s death in purely pragmatic terms. If I were to be killed for my pro-life convictions, I’m sure it would hurt my family to read the ridiculous and cruel comments by pro-aborts as we argued about me on the Internet as if I were just a debate topic, not a real person.
Then again, maybe not….

Jill, there wasn’t time this morning to read your column on Jim’s life and death. I glanced quickly and found myself staying to the end, reading it twice, and swallowing tears. I think you make Jesus and Jim happy. Me, too.
Ah, Beverly, thanks. Now you’re making me cry… :)
Jim epitomized the sort of person the other side likes to pick off.
Succinctly said. The poor, the helpless, the weak; This is exactly who the liberal crowd despises and seeks to destroy. They never “pick on someone their own size”, so to speak.
Excellent rebuttal using Eric Rudolph’s unrelated crimes towards people who were NOT abortion clinic workers, to the insane response from liberals about the unrelated crime before Pouillon, as though it somehow takes away from it.
Their rules are always different when it comes to pro-lifers vs themseles. They’re always victims and we’re always the evil ones, no matter what we say or do. Hypocrites.
Jill:
Jim is an example to me at how to react to pro-aborts.
Yep, I teared up too.
Come quickly Lord Jesus.
Phil, he had a much better attitude than I would have had. “Thank you, Jesus”. Thanking Jesus for the opportunity to suffer for Him. What an example!
What a great life, that’s all I can say. Surely he’s in heaven now.
Bigotry cannot stand to be ‘called out’.
There was an abolitionist newspaper publisher named Lovejoy who was killed by an angry mob because Lovejoy would not stop confronting them with the truth of their bigotry.
These bigots have killed or held the coats of those who do, more than fifty million prenatal children in the United States alone. God only knows how many hundreds of million they have killed world wide.
None is so quick to anger as a fool caught in his folly, like an angry she bear robbed of her cub, none dare go near her. (Except courageous souls like Jim Pouillon who have more compassion for the innocent victims being led to the slaughter than they do concern for their own wellbeing.)
yor bro ken
I hope that Mr. Pouillon’s family is doing okay. :(
You have cut to the heart of the matter here, all the rhetoric over what constitutes “Personhood”, which is really the centerpiece that the abortion lie is founded on. It’s funny how that all change when their own existence is called into question. Well done.
They need to do way instain mother> who kill thier babbys. becuse these babby cant frigth back?
Kavya, hon, how old are you? I’m guessing either English isn’t your first language or you’re under the age of 12, in which the second case, I think you’re too young to be here. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great you’re standing up for life, but this blog contains topics and discussions in the comments which aren’t appropriate for your age. I encourage you to visit family-friendly pro-life sites and come back here when you’re a little bit older.
Jill, this is something that is ignored far too often which I think should be shouted from the rooftops as the epitome of pro-abort violence:
What about men who kill their significant others because they won’t get an abortion?
I’m sorry, I just saw you were asking a question and your stance isn’t really clear. I encourage you to visit the following websites to learn more about the pro-life position and abortion-related violence, just add http:// to the beggining of the links: abortion-violence.com and abortionfacts.com
Excuse me, that first link is wrong, the correct web address is abortionviolence.org
Xalisae, I agree, violence is the worst form of coercion this is. Also, I’d venture that we don’t hear nearly as many news reports of violence towards women who were refusing to carry to term as we do of women who refuse to abort. Alsn another often overlooked and equally powerful forms of coercion include emotional abuse, withdrawl of financial/emotional support, threats of loosing housing, and threats of taking children away.
*There is…not “this is”. Got my typing fingers moving too fast :D
True, Rachael, but I was speaking specifically of violence on the behalf of pro-aborts toward pro-lifers, and I think that the cases of men killing women for not aborting falls into that category and gets swept under the carpet by the media purposefully.
Jill,
Great column and tribute to Jim, Jill. You’re an amazing writer who truly succeeds in getting the reader to feel his/her emotions.
I didn’t know Jim, but I miss him. Jill, you were so right that he reminds you of other pro-lifers. From what I read about Jim, he was the whole pro-life package, wrapped up in an older man you just want to hug.
I also noticed in a previous post that he used a two-sided sign. Some pro-lifers do this (as I’m sure you know) so that when they see small children approaching, they could easily flip the grotesque sign around to something more for their age…a cute little baby with a single word “LIFE” on it. I have also seen other pro-lifers do this type of thing outside of abortion clinics. They would use the grotesque sign to show people as they were driving in to the clinic, then flip it over to the “Jesus Heals” side for the woman and companion of the woman to see when coming out after an abortion.
And, for the record, there is a group of bikers that attend a church called the Warehouse Church. When they (about 20 of them)drove up to the abortion clinic on their bikes and in their leathers and walked up to the clinic doors to stand united to pray, it was a truly awesome sight. (they got quite the welcome!) Not absurd at all. Really, really cool!
In many ways Jim epitomized the sort of person the other side likes to pick off.
Yep.
Hey – what is missing in all the lazy so-called media reports about Jim’s violent murder? Yes, I know – the litany of examples of radical pro-choice violence by pro-abortion proponents. That’s it !!! Hmmmm – why not?
Pro-Lifers are targets of violence daily and the media, news, and law enforcement shrug it off. Now one has been gunned down and murdered. We cry for Jim and his family and beg authorities to take the threats by pro-abortion / pro-choice zealots seriously. This no joke – a man was KILLED !!!!
