Rasmussen: 48% want abortion coverage banned in healthcare plan; only 13% want it mandated
Rasmussen Reports, today:
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 48% believe any government-subsidized health care plan should be prohibited from covering abortion procedures. 13% believe such plans should be required to cover abortions, and 32% favor a more neutral approach with no requirements in either direction….
Among those who currently support passage of the legislation, 22% want a prohibition banning abortion coverage and 22% want a mandate requiring such coverage. 47% of the plan’s supporters prefer the neutral approach, and 9% are not sure.
Among those who oppose the plan, 72% favor a prohibition against coverage of abortions while 5% hold the opposite view….
72% of Republicans favor an abortion ban while 43% of Democrats prefer a neutral approach. Among those not affiliated with either major party, a plurality (48%) would like to see a prohibition.
Polls taken over many years by many organizations have found that Americans are uncomfortable with taking away a woman’s choice on the issue of abortion, but most are opposed to having public funds pay for abortions.
Still, most Americans (52%) also think it is too easy to get an abortion in America.
58% say abortion is morally wrong most of the time.

The way that is worded with 32% saying that no requirement be made is pretty ambiguous. I would have preferred them have forced the respondent to go one way or the other. Not very useful. As usual, just a few too people want to avoid the issue. Pro aborts are probably very concerned only 13% of people will say they want to force taxpayers to pay for abortion. The 32% avoiding the issue still after years of propaganda haven’t been swayed to a sincere level of support.
Even if all 13% were women, that would only be 26% of women in support of abortion.
The pro aborts have failed to convince women that abortion is health care.
As usual, just a few too many people want to avoid the issue.
